Some people think that "quality materials" means it should and will last forever.
Everything has an expiry date. So long as these things last 3-5 years that's good enough as by then the software, battery, etc. is too old anyway.
I don’t think anybody purchasing an Apple Watch considers quality materials expects the watch to last forever. They’re paying a premium for the aesthetics and maybe the ‘feel’ (As in the added weight of the watch adds to the ‘Premium’ effect.) Anyways, Anyone purchasing a smart watch understands it has a limited lifespan. There’s no real keepsake to a smart watch, not when it has a new version released every year.
