Wonder if Apple will do a windowed case, like for the Samsung S5?
After reading it further, it's because of the 1Hz screen. Basically the AoD will be your actual lockscreen remaining on the whole time, and thus having the 1Hz screen is crucial to have that feature without draining battery. We'll see how effective that is in real life. Why Pro only? Battery?
Android took advantage of OLED properties early on by making simple AODs with time/notifications that continually improves now with widgets etc. But they're specialized to preserve battery life, utilizing mostly black properties of OLED.
But I guess Apple's interpretation of AoD will be the actual full lockscreen being on all the time....
But I can really see the selling point of the 14 Pro models now. No phones have their actual real lockscreen becoming the same AoD yet. I guess Apple wins on that one.
This is terrible. If you want to be incognito at night, you can't be. This could be very dangerous and will open Apple to major lawsuits.so pockets will glow in the dark now?
An iphone warming up my leg in winter actually sounds great. In fact, Apple should build a heater into future iPhones! And get uncomfortably warm.
You will surely be able to turn the AOD off via settingsThis is terrible. If you want to be incognito at night, you can't be. This could be very dangerous and will open Apple to major lawsuits.
How's that effect battery life I wonder? I hope you can also set it to be active only certain hours.Looking forward to the always on display. Having weather, battery % would be useful to have Without needing to touch your phone
Titanium would bump the price up by at least $100.Brushed stainless steel would be better like they had on the iPhone 4/4S models.Gurman needs to speculate about a titanium chassis for 14 Pro Max.

LOLz. So android can do it (with phones only going to 10 Hz but apple can't?) This is nothing more than holding off a feature to try and get some more upgrades.Small correction to the article: IPhone 13 Pro’s Promotion display CAN’T go as low as 1Hz, at most 10Hz. That makes the always on display not feasible for the 13 Pro phones.
Looking forward to disabling it as soon as I get the device in my hand.
I have absolutely no doubt its going to be boring with minor if any changes from the 13. I will just get it and use it. Not excited one bit unfortunately. Was it about one week ago everyone was bemoaning how boring the iPhone 14 series was going to be?
