Man - these key boards are great (WordFlow, GBoard) but Apple is weak from not allowing them to have the voice dictation and 3D Touch cursor...

I'm also looking to be able to switch between 2 different languages ... In the stock iOS keyboard, you click on the little planet but it seems doing this on the GBoard keyboard send you to the stock again ...
If they could implement that, I will adopt it definitively.

I agree with you for the multiple languages . I use SwiftKey for that purpose , it's the only keyboard ( As far as I know ..) where you can use just one keyboard to type in two different languages without having to switch .
I would love  to do the same !
OTOH , I tried out GBoard and the search function is fantastic .Besides only being able to type in english ,without spellcheck going crazy, I wish the keys were darker .

Slash is the only third party keyboard you'll ever need. Basically a watered down "slack" experience. / + whatever app is available

Looks really good actually, just a shame it's US only. I don't understand why they do that... Surely they could just make it English speaking countries only..

Nobody else in the world speaks (or types) the bastardised version of English: US English. That's a good thing.

Hello Google. It's not iOS 8 compatible. Not all of use can upgrade to iOS 9.

Hello JosephAW. Every device that runs iOS8 can upgrade to iOS9.

Don't fire me for being sceptical, but are we sure that google won't be able to log keystrokes and searches and get into our data somehow? The ONLY thing I use Google for now is search. I don't trust Google.

I can imagine how interesting your logs can be..

If you swipe on the spacebar on GBoard you get the cursor.
Cursor doesn't go up and down.
[doublepost=1463098233][/doublepost]These keyboards do show that apple is lacking on their end.

They'll need a huge update for their keyboard.

Not saying whether it's fair or not, but EU MP's regularly flip their wigs over Google, so I can understand if they take their time with releasing anything outside of the United States.

Edit: reversed the 'P' and the 'M'. Forgive me, I'm American.

Since Apple allows third-party keyboard, does it still need to create its own advanced keyboard? Or is it enough that they allow others to fill in? Maybe one day (crosses fingers) Apple will allow us to specify other default apps.

One of my biggest pet peeve's in tech. Even after the creator of GIFs stated how to pronounce, people still say it wrong (Apple's latest iPhone commercials and now Google).
Can you link to this? I'm just curious, had no idea creator said how to pronounce.

I have one major issue with third party keyboard and that is I haven't found one that is both decent and also allows speech to text. I use speech to text at least 25% of my "typing". Third party keyboard also have a tendency to lag on load up St times and even crash. Gboard had been good for me today so we will see. I ended up uninstalling swift key because, though feature rich, it just wasn't worth the sacrifices of sometimes not having s keyboard show up at all and this having no input method.

My biggest gripe with Gboard thus far is that it's only in English. The predictive text and autocorrect is miles ahead of iOS. But I expected this Asni use Android pretty heavily too.

Not available in the UK. What a surprise.
I guess UK English is counted as a foreign language. Maybe we'll get it next (not that there is any difference in the iOS keyboard between US and UK English, is there? I know physical keyboards have some minor differences in key position [mostly the @ and " symbols]).

There's no difference in the look of the keyboard between the different English's. It's the dictionary that sets them apart.

I guess that actually makes sense! Still annoying tho haha!

Like a poster above mentioned, Apple does not allow dictation on 3rd party keyboards. That alone stops me from using other keyboards.
