hmmm- I am very tempted. my issue with these docks has always been that the phone had to be naked. i am happy to read "Your iPhone sits upright in the dock as it syncs or charges, so it’s ideal for a desk or countertop. Even when your iPhone is in an Apple-designed case, it’s easy to dock. And you can unlock iPhone or use Touch ID without having to remove it from the dock."

My case is third party--pretty thin, to be certain--but fits on the dock just fine.

All rose and no gold. :(

IMO, both gold and rose gold suffer from the same problem: the white antenna lines make the back look cheap. A darker shade of antenna line would have mitigated the problem (space gray and silver).

Or you might opt to put a case on it, but what's the point when you have made a conscious color choice for the phone in order to show off the bling?

I hope Apple releases a 'crystal blue' iPhone 7 in 2016. That'll not only look good, it'll be the most popular color ever. The perfect balance between subtlety/plain and showoff/tackiness. Many women also adore the color blue, no gender identity hangups. It also matches well with fashion and accessories.

Agreed. Not cheap looking though, just not as cute.

And I only want blue if it's Tiffany Blue. :)

You know, this whole time I haven't really said much about how pink I think it is because I hadn't seen it in person. My rose gold Apple Watch Sport arrived yesterday, though, so now I've had a good look at the aluminum.

I didn't think it was all that pink before, and I still don't think it's all that pink--it's too orangey to be a pink (maybe peach or tequila sunrise)--but I get it now. The reason it has a pinkish quality to it is because when the light hits the aluminum, the material has a bit of an iridescent quality.

Personally, I think it's beautiful and badass. Can't wait to rock both the rose gold watch and phone.

not even rose gold.

how the rose gold should have looked

or give us the gold one with a black front

Neither of those are really rose gold either, and that gold iPhone with the black front is pretty ugly too.

+1. I'm willing to forgive the pinkish hue if it had a black front, but pink/white is too feminine for my taste.

Never said I was judging. I don't judge men who choose to wear red pumps either.

Red Pumps = the color of your phone in terms of "judgement"? Get real.

One of them is indeed rose gold. Look more carefully at the picture again comparing the two.

The one with the black front is anodized yellow gold and the one with the white front is anodized rose gold.

He may be stating that the rose gold iPhones do not look like rose gold

He should clarify what he means by that. The real rose gold on the Edition looks copper. However, even real rose gold can vary in color from more pink to more copper (depending on the composition). For some strange reason, Apple has chosen to make the artificial rose gold-colored aluminum pink rather than copper like what you see on the rose gold Edition.

Have you had a chance to use the dock much OP? Curious how you like the floating iPhone? Haha

Seems it puts a strain on the phone and/or lightning connector. Does it wobble or is it solid?

It's sort of funny to me to see so many comments about the "pink" iPhone being emasculating and it taking away a man card. I work in the public school system, in high need high schools. So these boys are probably the most concerned about looking "tough" as any kid you'll find. The trend right now is neon pink backpacks and shoes. So I really predict the entire school getting the rose gold phone.

And yet adult men are worried about their man cards? Just a little strange to me. But then it's good to know that my kids are a little more secure in themselves...

Not worried about manliness of colours - just good taste versus bad. The pink iphone looks tacky - especially with the white bands. Compare with the elegant colours of the new Samsungs. I stayed with Apple but it was hard not to upgrade to the Samsung Edge because the design and colours just seem so beautiful in comparison. Had a look in a shop and those screens are just incredible. Yet possibly foolish loyalty made me order the pink iphone....before I realized how pink it is. Just drop the "rose gold" nonsense. It is PINK.

You mean the Samsungs that have dirty fingerprint markings all over them whenever I see them?
Fingerprints you wipe off -though not ideal - but the colours are nice..

You do have a point, but Apple will sell more "rose gold" iPhones than "pink" iPhones.
Agree. Calling it rose gold brings to mind a kind of red'ey copper. And I fell for it - thought all the leaks were fakes. Even now after seeing various photos of the pink dock am clinging to hope that maybe - just maybe - the phone in my hands next Friday will look more copper than pink... #sigh#

Just to add... some say cancel your order and get another colour.. well, I dislike the silver. I dislike the space grey -too light. I have the gold previous model and don't like the whitefront on it..so there is nothing on offer I like in the range as far as colour is concerned. The Rose gold idea offered some hope of getting something to actually enjoy. Until it became pink.

You can always customize the color (they can put the original back piece back on the iPhone if you suffer a manufacturing defect and need to take it in for warranty purposes).

Not OP but it's pretty solid for me. I wobbled it around for a little bit just for craps and giggles. LOL

That red is pretty nice! Shame you lose your warranty. Apple should offer a bespoke customization service! Couldn't do this to mine as my new contract means I exchange 6s to 7 next year for free..

I linked this in a different thread, but it's an accurate color representation of the dock, which is the same color as the phone.
