Two questions.
1. What's the length of the return period from the Google store?
2. Would there be any issues getting an unlocked Pixel, activation on my current carrier, then moving it to another carrier in a month or so?

I've heard people say they're getting offers from Google of $450 discount, plus whatever your trade-in value is for a Pixel 10 Pro.

I haven't seen this? How are people getting this?
I have only seen an email for a $200 discount promo code in my email.

I want a pixel 10 (Standard size) but seeing delivery in October has me less than interested.

TLDR thread, is the Pixel 10 Pro (small) being released later, or have orders on that been so high that it is a month out, where I can get the Pixel 10 Pro XL next week !!??

ERM. fixed.. Pixel 10 pro

1. 15 days
2. As long as you didn't do the Google Fi subsidy, then you can move wherever you like.

If you need a longer return period, Amazon has 30 days. Amazon will also give you a gift card with purchase (up until Sept 4).

10 Pro Fold comes out in October. 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL are all available now. Shipping through Google is saying Sept 4-5 for me as of today, so maybe try picking a different color or storage size? Or get it from Best Buy or Amazon and save that credit for a watch or some buds?

It's still a Pixel LOL He means that in a good way, and bad way. Basically he says it's a good phone, saying it's extremely similar to last year's phone.

But says if you're a die-hard Pixel fan you'll like this new phone.

My impression of his impression is rather mid, he liked it, didn't love it, didn't hate it, but he did still seem a little underwhelmed by the [H]ardware.

I'm not trying to be a hater, but I feel like Marques is generally trying less and less these days with his product reviews. He's a busy guy and has taken other interests over the years so I feel like he's mostly going through the motions with these.

I get the feeling he's moved on personally to cars and disc golf but still tries to cater to the community that made him famous. I don't watch a huge amount of his content tbh.

Interesting to hear Marques say on the WVFRM podcast that the telephoto is the worst Pixel 10 lens and Becca say that lens was her favorite to use.

16 hours off the charger. Over 7 hr SoT with no concerns about getting through the day. I'm happy.

10 Pro. Heavy usage: downloading files, installing and uninstalling apps, tinkering with settings, podcasts through Android Auto, a couple YouTube videos. Mix of 5G at work and Wi-Fi at home. Not a typical day, as I usually only need 4 hrs SoT, so this will definitely last through a busy day.

Not sure how I got the offer probably because I have a pixel 2 XL on the fi line lol

Totally not sure on it though. Am I the only irked by the main selling feature of this device (and most new ones anymore) that is AI?

BTW checked a few days ago and the fold 9 is gone from the Google store...

Tech reviewers are nothing but third party sales people nowadays. They get their nice cameras, film in nicely decorated rooms, and just read off the specs.

The whole point of a review is to offer an opinion, not "Here are the specs, you decide".

The reason they don't offer any opinions is because they want relationships with companies and they also want to appease to as many people as possible, and the best way to do that is to take a safe, neutral position.

The problem is that a safe, neutral position is not interesting and is useless.

Well said 👍

Has anyone noticed any lag? Using Firefox or Amazon app it's like the refresh rate is well below 60hz

And video seems hit and miss. it really doesn't like the fake grass that is my lawn (have attached video, not sure if it worked)

The missing point here, is that the top YT tech reviewers are typically making bank money. A guy like Marques is probably making half a million or more than that a year. When you have that kind of money on the line you get to be very careful about what you say and review.

Check the battery settings to see if the phone is throttling apps that are consuming excess battery. IIRC, that’s a feature Google supposedly added to help better SOT. You might be able to disable it.

He's making WAY MORE than half a million a year with the amount of subscribers he has he's making million$.

Can't see anything in the battery settings, what stutters is fine on my p9p xl, I know they will probably fix the issues soon, but as expected I think I am a bit underwhelmed
