Battery life is crazy gooooood on the Pixel Watch 4.... doesn't take long to charge, a quick charge can get you to 100%.

And I'm not really doing any lengthy fitness activity with my watch... I'm active when it comes to doing yard work, have a garden that I maintain. I'm big on moving and keeping myself active in an effort to complete my daily steps.... I sleep with the watch. So, I get a run down on how well I sleep as soon as I wake up... which is pretty cool.

And @tbayrgs lays out all it's negatives compared to Apple Watch... but there are some positives when it comes to wearing the Pixel Watch. You get the best assistant on a smartwatch... crazy amount of 3rd party watch faces available to you.

There's something traditional I like about having a circular smart watch... can't really put into words, but I like that. Haven't ran into performance issues... no lag for me.
Yeah, more customization of watch faces is a big plus for the PW. The problem for me is I rely on the complications a lot and if they’re just not available, the watch face becomes sort of irrelevant without them. I like the round face for watch faces aesthetic for sure but find it less desirable for everything else. We have square or rectangular interfaces in everything else with use for a reason and a round watch faces is a compromise for text.

And yes, Gemini is light years ahead of Siri. I just found I rarely use my assistant on my watch for more than simple requests and commands (adding items to lists, timers, smart home requests, replying/sending messages) and believe it or not, Siri was actually just as reliable here, maybe more so, especially with the smart home. Anything more complex and I’m using Gemini on my phone.

From an aesthetic perspective, there’s really no contest. The Apple Watch is so ugly. The stainless steel ones are a little more palatable, but that cheap, matte grey finish you see everyone wearing with awful Amazon bands paired is just a no from me.

I enjoyed the Pixel watches 1 2 and 3. Being on an iPhone when I need a watch to tell the time (when I play tennis) I just wear my SS series 3 which is terrible, but does what I need. I have no interest in using a watch as a phone replacement as it just doesn’t do it well enough and I don’t care about closing rings.

The PW4 looks great. It’s like the watch it should have been back in gen 1.

I agree. The display on my Apple Watch looks worse than my PW3 and watchOS 26 LG effects look so out of place.

So I am leaning towards returning my pixel watch 4, I love the smart features, but the fitness tracking lacks IMO, especially the heart rate sensor as it takes about 5 minutes to start showing my heart rate accurately when using the heart rate transmission over bluetooth.

I am going to miss google wallet on my wrist, and not having to get phone out of my wrist to use my voice to set a timer, but I think my trusty Garmin is more useful for my fitness journey.

Looking on Amazon UK under the Pixel 10 Pro it said this is a much returned product. Anyone surprised by that?
As @robvalentine said, after a good look at the low scoring reviews there are a good amount of "verified buyer" ones, I honestly wouldn't say the majority are justified to be honest. Quite a few moaning about Amazon or google, rather than valid issues with the device itself.

One of them complains about there being no manual.. I mean when was the last time any of us received a new phone with a hefty leather-bound tome to show us how to use it?!

Mildly related: I pointed a friend to buying a 9 Pro last year and said just fire it up and it'll pretty much guide you through setup and first use (which it did). She's a tech-phobe, but handled it easily.

Amazon (at least in the US) has a very generous 30-day return policy (longer around Christmas), while Google only has 14 days, and they don't charge restocking fees (they will say the reserve the right to, but never do unless items are missing/damaged). So perhaps more people are just taking advantage of them to test out the device? Even if you return it, you keep the 1 year AI Pro plan, so I am sure that encourages people to give it a whirl. (And if you buy and return a Samsung, you can also get one year of Perplexity Pro through the Galaxy app store... but why would anyone do that? wink-wink, nudge-nudge)

My sister-in-law doesn't know a smartphone from a hole in the ground and managed to set up a Pixel 9a in no time. Android really has come a long way.

My MagBak case came in along with extra color swaps for the case in grey. It's cool how they have a screen protector that you can apply with the box of the case.
