UPDATE: 48 hours after Gel application - I did the back only and it looks pretty good after it completely dried and set, I originally did the sides but I don't like the feel of it and the gloss gave my iphone a cheap look to it.

Gotta say, urs looks great. Ashame the sides give it a cheap look. I wish they made slightly tinted side pieces so they were black like the phone... If you ever get a chance to take a pic in natural light, please do!

thanks - it's been raining here, but i will try to take pics outdoors.

one cool thing or maybe not, is if i set my phone in a glass table the film acts or has a suction cup like effect. kind of different, not bad though.

How long did you let your back protector sit before you pulled the final tab off after you installed it? When I lift the tab after I installed it - it keeps lifting the whole back protector off. Thanks in advance.

i waited about 15 minutes - but again it's dependent on how much gel you used also - it was a PITA to remove the cap sheet. But after 3 days now all the speckles etc is gone. It is still wavy/orange peel effect, but that's the nature of the film.

mine has an issue with where the metal meets the glass. It is pulling away. it is somewhat hard to see.

Also, my back is starting to scratch quite a bit actually. It has been on 5 days now. I may end up buying a case.

i had the same issue too - just keep rubbing it with the included cloth every few hours - it will stick when more of the gel evaporates.

UPDATE: 48 hours after Gel application - I did the back only and it looks decent in terms of film clarity - I assume because it's the ultra-tough film it's not as crystal clear as other film makers???

I just installed the sides and back on mine well about 15 mind ago. I'm thinking about peeling the sides off they feel horrible! The back is decent I suppose, not the best that's for sure.

I just wanted the back covered so I got the carbon fiber from Bodyguardz... Used the 50% deal they had going last week and got it in 5 days. I decided to cover the sides, too. It doesn't fit perfectly, but I have Applecare+ so I am taking near full advantage of the lightness of my new iPhone 5. Putting a Powersupport Crystal protector on the front once they appear online which should be mid October.

That looks terrible. Doesn't fit or crappy install?

It just doesn't fit. You can tell it was a good install by looking at the cutout around the camera.

Some of the original iPhone 4 ones were like this too. It wasn't until a few months after release that skins were cut more accurately.

here it is on black. only downside with side pieces is some lint, but oh well all is protected. I have a ringbo rearth ultra clear plus screen protector on the front.

I have the same lint issue. I"m not sure what to think about it. I"m still not completely used to the side stickers and the lint build up is not helping. Still though, i paid $40 and i'm going to keep it one as long as i can.

my lint issue has seemed to go away or at least I don't really notice it anymore.

I paid $12 for my back and sides kit.

Thanks for paying attention to detail unlike Six8, lol... But as I stated earlier, I just want the back protected from scratches or scrapes, and I didn't want to have to use any gel or liquid substance because who knows how that will affect the case over time.

I never really look at the back but I DO sell my old phone every year religiously... And having sold my old 32gb 4S for $450 ( http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=110954918101&index=0&nav=SOLD&nid=71560375493&trxId=0 )the Saturday after the iPhone 5 came out tells me personally that it's a good payoff to keep my phone in pristine condition. I got mine for $13 with their promotion. (Bodyguards) The other thing I like is that it's so thin that I can still put it in quite a few cases without it pulling the appliqué off.

Received and installed mine this weekend, installation was really easy with the gel. Kind of disappointing that it doesn't extend to the edges leaving mm of the phone exposed (as seen from armoredsaint pics). Quick installation tip, cover up any exposed part of the phone with tape even the mic next to camera, then apply "all" of the gel spreading it all over the phone. Align the film and adjust, the liberal amount of gel helps with the installation. Then squeegee off the gel, make sure you have a paper towel to absorb the the gel as you squeegee. Then wait a couple of hours before removing the last protective film. I also ordered the xtreme guards with the special that they had I'm hoping these extend to the edges.

I got the ultra clear coming soon. will be putting it on before putting on the monoprice bumper I have.

I received mine today in Australia. Ordered on the 19th with the cheap shipping.
I did the dry install and I stuffed up the back and tried to pull it off to get the bubbles out from under the Apple logo but just stretched it, hopefully it goes away when it cures... Just a note for those using dry install- the back piece REALLY sticks to the aluminium especially if you've pushed on it.
I edge was the hardest part and I stretched it around the down volume button :/
Sorry, my digital camera and photo skills aren't that fantastic.

Oh... wow. I never thought I'd see the iphone 5 look so terrible. Zero protection and awful appearance. It's lose/lose.

Like many who posted in the thread already - i have 2 issues with skin:

1. The back skin leaves 2 mm of the edges exposed around the entire edge. Not really thrilled about the lack of full coverage.
2. The skin also seems to scratch very easily. Unlike their skin on the 4, which I had for 2 years, this one is harder and less "rubbery".

When I contacted Bodyguardz, I was told that they would be updating the fitment in a "few weeks" and that they have no intentions of making a skin with the older material. Needless to say, I have already ordered from another brand and will be using them instead.

The newest one has these diagnoal lines from top right to bottom left. I ended up removing it and going with BSE - didn't like it.

Haha I did a shocking job, I'll post pics in 72 hours, hopefully it will look better by then. Otherwise, it's coming off :)

FYI: for those doing the gel install, keep in mind of the microphone hole between the camera and LED flash - especially when you're squeegeeing out the gel

Here's an update of my dry back install.
The edges stayed fine, I put a bumper on the phone today and took it off a couple of times. I don't have the lint monster problem :)
Most of the bubbles on the back are gone except the larger ones which are slowly going away (I think).
