If you thought the price of iPhones pros was ridiculous can’t wait to laugh at the price of their luxury lineup

Feels to me like Apple knows there will be foldable phones coming in a couple years, sees how much Samsung etc charge and wants to charge even higher, and expects to be more mass market so is incrementally getting everyone used to that $2K price with pro/ulltra phones creeping towards it.
Apple doesn’t have vision anymore. They just see foldables and want to have one in case anyone wants one. It will be niche for them just like it’s niche for samsung. Apple lacks the vision to say no to products like that.

I agree! Sometimes I do miss this iPhone lineup. Offered in only 2 exclusive colors. Nothing else, nothing more. Simpler times!

What would be a neat addition is if the rear shell had an e-ink sort of display and the colour could be changed via the OS, this was there would be no additional colour SKU’s and just the ones for display size and storage starting at 256/512/1TB.

Having more SKU’s for colour complicate inventory and demand and having an e-ink rear display only for colour or personalization would be very unique, consider the entire rear shell display changes colour for certain types of incoming iMessages, emails, FaceTime, calendar notifications or reminders, notes, etc. E-ink would also take up minimal battery if adjusted to change the colour once in awhile vice being dynamic similar to AOD.

We should have some names of people making these decisions. So we can historically call out who rode apple into the dumpster again. Hello 1990's!

This is also another sign that we are likely in peak iPhone too. Maybe Apple should go back to charging for OS upgrades.

yup.

Apple is MacOS. It is what saved Apple. All they had to do was keep making affordable consumer devices and pro devices that kept them in line with the PC industry. it was a simple grid. iMac, iBook ... powerbook, powermac. Now they are all over the frigging place. no one even understands what they are buying anymore. MacOS is slowly being molded into working with proprietary frameworks and having no clear advantage over windows and other platforms again. Developers are going to stop wasting their time on a platform that has no hardware support for common standards.

The initial FOMO crowd will jump on this but once the high wears off the justification begins, it’s like the AW Edition in Gold etc. This is tech it will be obsolete the following year in some manner. Unless someone plans to keep this device for 4-5 years and looking to replace or have an iPhone/iPad device I can see the point otherwise it’s a risky gamble for the mass market.

The tech will be obsolete in the same timeframe as the rest of the lineup.

With AppleSilicon even a budget M1/M2 is a capable machine unless you want the additional bells and whistles of ProMotion, brighter display, miniLED, 6 speakers, extra ports, higher memory bandwidth and faster SSD for everyday use it’s illogical.

I use my iPad Pro more than my MacBook Air and remote login for anything macOS specific. In my situation it’s internet and network connection that is key.

In addition, it would be nice if Apple brings the iPhone Mini back. This should be the 2024 iPhone lineup.

  • iPhone Mini
  • iPhone Pro
  • iPhone Pro Max
  • iPhone Ultra
Move the regular iPhone line up towards the Spring and get rid of iPhone Plus.

Can we also get iPhone Ultra in Product Red, please? I miss the Product Red iPhone.

It’s actually
iPhone Mini

Both sizes of iPhone pro are the same phone. Different sizes only.

How exactly will it be obsolete in a year?

What do you mean "they just noticed"? Phones have been over $1000 for several years at this point. Samsung has phones even more expensive than Apple...and whether those phones are worth it is up to the individual making the purchase.

Pure conjecture. And while this may be true in instances, divining the motives of the masses through some internet abracadabra is not doable.

How do you know the people who want these phones don't feel they are worth it?

Maybe the phraseology could have been better, but please don't lose your health over an anonymous internet forum discussing Apple products.

There's enough cognitive dissonance to go around.

You must be a shareholder for Apple. This is the only justification I can make for your comments, as it isn’t healthy to be this defensive / cultish / fanboy-ish over a COMPANY that is run by people who frankly couldn’t give 2 f*cks about what you think of it.

How anyone can sit there and be HAPPY that a company is raising its average price per unit yearly is beyond me. It is anti consumer, pro shareholder.

So again I’ll say it again, you must be a shareholder, otherwise you need to give your head a wobble if you are happy to hand over more money to a company producing increasingly more buggy software / products.

Can I place an order for 2 of these bad boys, please? Take my money! RIGHT NOW!!! 😖😖

This has been reported or rumored for what, 6-12 months? I'm not sure how everything I read is people acting like it's news?

If anyone from Apple is reading this for whatever reason, as someone who always gets the new Pro Max every year-just dont make it portless. Myself and many others don't use and dont want to use magnetic charging. Not to mention, we dont own cars with wireless CarPlay either. I'd rather the damn thing be $1500+ than portless.

I think the Pro model will be different than
Ultra. Ultra has a lot more to offer so it can differentiate from the iPhone Pro lineup. iPhone Pro has to offer the best of the best. Think of this concept.

Apple Watch Series 8 - iPhone Pro Pro Max
Apple Watch Ultra - iPhone 15 Ultra

Apple has talked about wanting to go portless for years now though, so I'm sure as some said they will introduce it as a premium feature, they'll get people to think it's cool as wireless is always "cooler" or whatever.

But in reality...lol.

Why? I can’t imagine any practical need for it. I don’t know why they think consumers would pay an ultra high premium for a phone when the so many in the US use monthly device payment plans through their carriers or through Apple. Then again there are people who pay upwards of $15K for solid gold or diamond encrusted phones so maybe there’s a market?

Assuming ProMotion, which would be a given for this device, I’d trade my iPad Mini 6 for this 7” Phone.
