So Google is doing some shady **** with their trade-in values. I chose the Google Fi deal as I need to replace the existing line I’m currently using in my Pixel 9PF and $800 off is pretty good value.

Choosing this version of the P10PF shows the trade-in value for my P9PF as $580. I went back as I was considering changing to 512GB and I quickly added an unlocked version without Google Fi to my cart to see if the shipping dates were the same and the trade-in value changes to $760. That’s some ********.

If you try to take advantage of the offer directly on Google Fi’s website, they’re only offering $450 trade-in value on the P9PF. Feels like I’m dealing with a low rent car dealership.

Cancelled my initial pre-order as I contemplate what I’m going to do. Maybe I’ll just wait until Black Friday and see what kind of offers Google has then.
Google always does that. They like to nudge you towards the phone they want to sell the most. The regular Pixel 10 has a $100 store credit. It's double for the Pro's and their unlocked phones.

Well, I just watched it. They should have had Stephen Colbert instead of Fallon. The Fold looks good. Admittingly, all of the phones looked good. However, I probably won't get one, this year.

I get that...but this is changing the value of my trade in just based on the version of Pixel Fold I choose. Tempt my eye with some sweet extra value if I move to Google Fi but hope I don't notice the reach around taking some of the money right back out of my pocket. Pretty slimy.

Trade in value should be based upon the specific device and its condition. The $760 trade-in value for a Pixel 9 Pro Fold holds for any Pixel 10 I buy on all carriers...expect Google Fi. And a consumer isn't going to notice that devalued proposition unless they try take a deep dive fully configuring multiple versions of a device. Even Apple doesn't pull that ********.

I noticed Google gives out $800 ($300 instant credit plus $500 payment credits over 24 months) for new Fi subscribers. Do re-upping subscribers get payment credits when they purchase a new Fi phone?

I’m jealous of Google offering some of you a 100 or a 200 $ off coupon, I live in Germany and they sent a 20 € coupon here, what a joke 🙄.

Which color do you like more on the pros? Moon or jade? I can’t decide which one to get
I went with moonstone, I like the jade, but I really dislike the Champagne colour on the metal, I just gold is tacky IMHO. No offence to the gold fans.

I am also tempted to cancel as I don't think I can be bothered to setup a phone again 🤣 (have sent phone back to them 4 times to be fixed (they replaced it twice)).

it's mainly the watch I am excited for TBH, worried the 45mm might be a bit big though (I have a 160mmish wrist)

Google just sent me $150 off special coupon I guess for being such a valued customer LOL anyway I decided to spend it on the regular Pixel 10 blue and take the $100 store credit
I decided I'm not going to even look at the phone I already have a friend that needs to upgrade will take advantage of the phone.. another thing that swayed me was the esim I really don't want to switch my Android phones to it.

Go to a Best Buy and they should have the older Watch 3 on display. I am about the same size as you and think the bigger size is the way to go (for me).
Sadly no best buys in the UK, plus it's a bit hard for me to get to a store with them on display, but thanks for the suggestion.

I was thinking the same but I have three Pixel's that have a SIM tray 9a, 8Pro, 8 (all different sizes 6.3", 6.7", 6.1"). I rarely used the iPhone 13 and when I tried the iOS 26 beta, the phone kinda ran a little sluggish ( I took the beta into consideration but was that a bad sign for iOS 26 on that phone?).

So I will give it a go with a eSIM only phone. If I have issues with my budget carrier ($6 per month) i'll return the phone. I will kick myself if the 10a turns out to have both a pSIM and eSIM. o_O

I'm betting on pSIM for 10a

Just got an email $100 off

Maybe I'll wait for the 30% off if there's one
There usually is but you'll need to wait at least 6 months or if you get lucky during Black Friday. But if you look at it another way, you are already getting around 30% off with your $100 instant discount and the $200 in store credit.

If a 30% off deal shows up, I doubt they will throw in store credit.

Ugh. Pixel 10 throttles its battery capacity after 200 cycles. This has me seriously considering canceling my preorder.

Just read about this but didn't want to put a downer on people getting excited.

It is disappointing but I think if there is enough consumer push back in terms of complaints or legal actions that will naturally follow if this information is true. I don't know but I would think 200 cycles is less than a year. So you should be able to tell before your warranty is up and might (with a lot of work) get a refurbished replacement but after that I don't know??

Personally I would rather take my chances with the battery needing replacement than a reduction in current. If Google simply adds a setting with a toggle switch for us to choose then it is a non issue. I don't know if this would stop me from buying a new Pixel.

I would say that it is actually a pretty significant problem with no resolution. Having performance reduced or throttled was a thing Apple got in trouble for. This is a very similar issue using battery voltage reduction to reduce battery capacity. Googles battery software only affects battery capacity and not truly performance but both companies are using software in the background without user knowledge to cripple some part of the phone. This is a very bad practice.

I just keep hoping it isn't true......

Google confirmed to Android Authority that Battery Health Assistance is mandatory on the Pixel 10 series and can’t be disabled. That means your phone’s charging speed and effective battery life will drop over time.

Preorder cancelled, do better Google. As that article states, Samsung batteries can hit 2K cycle counts.

Yeah, resale after a year will not be good :(
