Holding 2 pieces of paper up to the light

WOW Microsoft. Glad the engineers are really taking some thought into Office Suite. If they only hold 2 documents up togther. They will never get it. Get rid of powerpoint and stop the nonsense. And one more thing stop moving the tools around. Users are frustrated with the back and forth. Get the basics down first and then start integrating image editing. So much for the new Microsoft Startup lab in Cambridge.

True by that standard but most people didn't need that but by geek stand it is behind, I wish I wasn't but on the flip side only a small portion of consumes need it and that Is how I look at it

By geek stand it is behind? lol whatever dude. you just don't get it do you?

Did you buy a 27" iMac with a yellow screen then and were forced to keep/use it and were offered no replacement/fix by the company? And are you forced to buy the new Mac Pro - if the device isn't fit for purpose, don't buy it. If Apple don't sell the product, they'll know something is wrong.

that's not the point here Einstein. No, i wasn't forced into buying Apple stuff, it was merely a reply to all those ignorant fanboys out there that think Apple is the greatest thing on earth and has no flaws. Hey its cool to be a fan, but looks to me that the Apple fan-base has surpassed that and are on a complete other level, somewhere between "ignorant and utterly retarded".

That's a painted piece of plastic ...

it's a place mat for the dinner table.

You like to insult people a lot, don't you? Funny, all the other trolls on here do that too. Can't you put forward a coherent argument without insults, Einstein?

All I have to say, is that the Android market is absolutely horrible. It's not even in the same league as the App store from Apple. Way too many garbage apps...How many "Move around the picture to complete the puzzle" apps do you need??? It's all just junk! Garbage, Garbage, Garbage......

As I look down at my Droid X, I can count 3 apps that are worth anything...And those are not even polished....This platform has a loooong way to go. And to me, the Android Market will never catch up.

I see Android as a nuisance, rather then a platform for innovation.

I think, to be honest, you might need to get a grip.

When mass producing electronics there are always going to be manufacturing errors - it's the nature of the beast. That very few users have any issues (iPhone Antenna, proximity sensor, 27" iMac screen issues) is testament to this. That the media and people such as yourself take them out of all proportion is even worse than the "fan boys", blindly "hating" rather than accepting these are issues suffered by a tiny minority. Issues which are dealt with.

Very few people think apple is 'perfect', no company is. But to knock any tiny issue that can be found as a driving need to try and discredit the company is, frankly, ridiculous.

Ed. Lost my flow - the point is, the iPad is a great little device, perfect for it's stated intention - nothing to knock here. Sure, more features can be added which increase it's functionality, but as it stands, and used for it's stated purpose(s) it's a great device. Hence the millions of sales I guess.

You must have some incredibly high expectation for apps. I can count at least ten that are worth my time to use everyday. The Android Market is not as good as the App Store. It even borders on a code wasteland...LOL, but there are a lot of good apps in the Market. :)

I hope Apple's next iPad goes up to 1280x720. That would be a great resolution for a portable computer that can be a low-tech desktop at the same time.

As for Google's pad, it's still just a complete fiction until people have real photos and real testing experiences. I remember a famous MS tablet-iPad killer in January that went poof by March; that was funny.

They're going to stick with 1024 x 768 for a long time - not only does this reduce the need for interface redesign for developers, but it's a standard resolution that most web developers work to. 1024 x 768 on a smaller pad (7" rumour) would give higher pixel density, but not require any redesign/alternative versions from developers.

The iPad isn't meant to be a "low-tech desktop", apple would never do anything with the spec on this which would cannibalise sales from any of it's other lines. They'll keep phone functionality well away from the iPad and not give it anything powerful enough to act as a viable alternative to it's laptop line - those markets are already covered. This is a new market.

And that's not suggesting "control" or some evil scheme by Apple, it's just business sense in the short - medium term.

I must have missed the press release from Google.

Vaporware FUD isn't released that way. It comes from "an unidentified source at the company" and goes to a specific technology news site or blog, from where it spreads like wildfire.

Yes for FUD, but I believe you have the wrong definition of vaporware.

Criticising rumours on a site dedicated about rumours?
Wow.

Do you consider all unconfirmed Apple rumors FUD too?

This will be great if for nothing else but keep Apple on their toes and improving what they do. I think a Google based pad that is not locked down for apps is great too. My Motorola Droid X is a great phone that I LOVE and the apps are getting better all the time.

I will certainly keep an eye on the growing pad market as it continues to grow as the new hot bed for innovation.

This just in:

An insider has just heard from another insider who knows a source close to an insider that Google and Microsoft are co=operating on making MacBooks.

They will be made entirely from liquid vapor and use no chips and will be steered by brain power. (That unfortunately excludes many of the posters here)

They will be called ZuneBooks and drawings are on Steve Ballmers desk.

:)
