Interesting list of advantages. The only advantage I care about is Android itself. I need that customization. If Apple had a choice of launchers, icon packs, and animation speed tuning, I wouldn't have much reason to stay on Pixel.
I own the smaller 10 Pro and 17 Pro, but most of the specs are the same as the big boys, so here are my thoughts:
AI:
Gemini is great on Pixel. Gemini is great on iPhone. Apple announced today that more Gemini smarts are coming to Siri and other parts of Apple Intelligence as well, so this could be a moot point by autumn.
However, there's more to AI than Gemini: voice typing with Gboard on Pixel is much better than any other phone I've tried. Now Playing is automatic and better than Shazam on iOS. Circle to Search on Android works so much smoother than the highlight screenshot thing Apple did. And the Pixel phone app has a lot of cool features which Apple has started to copy, but they still are better on Pixel.
On the other hand, Daily Hub disappeared from Pixel and hasn't come back. Magic Cue still doesn't really do much of anything. The big AI tools that Google advertised for this phone still haven't delivered. The AI on Pixel is cool, but it still falls short in some areas.
RAM:
iPhone 17PM is still going to outperform Tensor G5 even though the iPhone has 12 GB RAM. What are you needing a lot of RAM for? I have read that Pixel reserves 3.5 GB RAM at all times to keep their AI models loaded, so a OnePlus 15 might be the better choice for RAM-heavy needs. All that said, my Pixel loads everything quick and feels faster than my iPhone because I set all the animation speeds to half.
Price:
Is the Pixel cheaper? Both phones are $1199 MSRP. Granted, the Pixel goes on sale all the time. But carriers are also giving away iPhones like crazy, so your mileage may vary.
Screen:
I can't speak to the screen. I never noticed the Pixel being brighter. But I turn the brightness way down on most screens. I kind of want to try that Nxtpaper 70 Pro with the paper-like screen.
Camera:
I am also not a camera snob. I think my iPhone photos are more vivid/punchy. But my Pixel takes photos that are more realistic, if a little flat. I have a small issue with Pixel macro photography of text, which sometimes makes it hard to read due to AI processing. Very different results, but both very good. Just takes time to adjust to the changes.
Other small things:
- I like Pixel's haptics better.
- The iPhone 17PM is going to get better battery life.
- Android 16 feels much more consistent and thoughtfully designed than iOS 26.
- F-Droid and ReVanced. If you know, you know.
