I don’t really need any new devices this year, but I might be talked into upgrading my XR to a 13 Pro Max. I miss that big screen of my 6s Plus and I’m hoping 5G will improve my data connection in more places. Plus ProMotion is welcomed.

I thought ProMotion didn’t make a difference to me, but I compared the display of my iPad Air 4 to that of my wife’s M1 iPad Pro 11”, and the display does look noticeably sharper. If the phone’s display also looks sharper as a result of the ProMotion, that seems like a solid upgrade.
The 6s Plus had a 5.5 inch screen and the XR has a 6.1 inch screen. How can you miss the smaller screen?

I miss the wider, notchless screen. It seemed easier to read on it. After more than two years, I still dislike the notch. So glad the iPads never adopted that design.

I would guess "M1X" probably means they'll have the same RAM, USB bus, and external display constraints as the M1 - just a faster processor.
that would be unlikely as these are replacing the higher end MBP that already support 32GB RAM, ports and multiple displays. The M1 could get by with limits on those items because it targeted the lower end of the range, but they are not going to be able to skate by with those on these models.

So, serious question. Are all the people on the Apple upgrade program screwed for a month because last year we couldn't sign up until later or is Apple going to be cool about it and let us go a month early this year? I have been in the Apple Upgrade program for iPhone since it started.
Apple considers iUP customers to be their most valuable, and there is exactly zero chance that iUP customers will be screwed by this.

Get on with it.

Considering the fluff in most of the recent events they could fit this into one presentation.

They need to go back to Jobs precision in presentations. Of late, it’s been so long and dull it would send anyone to sleep.

A 13 Pro Max is set for me, hoping for a 1TB version.
What I would love to see is a flat, credit card sized version of the Airtags.
For what I do the MBA M1 is perfectly fine but a dark blue MBP M1x would be tempting ;-)

We knew there were production delays for the MacBook Pros since WWDC, but still— about time.

Looking forward to these machines.

But currently it is still the same architecture but probably with just a few more graphics cores. If it’s still called M1”something” then I’d expect the same limitations and features. That’s my base level of expectations.

They can always shatter my expectations, of course.

It thought Jon Prosser was GOAT apple leaker 😂
Everything Gurman has said in this article has been said months ago by Prosser.

Gurman is really struggling to stay relevant lately and attacks Prosser whenever he can.

Nothing in this article is new information and anyone of us could have predicted it.

Prosser is a tubby clown but he seems to have some actual leaks within Apple somewhere while meat head Gurman wants to be in that world but has to rely on guess work.

I gave up on the iMac when I saw the redesign. Before that I was absolutely convinced it was going to replace my 2019 27".

If the rumours are true then a Mac Mini Pro would be my new direction. That and a a really good ultra wide monitor which I can also hook up my work laptop to, and have everything centralised on one screen.

Shouldn't be a surprise. Jobs said the same thing about PPC Macs during the Intel transition announcement, claiming that Apple still had some PPC products on the pipeline. Reality said otherwise.
You're right about that, for sure.
