I decided to go with the 10Pro instead of the XL. When I tried the 9XL last year, it was massive and heavy especially when placing it in the back pocket of my jeans. Out the door with promos, taxes and trade about $278 total, plus I get $200 in store credit for a pair of Moonstone earbuds.

I thought it was a pretty bad presentation, but I see what they were going for. I love pixel phones though and finally upgrading my original Pixel Fold this year, just wish it wasn't October.

A lot of it felt forced, especially the Jimmy Fallon bits. The Pixel Watch didn’t get much time and a lot of the features just seem to be AI gimmicks. The photo coach is great idea on paper BUT at the event it showed how long it actually took to work, most people are not going to wait that long in order to get advice on how to take a photo.

There are of course some firsts tho, like the Pro fold being the first to get a IP68 water and dust resistance in a foldable. The Ai coach on the Pixel watch is very interesting, however it’s US only so that would be no good to those of us outside the US (such as myself in the UK).

I still love the Google Pixel phones, to me it's the go to smartphone still. My point is, yearly "upgrades" are starting to become pointless unless the trade-in deals are no brainers, like changing in my current 9 Pro XL phone and getting the new phone for like 50 bucks, then I'll do it. Otherwise I'll pass and just see what the 11 Pro is like. Plus I want to drop the XL size and go the smaller Pro size when I do get another phone.

But like I've read before, smartphones have become just another "appliance" like your Microwave or Refrigerator or Dishwasher. If your washing machine works great and isn't broke, do people buy a new one every year? Nope. Same with smartphones now.

I would probably get one every year but thankfully those don't fit in my pockets LMAO

Yeah, agreed but I think their approach was better to try to show features in action and a more relatable presentation. Wasn’t perfect but points for originality and it was far better than any presentation Samsung has ever done. Didn’t feel like they were taking themselves too seriously and a nice smattering of shots at the competitions, especially Apple.

Oh definitely better than Samsung events, they always seem wooden to me. There were a couple of nice shots in there to Apple. I just wish they would have shown more of the camera, how is it better than the Pixel 9, how much more battery are people going to get. Basically the practical things that most people would like to have known.

That's not to say I'm not impressed because I am, I actually feel like the Pixel is close to the iPhone but within the Android world. There is now MagSafe compatible cases and the Pixel Watch4 looks great. The fact that Google are offering me £502 for my S24 Ultra (more than Samsung have towards the S25 Ultra) is also a nice touch, along with the free 1 year of Google AI Pro and £75 off the price of the Pixel Buds Pro 2.

Last year I thought the ai sub was a waste of time. It's not been super useful for me on phone, but as a debugger to help me learn python it's super helpful

im happy with the zfold7 but part of me has always been curious about the pixel line... and google just sent me a $200 coupon

Google just sent me $150 off special coupon I guess for being such a valued customer LOL anyway I decided to spend it on the regular Pixel 10 blue and take the $100 store credit
Interesting through email ? Waiting for the 30% off they offer

Catching up on the news still. This software stuff is always what most interests me. Looking forward to trying out the new voicemail enhancements, the 100x zoom, and Magic Cue. They namedrop Material 3 Expressive, so I assume it comes with QPR1 out of the box and I see QPR2 just started beta, but I cannot find anywhere if Pixel will have the 90/10 split-screen yet. Is that still exclusive to One UI 8?

Edit: Looks like it is in the Pixel Canary build, so still coming soon.

For me it's disappointing the 10 and 10 Pro weight more than 200 grams. That's 40 grams heavier than my S25. Yeah, they have bigger batteries, but it still has to be seen if that's because the G5 is not that efficient. Hopefully it is and battery life is stellar.

Also, the G5 is 4nm? Wasn't is supposed to be 3nm? That's a miss IMO.

Anyway, I will consider swapping my S25 for the 10 in blue. OneUI is awesome and a big selling point in my book, but having updates in time is very important. I'm interested in hearing about the battery life and camera quality on the 10 series.

So Google is doing some shady **** with their trade-in values. I chose the Google Fi deal as I need to replace the existing line I’m currently using in my Pixel 9PF and $800 off is pretty good value.

Choosing this version of the P10PF shows the trade-in value for my P9PF as $580. I went back as I was considering changing to 512GB and I quickly added an unlocked version without Google Fi to my cart to see if the shipping dates were the same and the trade-in value changes to $760. That’s some ********.

If you try to take advantage of the offer directly on Google Fi’s website, they’re only offering $450 trade-in value on the P9PF. Feels like I’m dealing with a low rent car dealership.

Cancelled my initial pre-order as I contemplate what I’m going to do. Maybe I’ll just wait until Black Friday and see what kind of offers Google has then.

I’m jealous of Google offering some of you a 100 or a 200 $ off coupon, I live in Germany and they sent a 20 € coupon here, what a joke 🙄.

Which color do you like more on the pros? Moon or jade? I can’t decide which one to get

Moonstone. It sorta looks like a blueish gray to me.
