This is another one of the most stupid posts that you see constantly from the google side. Android phones are mostly on par with the iPhone. Its taken everyone else 2 years to finally match the iphone screen ppi. That being said, Apple releases a phone once a year while New android phones drop every Thursday at 3:45. There will always be newer kit out there ahead of an iPhone update. The GIII is just hitting the market with the same camera as the 4S yet weaker performance according to reviews thanks to software. The screen is pentile crap. AMOLED is nice, but your pixels are woefully overated. The processor is irrelevant since android can't handle high end processors properly, but even if it could it's right on par with iPhone. Gpu. Same deal. Apple wins every time.

Not sure what you mean on the last part. Yes the new tab will get updates. All .025 of the user base will rejoice. The rest are screwed. Repeat what I said before, JB will be lucky to hit 5% penetration by same time next year.

Galaxy SIII has newer sensor than iPhone 4S. SGSII actually had 8MP sensor before iPhone got it. International SGSIII beats iPhone 4S in all benchmarks and specs. Domestic SGSIII beats 4S in all benchmarks but GPU-related ones.

If this os true how is that before the iPhone 4 there was smartphones with more than 300ppi?

The processor is irrelevant since android can't handle high end processors properly,

Source?

But if I have to pick one over the other, I'd say more software as the hardware is mostly manufacture by third party, even though under their design.

You don't have to pick one over the other. That's what a vertically integrated system is. It's both. There is no picking. Why would you insist on "having to pick" ?

Nobody, aside from absolute Google zealots, will be caught dead wearing those stupid things.

Walking around waving your arms hoping for something to happen on an invisible screen only you can see won't make me like you; it'll just make me think you're a complete douche bag.

Aw, the Google fans are trying to convince people that Android is actually good.

How laughably pathetic.

I am not sure people need any convincing. They are buying Android phones in droves (way more people buy Android phones than they do iPhones).

The iPhone 4S' sensor comes from the Sony Xperia ARC actually. It was old news by the time it was in the iPhone 4S.

I think the Nexus tablet looks like a great competitor to the iPod touch. It's the same price as the entry level iPod touch, and Apple isn't even supporting its current generation iPod touch with current iOS technologies like AirPlay mirroring, the new 3D maps, etc. In my experience, the current generation iPod touch can be a bit laggy. If I had not had to purchase one for work and were in the market for a PMP device, I would have definitely tried out the Nexus instead.

Google

Some of this hardware looks good. Might be fun. But: there's no profit in the tablet, period. So it's going to be nagging you to buy all the time. Hey, look at this cool ad!

The later demo of -- what? -- jumping out a plane? -- shows the best and worst of Sergey. Wonderful ideas, boldly designed -- but no focus, no thought about, "What's it for?"

Nobody's going to wear glasses voluntarily. What about people with less than 20/20 vision? They have these AND their glasses?

In Google-land, everything's so manic that it never fits together. Like the Google car, it has the look of a frantic billionaire's feverish, Gyro Gearloose experiment. Cool. Never use it. Cool. Great, but no apps. Everything's unfinished. What did Jobs say? "Great artists ship." Come on, Google, ship.

So you're admitting that you don't know nothing about Android and that you haven't used it in your life.

This is another one of the most stupid posts that you see constantly from the google side. Android phones are mostly on par with the iPhone except in software. Yes you can customize more. That's about it. Its taken everyone else 2 years to finally match the iphone screen ppi. That being said, Apple releases a phone once a year while New android phones drop every Thursday at 3:45. The Samsung Galaxy S3 completely destroys the iPhone 4S in terms of performance ( CPU and GPU performance ) and battery life. It's not even close.

And you have obviously never used the S3 in real life if you think the screen is crap because of pentile, you don't even notice it at high resolution.

Walking around waving your arms hoping for something to happen on an invisible screen only you can see won't make me like you; it'll just make me think you're a complete douche bag.

I'm not sure why you say "waving your arms" but I can remember a time when people felt embarrassed just talking to a mobile phone in public. Then they soon got used to it because everyone was doing it.

The $200 tablet will sell like hot cakes, that's for sure. It's so much better than anything in the same or somewhat higher price category (Fire or Samsung Tab 2 7"). $200 isn't much money, particularly not for a IPS 1280*800 screen and a quad core CPU - even diehard iOS fans will surely think of picking up one.

They'll sell like hotcakes for sure? Based on what? There is no tablet selling like hotcakes other than iPad. The biggest reason Android took off in the mobile phone market is because iPhone was originally limited to AT&T. With tablets most people are purchasing Wi-Fi only and so when they have the choice, they choose iPad and Apple's vast app ecosystem.

I want to vomit. Loathe EVERYTHING Google does.

Damn dude -89. The fandroids are out in full force today. Google Now ? Location based service so they can send you relevant information ? Do they just sell your location and pump advertisements down your throat, or do you get to opt out ? (Unlike Gmail). And they say Apple users drink kool-aid. Well I'll be proudly giving you a run for the money on who can get the lowest post approval rating.

I imagine some of the cost relates to the fact it was designed and is manufactured in the USA. To all those who claim they would pay more for a product manufactured in the USA, ball is now in your court.

I sure would buy USA made goods. But only those goods for which I agree to the TOS. Anything but Google/ Android.

:-/

Just a little reminder to freshen up your memories in case you're thinking of buying one of these. Excerpt from Wikipedia:

"On July 16, 2010, Google announced that the next shipment of Nexus One smartphones would be the last to be sold on their web store, stating "While the global adoption of the Android platform has exceeded our expectations, the web store has not. It’s remained a niche channel for early adopters, but it’s clear that many customers like a hands-on experience before buying a phone." The device will continue to be sold through retail stores, and other channel partners.

As of November 1, 2010 Google have closed the Nexus One support forums, redirecting users to the Google Mobile forum, which only has categories for software. The message shown to users was: "The Nexus One forum will be archived and become read-only on November 1st. Please see the Nexus One Terms of Sale for details regarding support. If you have questions about using applications on your Nexus One post them to the Google Mobile Forum." Also worthy of note is that the link to Terms of Sale on that message has no mention of support, contrary to what the message implies.

As of the announcement of Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, HTC has announced that there will be no more software updates for the Nexus One, as the hardware is now too old to run the new version of Android effectively"

Kinda like the original iPad with iOS 6, the original iPhone and the iPhone 3G with iOS 5. Don't double standard.

You must be one of those people who shop at WalMart. There are many well know/documented reasons to dislike Google.

That'd be a bit hard given my nearest WalMart is over 3,000 miles away.

Also you're comparing WalMart, a company with a history of pretty damn bad things (e.g slave labor, underpaying, overworking, ethical issues, etc) with Google, who's history consists of 'Showing ads customised to what you're doing'.

Dont get me wrong - I find it hellishly creepy that I log onto MacRumors and find an Amazon product advertised that I was looking at earlier in the week, but its hardly a life threatening situation and you and I both know very well that its non-identifiable information.

In addition nobody forces you to use Google products, just like nobody forces you to use WalMart - if you dont like Google, stay out of the Google threads and shut yourself away from them. Use Yahoo and Bing if you're that paranoid. Even better, use TOR and you'll be completely anonymous.
