I’d love to see stock widgets become more useful. I use the 4 person contacts widget and there’s easily room to add the message and call buttons under the names, in the same way you can with an individual contact. I don’t understand why it isn’t an option. Sometimes it seems like Apple thinks we are all using our iPhones with maximum size text turned on.

Not quite.. iOS is still updated regularly, and not just for 2 years.
What do you mean?
Android has yearly releases as well. Many Samsung and Google phones receives updates for 5+ years.

Tim, just make sure iOS18's Siri knows who I am. After all, I am the most important (only) male in my household. She shouldn't have to ask me who I am twice a week!!!

This has been the direction for iOS for the last few years. The last few versions borrowed quite a few features from Android.
At the end of the day having more options, more flexibility is great, those that don't want it, they can just keep using iOS the same way they've been using it until now.
Now if Apple will announce a few changes/upgrades for the notification system it would be brilliant.

All this super high-tech stuff like changing colors and moving icons around is mind-boggling. I can finally understand why Android i so far ahead!
If they are finally able to introduce the ability to type "Hello World' on the home screen then all bets are off! I don't want to sound like a doomer but perhaps it is time for a moratorium until we can wrap our heads around these new technologies.

I don’t want to change colour I want new app icons like macOS with a 3d look with a shadow, I’m worried now it’s just same with a different colour

Exactly.

Current icons all stink. I'd like to be able to replace them with the previous good ones.

As an example, Firefox icons have gone seriously downhill over time. I've replaced the one on the Mac with the good one from 2009, it would be great to do that on the iPhone too. As a bonus, it doesn't have the awful square box around it.

(I like the 2004 icon's fox better, but the 3d globe is MUCH nicer from the 2009 icon. 2013 is much worse, 2017+ is just unspeakably awful.

Now you too can have an iOS interface that looks like the demon spawn of your great aunt’s Windows desktop and a Winamp skin!
This is exactly why they haven’t given users that ability so far

But this sounds like a way for them to maintain some control over what the icons look like, while still giving users some customization over color palette, so they can make an “aesthetic” home screen. That’s what i’m hoping for 🤞

that's a welcome change actually. I always felt the messages bubble should be blue, and the notification of red badge on green icons was always eye pain inducing

Strange. Mines the other way around.
Also if you need to create a custom password, it still saves it. Not much of an issue.
Nope. Apple password don’t comply with many sites… datxUp-zuhcu5-kedjox

Apple just uses the same format for every password. One upper, no symbols (just -), too long, etc. They need a lot more controls to specify password formats (excluded symbols, number of symbols, uppers, etc). I should have to override the password it generates. Computer should make my life easier not harder.

Finally able to put icons where you want. A feature that should have been available with iPhone 1. One o them courage things again?

This isnt even remotely good enough. I want to change the grid size for more apps at once and I want to remove the titles of the apps.

"Biggest update ever," they've said, or at least, the rumor mill has suggested.

I know this is just the beginning and just a snapshot of what we'll actually get, but the leaks I've seen so far do not seem terribly exciting or compelling. They're certainly not enough to breathe new life into the platform, if it even needs it.

I swear to god, if they promote this as a feature, I’m going to visit their office like Stewie Griffin.

This is worse than a year’s worth of effort to change “Hey Siri” to “Siri”.

Tim Cook finally pressed the emergency “let Apple users customize their iPhone” button after seeing dwindling iPhone sales.
These features might get current users to continue buying iPhones but it isn't going to get Android users to switch.
