I think that's why they're trying to integrate more things into Google+. I think a lot of people have it, it's just a lot of people don't use it.Pass.... Google+ is vacant.
It is interesting through how much Google is supporting iOS at this Google I/O so far.
These are news which matter to an Apple user. I own multiple iDevices and a maxed-out-specs Macbook Pro. Still I have friends and family members who don't have OSX or an iPhone, so a cross-platform solution is very interesting.I'm not even going to lie, this site doesn't even feel like a source for Apple news and rumors, but rather news and rumors from its competitors and other shenanigans.
Keeping it on servers and monetizing personal data are two very different things.
It's Google's primary business to serve targeted ads, so being able to snoop-in on every private conversation I have and know where I travel, etc. is their greatest wet dream. Apple makes most of its money selling hardware.![]()
What daughters really tell THEIR PARENTS they got engaged in a Google Hangout?! If my daughter did that, she can fuhgeddaboudit!
Nope....it's not for me.
First it didn't like my name and Google has to "review" it.
Then it wants to take a photo of me.
Then it wants my phone number.
I didn't go any further.
A daughter who lives abroad? What daughters really tell THEIR PARENTS they got engaged in a Google Hangout?! If my daughter did that, she can fuhgeddaboudit!
Would you trust Apple or Microsoft with your conversations? Really?
As many as you need to reach everyone you need without paying carrier's ridiculous fees.
I'm more apt to trust a company whose core business isn't analyzing your every move and selling advertising that targets you individually (while giving everything else away for free to suck in as many targets er, users, as possible).
More than Apple, yeah
Apple iMessage: Apple's iMessage encryption trips up feds' surveillance (cnet.com)
Google Gmail: Russia Busts CIA Spy and His Gmail (wired.com)
Your chart forgot one important data point:
Google: Drives around in special cars that take pictures of your house while vacuuming up personal data from open wifi networks.
Agree, this is my inherent problem with Google. They make money on what? Advertising. They're in the data business - the more ways they can get it, the more ways they can make money.
Same here.Google Apps for Business here and says hangouts has not been authorized for my domain. I already use google + app and can use hangouts there. Can't find anything in the domain settings that would prevent the hangout app from being authorized.
Yes... you have to verify your mobile number when you first launch it.does anyone know if the new Hangouts integrates the Android phone's standard texting into it like iMessage does?
Unfortunately the rabid faction of Android users seems to believe Google provides free services to benefit humankind. Saint Page and Saint Brin, raining benevolence and tidings of great joy upon your humble heads.
I expect many Android users will be surprised that Google is actually charging money for their music streaming service (as am I).
