I was having big issues with my iPad Pro 12,9“, too.
I turned out the culprit is the „Zoom“ feature.
It seems to me, from my experience and from what i read online, that the 2017 iPad Pro are the most severely affected, with the problem coming more frequently and with more disruptive impacts on normal use than in the other models.
My second generation 12.9 will often stop responding to touch all together and after many many attempts and using the home button to close and than reopen it starts responding again. I also get frequent problems with the keyboard. I have been super frustrated with this and it’s actually made me start using my iPad less because it’s so disruptive when it happens. I have been thinking of maybe not using my iPad as my main internet device anymore and switching to a Lenovo laptop. Especially if the newer iPads have the same issue.
Knock on wood- I’m not seeing this on my iPad Pro 9.7 2016 model which is running iOS 12.1.1.
Lenovo makes very nice laptops, you can't really go wrong getting one of their ThinkPads - I love the keyboards and the prices are reasonable if you choose a low- to mid-spec'd model. However as far as internet devices, may I suggest a 2017 MacBook? Mine feels as light as my 12.9" iPad Pro, but on my lap, with its great trackpad, it is simply the best (IMO) for internet and mainstream productivity uses. And they are popping up on sale from time to time with LARGE discounts. They are underrated!
Same here. 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 never has had this issue. My 2017 12.9 however does (original and replacement unit). Both running latest iOS.
i did. And with me over 30 other people who ask for advice on computer things. To creative suite guys i recommend powerful "modular" windows desktops (lol). Those wo rely on mac software (eg FC, Motion...) i recommend a Hackintosh with powerful "modular" desktop. Guess what the friends of these 30+ people will do when they see a 2000k DIY Mac outperform apples 5K machines, while being fully, easily and cheaply upgradable and repairable. So you stopped buying apple products because of all this right?
I admire you for sticking to your guns and not buying from a company that doesn’t do right by you. Too often we see people who clearly just want to trash apple products all day long and aren’t happy with them, but stay with them anyway so their complaints are falling on deaf ears anyway. If more people stopped financially supporting companies that don’t do right by them, it would encourage a hell of a lot more change and innovation than complaining.i did. [doublepost=1554769021][/doublepost]I have been have the touchscreen issue with the new 12.9" 3rd generation iPad Pro 1 TB model. It was working perfectly for the first few months for me with the Apple pencil and the touch screen response. Then I started noticing it was being non-responsive to the Apple pencil very frequently and it was so aggravating that I brought it to Apple and they gave me a new Apple pencil. The new Apple pencil has been working very well, but then I noticed the then started to be non responsive to scrolling, finger swipes, tapping apps, etc. Sometimes it is non responsive for up to about 10 seconds, then will work perfectly for a while. It seems very intermittent. It is very aggravating. The touch screen responsiveness improved right after the last iOS 12.2 update but now seems to be slowly returning. It is not as bad as it was - but I am thinking of getting a replacement it it keeps occurring. I am not sure if it is a software or hardware issue. It has occurred after fresh reboots with no apps running.

I’ve not had any trouble with mine for a little over a week now. I’ve been using it the same way in the same place and everything is working properly. It does start to act up on occasion and I have a little bottle of anti-static spray That you spritz on the front of your shirt in your hand and the problem goes away. I believe the issue is static electricity. From what I’ve read of users with problems, most are using them in their lap. When you’re arms and the iPad are touching the same cloth is where I notice the problem, I believe our fingers are becoming static neutral. If you don’t want to get and use static spray, next time it happens hold the iPad up in the air with one hand take the other hand and lightly rub around the metal perimeter of the iPad with the other hand. And then start to use it again and see if that works.

Curious: what did you end up replacing all your apple products with?
Liked because you and @seadragon filmed the issues you were having.Another example:
