That would be cool if I had a speaker I could plug into… but really. Did they put the team that runs their messaging apps in charge of this?
They have a lame sense of humor and taste there. They thought it was so cute to name their OSs after desserts in ascending alphabetical order, then one day they finally realized it's confusing to users. And, like you said, that whole disaster with chat apps.

Do people still use wired headphones for their phones? If there is a market, then good for them.
They do. Some of them have to buy a dongle or an adapter, depending on if they want to listen to music while charging or not, to pull off such a feat, though.

This is years too late, but Jony Ive still really needs the piss taken out of him, so I'll forgive the timing.

I laughed :) Particularly when he said "Yes: It's a headphone jack"

Indeed, they do. I've never seen/found a pair of reference headphones with BT support. They probably exist, I suppose, but I haven't seen them.

EDIT: Admittedly, I rarely use headphones with my phone.... and I'm not going to buy another pair just for the stupid phone.

Don't know about phones, but my MacBook Pro has one. I use it, ever tried syncing video cuts to music on bluetooth while video editing? Everything is fine until you export, then everything is off. Maybe pro's have a way, but doing it by listening on bluetooth is a no go.
