I tried to tell y'all! The title says it all. You're welcome. :p

Yeah, your comparison with the old Motorola is totally spot on. Really reminds me of that Razr color. And those sold pretty well too. But Apple should know better. Just call it "Rose". Nothing gold about that thing.

Agreed. It's a very cool-temperature pink. It's almost rose silver! Not even close to a warm rose gold.

I was hoping for less of a pink color just because I really liked the color combination of the rose gold with navy accessories. I'm afraid it won't be the same look with so much of a pink color to it. Even the Apple page looked more gold when clicking on the different cases placed on the rose gold. Still hoping for a little more gold in some light.

It's gold because it has a metallic finish. Rose would be flat I'm assuming. Plus it fits with what they're going for, I guess. gold/silver are the color options (other than "space grey). Keeping in line with metals.

You know, this whole time I haven't really said much about how pink I think it is because I hadn't seen it in person. My rose gold Apple Watch Sport arrived yesterday, though, so now I've had a good look at the aluminum.

I didn't think it was all that pink before, and I still don't think it's all that pink--it's too orangey to be a pink (maybe peach or tequila sunrise)--but I get it now. The reason it has a pinkish quality to it is because when the light hits the aluminum, the material has a bit of an iridescent quality.

Personally, I think it's beautiful and badass. Can't wait to rock both the rose gold watch and phone.

I think the color looks "blush"

This. Blush is very "in" right now for fall. It's the color of a lot of faux fur vests, clothes, accent pieces, etc. Rose gold is also very hot this season, but alas, this phone is not rose gold in any way, shape or form. It's metallic pink. The watch is blush. The same way the gold iphone is not gold, it's champagne.

Did no one else get that survey last year? I took the apple survey last year after getting my gold iPhone 6+ and it was a very lengthy survey. In that survey were several loaded questions that were worded in many different ways but all very...transparent. Questions like:

"Is there any other color you'd like to see in an apple product lineup?"

"Would you be interested in an iPhone if it came in pink?"

"Are you satisfied with the current color options Apple offers for products?"

Etc. I knew then that they must be really looking for feedback to conclusively determine whether or not there was sufficient demand for a pink iPhone. Whether it be to appeal to a more youthful audience or their female customers (not saying in any way that color has gender; it does not), a pink iPhone was clearly something they've carefully considered adding to their roster. And I say it's about ****ing time. I've been asking for a pink iPhone for years. Now if they would just make a black bezel + gold iPhone, I'd be done!

I have the rose gold Apple Watch Sport, and neither I nor anyone else I have asked thinks it looks anything like this pink. That phone doesn't have the orange tone in it.

One person said this must be a case of blue/black or white/gold all over again.

At Apple store today and purchased the dock. In the store it looked pink, but in sunlight and under my halogen desk lamp much more copper. So, if you don't like pink, avoid fluorescent lighting.

I agree it doesn't look as pink as that Razr, but it's still on the pink side.

Only due to the pearly/iridescent quality it has due to the way light hits it. It still has an undeniably orange-y base. I'm sure that's why Apple is promoting the rose gold iPhone with an orange fish as the wallpaper.
