With the M2 being more power hungry in such a tight enclosure, I would seriously advice people to wait for reviews before preordering.
Other than your guess, what is your scientific/engineering basis for this advice? Are you a computer engineer? Why in the world would I give any credence to your recommendation, which I will completely ignore and order one of these? Do you seriously think Apple is that bad that they gave no consideration to heating, etc? Oh, it's "seriously advise", not "seriously advice".

The M2 is currently the fastest chip in the world for web browsing. It has the highest score to date on Speedometer and it's a lot higher than M1. I don't understand why downplay the M2. I use the M2 MacBook air and the M1 iPad Pro and the M2 is slightly better at handing complex web apps in Safari, like Google Docs and Google Sheets.
This says more about the sad state of the web than about anything else.

And I’m sure the new iPad Pro will be just enough of a change in form factor to require an all new Magic Keyboard.
Doubt it. The whole point is for Apple to be able to service their entire iPad lineup with a single Smart Keyboard design, thereby streamlining their manufacturing.

This Gurman guy must be well connected. New iPad based on the new chipset. Curious what he will predict about the iPhone? Rumor has it they release new iPhones.

I don’t care about updated iPad Pro’s, but I would love it if they updated the Magic Keyboard, perhaps adding a thicker aluminum base with integrated battery, so that the combined iPad Pro and keyboard last closer to what the MBA does. The added weight wouldn’t bother me, as the measly current battery life is such a negative.

Serious question for those complaint about a landscape camera: what are the chances Apple allows you to use your iPhone as a camera when in landscape mode? They introduces this in MacOS so it should be easy to implement in iOS. Would this solve the problem for the people who complain about this non stop?

That would make the iPad too much like a Mac product and we can’t have that

My 2017 iPad Pro is still kickin. It’s more than enough for what I need. But I won’t lie that I’m always a little tempted when new iPads come out.
Same here, rocking the 2017 iPP. It surely does everything I need it to do, in terms of performance the current iPad Air is more than sufficient to me, however, I have grown to love the better speakers & ProMotion display of the Pro. If the 2022 iPP update is incremental, I actually consider getting the 2021 iPP at discounted price as again, it is more than future-proof for what I am doing with it.

I guess iPad OS 16 then too?
They announce it, presale Friday, and released next Friday…. One with iPadOS 16. My guess.

I have a 9.7 pro from 2016. I would be fine with an iPad Air, but I want to see what these bring.

I’d accept an increase in weight of the keyboard if they decreased the weight of the iPad itself. The 12.9 quickly gets painful to hold when I use it like an actual tablet.

What could possibly make someone upgrade from an M1? New color, front camera location change, magsafe…
People don't upgrade their iPads on a yearly basis. People keep these for 5-7 years.

I, for one, wouldn't upgrade an M1 iPad, especially considering that no current software on Earth is able to bring it to its knees yet.

Final Cut and Logic Pro ?

Who suggested that anyone would bother upgrading from an M1 model? The year-over-year upgrades are not intended to lure people to upgrade from the previous generation.
