It's been over a decade since WiFi analyzer was released, and Apple doesn't even update their API to allow for radio channel scanning on iOS. This would be a great feature.

Another great feature would be to allow multiple Apple IDs on my iPhone. I have a me.com email that I never use, all because my iTunes account predated it.

Give Saurik what he deserves and just put Cydia on the AppStore once and for all. This would literally solve every complaint and request here as whatever you can possibly imagine has already been done years ago.

Hi. My wishlist is long:

Apple iOS

  1. Photos / Markup. Heal, Blur and Replace color (fill) tools.
  2. Weather. Add date next to day name. E.G. in Polish: „Pt, 28.03”.
  3. Clock. Option to set adjustable alarm volume.
  4. Wallet. 1. Display cards in 2 columns instead one and not one above the other. 2. Option to add other cards by scanning qr, barcode or simly adding number. 3. Option to change background of each card even Apple Pay.
  5. Safari. 1. Built-in anti-ad filter. 2. Built-in option to rebuild pages that don't have dark mode to dark mode (as Hyperweb app does). 3. Built-in css styles for a given page or portal (as is done by the Makeover application).
  6. Maps / Calendar. Better address search (address name contain..). When Street full name is E.G. Jana Henryka Dąbrowskiego and I search „Dąbrowskiego” it will not find it. This is problematic because the name of this street is Dąbrowskiego and hardly anyone knows what the full name is.
  7. Share sheet. Adding new reminder. Select list directly on first view instead going to details.
  8. Phone app. Option to disable and hide voicemail.
  9. Call blocking - Ability to add a phone number (not a contact), possibility to add numbers with * which will replace any digit and ability to add a note to each blocked number.
  10. Messages. 1. Option to send one message to many recipients, but separately not making group. 2. Long press on message - option to share (not forward). 3. In the case of two sim cards, the indication in the conversation from which line we are writing (main or additional), can be, for example, by a small icon in front of the contact's name. 4. Remove app galery row, camera icon and app icon. Instead of all this just add simple + (add) button and actions sheet: take photo, from gallery, add file, app gallery etc.
  11. Settings. Keyboard. Add always on numbers row to keyboard.
  12. Settings. Passwords. Access to this by entering iCloud password.
  13. Settings. Option to disable widget panel and app library.
  14. Settings. WiFi. 1. Option to join wifi without internet and it didn't disconnect this connection. 2. Built-in speed test and net monitor.
  15. Camera. Afer taking photo show preview (maybe like taking screenshot?). If clicked it will enlarge, if not it will disappear with animation.
  16. New app - Decibel meter.
  17. Mail. Change the name of the All mailbox to Inbox and create a mailbox that will really contain all messages - incoming and outgoing.
  18. Always on display. Option to choose always show status bar (with battery level).
  19. Files. Ability to create a new empty file (.txt, .php, etc.). Editing text files (.txt, .php, etc.).
  20. Shortcuts. 1. Ability to turn on/off main and secondary lines. 2. Triger shortcut by phone shortcode or Phone app: „when i’am calling to”, „when i end call with..” and „when X call to me”.
  21. Control Center. Ability to turn on/off main and secondary lines.
  22. Notes. Ability to share text only or text with links.

HomePod

  1. Polish Siri language. Or at least basic phrases that allow you to control the music (play, stop, further, quieter, louder, etc.) and control the house (turn on, turn off, open, close, start the scene, etc.).

Apple Watch

  1. Typing does not work properly - it doesn't work in many places. In many, the writing language changes from time to time. It should be that if we have a language set that is not supported by writing, then the device should use it as English.
  2. Menu in the form of 3 x 3 apps, in a simple iPhone-like layout.

Apple Home

  1. Option to share individual rooms or devices, not just the whole house.
  2. Temperature display accurate to 0.01 degrees Celsius.
  3. Infinite number of triggers (currently only one).
  4. Interval-based trigger, e.g. every 15 minutes from 8:00 to 16:30.
  5. Switching houses after clicking on the name of the house (at the top of the House tab).
  6. House name at the top of the Automation tab.
  7. Climate tab division: Temperatures in a separate tab, Humidity in a separate tab and Blinds in a separate tab.
  8. Option to display Scenes the same way as fixtures, i.e. without scrolling to the right, only e.g. two columns and scrolling down.
  9. Widget. Selection of one temperature sensor.
  10. When testing the automation, leave the elements that have been launched in green color background (in order to test what is triggered).
  11. The ability to enter a number or text directly in the Set variable.

How about notifications of missed calls?

DUHHHHHH, Apple. 15+ years, and still not fixed. Embarrassing.

regarding Siri, how about just keeping the front end and plugging it into ChatGPT. Siri isn't salvageable and hasn't been for a long long time.

Those app designs look absolutely gorgeous! I don't know if it's nostalgia or what but those app designs are a million times better than what iOS 7 brought
Agreed. Though iOS 7 did have a very clean, cohesive and fun look. They’ve watered it down since then, the colors are more subdued, the icons are smaller, transparency is toned down, etc… & nothing beats helvetica neue for me 😍

iOS 1-6 gives me cozy vibes, 7 and up more of an airy, summertime look. It would be cool to be able to swap between them honestly for different times of year or moods. Come on Apple, we have the technology :)

iPod touches on 7.1 and 6.0:

Hopefully they will provide an always on display feature that will actually remain on ALL of the time, rather than one that decides to turn the display off.

WTF would I want to enable always on display, and then have it turn the display off after periods on none use.

Since when not being a blind fanboy is being a critic?

IOS gets a lot right, some wrong.
Not acknowledging this doesn’t do service to anyone (except maybe Apple stockholders and even then, only in the short term)

My man, thou assumeth too much - where did I say everyone (or anyone) should be a blind fan boy here? (hint: nowhere. You made that up.)

Rather, my comment was a reaction to the fact that I read through over 100 comments on this post, and I found one positive one (and even that was praising the Snow Leopard release from over 10 years ago).

Every other comment is critical.

Now, some of those critical comments are constructive and useful.

But many of them are just cynical.

Hence my reaction - there is no "iOS gets some right, some wrong" here.

I thought I was doing something wrong. My AOD only stays "always on" if I have it charging. Off the charger, the AOD is more like a "30 second extra display".

The iOS 17 and macOS 14 carry the same internal codename „buggy beast“.

Apple should stick to its original plan for all 2023 releases and focus on fixing bugs while improving stability and performance. After that, Apple should switch to a tic toc schema, like we had with the iPhones. Every feature release should be followed by a stability release.

User should have the possibility to upgrade only to stability releases, while receiving all bugfix and security updates.

But marketing and Tim want features all the time. Fire Tim!
