Sorry. I truly am. I didn't know this was a fanboi-only forum. I thought it was a place to discuss technology. I had the silly idea that people could state why they think Apple products are lacking and why competitors could be better, especially in a thread about a competitor's product. I didn't know that stating why an Apple product isn't perfect was tantamount to insulting a fanboi's mother.

I don't have, nor do I want at the moment, a tablet. I just thought I'd point out the narrow-mindedness of the fanbois. Fanbois also don't represent anywhere near 99% of the market, and it's normal for folks to ask for things instead of accepting whatever Apple decides to feed them. Is "everything under the sun" a known code for "things people want but Apple doesn't provide"? I'll have to write that one down.

If you could show me the door, I'd love to leave. This place is wretched with stupidity. It was over there? Thanks.

Yours isn't the only post like this in the thread, but I am taking it as an example, so please don't take this personally.

Coming to a forum called MACrumors and using the word fanboy (or fanboi) implies that you are looking to pick a fight and not "discuss technology". It's called poisoning the well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisoning_the_well

Most people like to think that they make rational decisions about buying a product - that they take into consideration the price, features, positives, and negatives about a product and then choose to buy it. In truth, emotion and gut reaction plays a fair bit of it as well.

If the people you are addressing are in fact fanboys, then your pointing it out will make little difference. If they are not in fact fanboys, then your assertions add nothing to the conversation. In either case, all you are doing is contibuting to the problem.

So you suggest a card slot so you can carry around your music and movies.

Surely even you can see the irony.

No. I was referring to the fact that we really should be seeing more than 64gb max memory in 2010 on a device like this, thereby negating the need for carrying around memory cards.

The idea of having a card slot would be to easily get photos from your camera on to the device without the need for an adaptor that you have to lug around and possibly lose.

Clear?

Prove it then. Show me proof that people want camera's in tablets

I've talked to alot of people who would love one in the iPad, for taking it outside, showing off their new ride, or anything else outside, showing a newborn baby off, without having to lug a laptop around.

I Don't think so. Camera's won't be a big selling point for tablets. Unless you have proof that camera's is a highly wanted feature for tablets because i haven't seen that on a wishlist

Your post explicitly commented on the number of people complaining about the lack of a camera.

I am truly baffled here by the defense of the objectively indefensible.

Ah so i guess that means that every user wants a camera then? I mean if that's the case then i know some people who don't care if it has a camera and some that do but only as a novetly not a deal breaker.

I mean i doubt you know the entire population of users so your little fringe group wants a camera but that doesn't mean that its a high demand feature.

It is intuitive. Anyone can use it, it is simple and powerful. Android is not intuitive at all. Sorry, it isn't. Your average consumer cares about that.

I won't argue with this in general, because it is a subjective matter. I had no problems using a friend's Nexus One.

What I fail to understand is the hostility toward the idea of a Google tablet. If the iPad is clearly superior, then you have nothing to lose. If the google tablet is better, then you as a consumer will have better options available. You should be excited about that. If a google tablet has some features that are better than the iPad and some that aren't, then Apple will have an incentive to improve the iPad.

As a consumer, the introduction of a google tablet is a no-lose proposition. The only explanation I can think of for hostility toward a google tablet is an irrational loyalty to Apple, or fear that a device you've already purchased is no longer the 'new hotness'. Am I missing something?

And by "You" I am not referring specifically to uberamd, but to all the posters who seem to be concerned about the mere possibility of a google tablet.

I take it by your content-free reply that you are conceding the point.

I'm not conceding anything. But if a camera was a big issue then the ipad would have sold less than the nexus one and it didn't. So tell me once again if everyone wanted a camera in the ipad. Why did it sell so well?

It's obvious you think you right. I think i'm right. But the proof is in the numbers so we can go around and around but untill people stop buying the ipad. That means that the camera is not an issue.

This. My little sisters (elementary school age) can figure out the iPod touch with ease. They cannot however figure out my G1 or Nexus One. More menus and less intuitiveness don't make for a better power user experience, they make for a overall worse experience. I use Apple stuff because I value my time and the simplicity of their devices reflects that.

That is your opinion. I would disagree! No matter what level or utility or complexity, anything will be made BETTER by well thought out beautiful design. I don't see how anybody can logically argue about that!

The Nexus One comparison is irrelevant.

How many more units would it have sold with a camera?

Not sure. But how many did it sell without one? Alot. Why can't we agree to disagree? You can go around and around about this all night but i have a life and have better things to do than debate this. But there is no right or wrong its called a point of view.

This is a mistake on Google's part. Google needs to focus on what it does well. Search. Serve ads. Integration of all the hardware, OS, support (e.g., iTunes) is not their forté. Leave this to Apple and their likes (is there such a thing?) although on the other hand competition tends to drive improvement.

Still waiting for you to show me proof people do not want a camera. Sales figures prove nothing since those don't include specific purchase intent. Just that they wanted the device.

Jesus christ dude, it's a camera! They are cheap, and as evidenced by the the iPhone and iPod touch easy to integrate into Apple's "flawless" designs. Just put the f#*king thing in and be done with it. Plenty of people want one.

Some of the attempts to defend Apple here seriously astound me. I love Apple products just as much as the rest of you but at the end of the day there is a very simple relationship: they take my money. I want this to be a fair exchange.

The rabid response many of you have towards any criticism of Apple is hilarious/sad. Apple is great! But they are not flawless. I welcome any competition to Apple. The comparisons here of Google to Microsoft may be apt, but do not forget Apple. It is never good to believe you are infallible.
