How often do OS X's come out? OS X Mavericks just came out. BTW, is it 'the norm' to update a few times a year? (As it seems that each OS X is released.)

I'm guessing that you don't know much about California since your forum tag says you're from Istanbul but Monterey is nowhere close to Apple's headquarters. That's over an hour drive away.

Da**, I did not know you don't have google maps in the US.

Here in Finland we do (and if you give me your adress, I could probably figure out the color of your roofing), and I'm guessing they have google maps (and other freely accessible geographical services) in Istanbul as well.

P.S. According to this fantastic technology I found out, that in current traffic (see timestamp from message) 1 infinite loop to mavericks is barely under an hour's drive (with monterey being 20 minutes farther).

RGDS,

I really think you didn't check out where my post originated from. If you had perhaps you may not have responded to me this way?

Another poster said Monterey was close to Apple Headquarters, I just replied saying not it wasn't it is over an hour away. I personally don't care if Apple choose landmarks near or far away from their headquarters, I was merely pointing out that an hour drive isn't considered "close to the destination".

Where your post originates from? How should I know. you state your "affiliation" as "United States", but I cannot know where your post originated from, any more than you can know whether I was in Finland or in Fisherman's Wharf when I posted my comment.

In any case, whether an hours drive is "close" really depends on where you're from and what you are used to. I wonder how an hour compares to the length of a typical Apple HQ worker's commute...

RGDS,

That's what made me think of Rincon. As I mentioned, it's an "extreme" Jeep trail (the most successful have been driving the small Wrangler type, although some have tried Humvees - with varying degrees of success). Being a Jeep owner, we heard of "Jeep Jamborees", and Rincon was among the most challenging.

Sorry, Rincon is not a jeep trail. You are thinking of The Rubicon Trail.

Rincon IS the name of a surfing location.

Dude, Seriously??? You questioned something I wrote. I recommended that you read where my POST originated from. Was that really so hard to understand? I'm talking about where the conversation started in the thread that lead to what I posted that you replied to. You really thought I meant what country my post originated from?

Sure why not:

Rincon

It's well know for being a challenging Jeep trail. Something rugged - seemed along the lines of Mavericks.

I hate to admit it, but I was talking about it the other day. :)

Yea, it'll be 10.10

I think they would choose rubicon

OS X Dahmer
OS X Bundy
OS X Manson

and so on.

I think they would be great. Not sure what the image on the DVD's would be though.

EDIT: I miss understood the OP. I thought they meant the next set of names AFTER the new set are ended. So I say OS X Burbank will be the next.

But Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard aren't one word names.

I am also guessing it's going to be Norterhn California. So, Yosemite is not that close to Apple HQ maybe but it's Nor Cal. Could be OS X Monterey, that's relatively close. I rule out Santa Cruz because I'm assuming it's going to be single word. Yosemite looks and sounds good though. I can totally see OS X Yosemite 10.10. :D

forget the landmarks...

You are all wrong.
Mavericks is clearly the plural of maverick, unbranded cattle.
They have moved from cats to cattle.
Since 10.9 is a little wild, breaking of from the herd, it is a maverick.
Hence, it will be followed by:
Calves
Cows
Bison
Buffalo

I would like to explain why it is plural, but I am too tired.

Hey

Just an FYI, a 1 hour drive is NOT considered far for Bay Area/California residents. Heck, I drive to Monterey for dinner every once and a while - good seafood and more. The whole area is an upscale and sophisticated community.

A 1 hour commute is not rare by any means as well.

Monterey, Yosemite, Redwood, etc sound good!

I like the sound of Skylake (intels successor to Broadwell) it sounds mind opening and reminds me of the last few Sonic 2 levels
