I received my two packs of bodyguards a few days ago. I open only one pack (contains 2 sets), one set of sides (the one covers the button)is completely distorted. I did send the pic to bodyguardz but no reply yet after 2 days.

I will be very honest to judge this product:
Pros:
- so called strong protection against scratches
- easier to apply by using the glue compared to the previous spray

Cons:
- Really feel awful on the looking and feeling. Though there are no visible bubbles, you can see and feel the surface of the protector is not smooth. It may does not matter the back but definitely matter the screen that u need look at at all the time.

- Horrible cut. The back, as you can see from many pics posted by other fellows, it's not perfectly cover all the edges, actually there is about 1-2mm distances from the edge.

- The material they used definitely is oil magnet. You have to keep cleaning it with micro fibre.

Conclusion: Compare to other similar products, bodyguardz is cheap but still not worthy. Trust me, you won't keep it on your phone for a long time.

I just don't get why anybody would put this stuff one their phones. Like what looks worse, havin to use your phone with this ugly skin over it or using your phone naked and getting a scratch on it? Treat your phone with care and you won't get scratches anyway.

Whatever, to each their own.

Some folks suggested other brands. So which one would you recommend over the Bodyguardz protectors?

That's not true. The aluminum is highly susceptible to scratches. Over normal use you will see for yourself...

I have had many Apple products with anodized aluminium like iPads, MackBook Pros, iMacs, Apple keyboards and Magic Mouse/Pad, iPods, and even the Apple TV remote. I have had no problems with regular use without a skin/case.

Now I'm not saying it can't scratch I have an old iPod Mini from when I was younger and more careless with my electronics, and it has scratches on it.

That's why I said treat it with care and you will be fine. I got my White iPhone 5 on launch day and its still flawless, no skins or cases have touched this phone.

EDIT: Some people are just over protective and that's what these skin company's play on.

I have all of those things you mentioned except for the iPod. While you're right about them not scratching, I'm unsure if the iPhone is made the same way or not.
Plus I don't exactly carry my iMac in my pocket/handbag everyday to put it through the same tests :/ My rMBP has darker 'wear' marks in the aluminium from rubbing in my bag when I took it to Uni just once.

not sure why the hate for this product, I love mine. At first glance you wouldn't even know it's on there except from the glossy appearance. My lint issue is no longer evident so for me this is a win win.

I have had all the same products but nothing is as fragile as the anodization on a black iPhone 5 that's for sure. It is also much more apparent when you see how much the raw aluminum shows through the black (or "slate").

Ok I understand that, I have the white iPhone 5 so it's not to big of an issue. But I get that the black one shows any little imperfections. I seen a demo unit at Best Buy today, it looked like it was over a year old and owned by a 12 year old. Apple really messed up on this one.

Edit: it's a shame because the black is so sexy.

For those of you on the verge of Bodyguardz. Stop!
Not sure if these people messed up on installation or have bad photos, but mine are near perfect.

You can hardly tell it's on, and it has a slight orange peel/stickier effect on the back. I love this feeling as it makes the back easier to hold and makes it harder to slide off tables.

I will be posting photos/reviews at the end of this week, after I give my protectors a few days to settle in. The only downside to Bodyguardz is it not covering the entire back, leaving ~1mm off the sides. Top and bottom are around 0.5mm.

I just got my pure glass screen shield today. I just installed it and I am absolutely in love. I am the worst screen shield installer and i actually got this one on perfect with very little imperfections. All in all It feels exactly like the glass, and I am very satisfied. Not to mention I also used the 50% coupon code which can't make the deal get any better. A must buy!

I'm glad to hear that you are loving your Pure Glass screen shield. I am awaiting mine to arrive in the mail any day now.

I'm curious, when you say..."i actually got this one on perfect with very little imperfections..." Can you elaborate on what the (very little imperfections were) and how you would maybe do things differently when installing?

Thanks much.

Yeah actually those little imperfections were 3 little specks of dust in which are so small they are not able to be seen when I am on a blank screen.. So maybe they were just bubbles which have/will be going away. I usually mess up totally when installing screen protectors. This one being glass I feel that it is much easier to install then a plastic one. I have found it easiest to install THIS screen protector by holding the 4 ends of the glass screen protector to line it up then drop it down. The good thing is if you mess up you can pay the $13 for a replacement through bodyguardz replacement policy. Good luck.

Not sure if you would know for sure, but do you own the back protector that had the cut re-adjusted? I ordered the back and sides 9/25 (delivered 9/29) and was recently told they readjusted the back film due to all the feedback stating there was too much aluminum exposed on each side.
I re-ordered a new set today so hopefully it has indeed improved.

I will say I love the Pure screen protector! It was simple to install, love the feel of it and clarity, and with a 20% discount for being a returning customer +50% discount code + lifetime replacements at a reasonable price = great deal!

Loving my bodyguardz.

I just dislike the front protector, so I suggest anyone on the fence to just buy the sides and back protectors.

Definitely agree with this for sure! What a deal!

Nope, I don't think I have the recut one. Compared to other's photos, it still exposes ~1mm. Could I get a replacement?

I actually don't mind the Bodyguardz.. (I use a regular screen protector on the front..)
But the back and sides seem to be okay so far..

How do you like the sharp edges? I placed bunches of these on order but Spigen just release the gras.tr which have rounded edges. I wonder how are they compare!

I can hardly tell it's "sharp". I can't compare to a rounded edge, but it feels perfectly fine to me.

How did they tell you that "they readjusted the back film due to all the feedback"? I received an email response about the issue from them on 10/08/12 and they wrote "The space along the edge of the protector that you are seeing was designed to be that way. We left about 1 mm of space for installation and removal purposes."

It doesn't sound like they have a new back design nor do they plan on doing one in the future...

Hmm.. how does the space make it easier to remove.. or install?
