M2 with 24GB RAM should improve performance and layer count in Procreate...?
The M2 is the replacement for the M1, so how would it be slower...?
Creative industries where drawing and illustration are important. I use mine for journaling with Apple Pencil as well as reading research, drawing, watching research audio /visual AND with the Magic Keyboard as a word processor. It’s my go-to.Who really uses iPad Pro's to their full extent? Like... what industry are you in? Why are you using an iPad and not a laptop?
So apart from one video editing app you see zero use case for an iPad? I mean sure, nice to have FCP and other niche apps (although Luma probably covers the area well already) but tablets don’t strike me as the best platform for professional video editing in the first place. There are however plenty of things I do on iPads daily that cover my use cases and have nothing to do with editing.Unless we get FCPX for the iPad, I have no use for it at all.
They need more 'Pro' apps on the iPad Pro.....
I doubt the M2 is slower than the equivilent M1 because what would that tell the world about their chip strategy?Mayne iPad Pro is different. I recall some forum members mentioning that for MacBook, M2 is not faster than M1 so there is not point to wait for a new laptop with the M2 chip?
I don't think there will be a notch for just this reason; shrinking the bezels to the point where they can't fit the camera means they would be too small to adequately hold the 13" iPad. I don't think that Apple will change the 13" iPad's size because that would mean all new keyboards, and they already got a bunch of heat for requiring a slightly thicker keyboards with the M1 13". What's more realistic is that the 13" stays the same but there is a 14"+ iPad that has slimmer bezels than the 13". Maybe the 14" is a widescreen iPad using a touch version of the 14" MBP's screen.Won’t a notch be annoying when changing orientation? sure it will feel right in one landscape position which is fine with keyboard cases. Laptops get away with this too, because they are made that way. But won’t it feel weird in portrait when trying to view documents? It’s not like an iPhone where your thumbs/hands can cover the notch at the edge. Maybe I’m overthinking it and I will just get used to it 🤷🏾♂️
Maybe a new form factor? Switching to a wide format could increase screen size to 14" without adding to the width.
Despite reports that Apple is working on a new form factor iPad Pro for release in early 2023, Apple still intends to update its existing 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models later this year, based on comments by well-connected Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

Last week, Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young claimed Apple is developing a new form factor 14.1-inch iPad Pro with mini-LED display and ProMotion that will likely debut early next year. Young's claim about a 14.1-inch iPad Pro was corroborated by "Majin Bu," but the hit-and-miss Twitter leaker also suggested new iPad Pros could be unveiled at an Apple event later this year, which left it unclear which models the leaker expected to debut.
Gurman's latest comments add some clarity to Apple's plans for its iPad Pro lineup and the launch timings of its upcoming devices. In the Q&A section of his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman said he expects Apple to update its existing iPad Pros in September or October, with "M2 chips, wireless charing, and upgrades to the camera system."
Last year, Gurman revealed that Apple was exploring iPads with larger displays, but cautioned that they were unlikely to arrive before 2023 because Apple's attention was still on bringing to market a redesigned iPad Pro "in the current sizes" for 2022.
In addition to the aforementioned upgrades, Majin Bu has claimed that Apple's updated 12.9-inch model will also feature reduced bezels around the display, but this isn't something we've heard corroborated from other sources. I have a MBP for when I need to get work done but and iPad is just so much easier to use and move around everywhere. I would say if I don't need to use a physical keyboard, I would 100% rather use my iPad instead of my laptop. But if I need a real full-size keyboard and mouse, I for sure want my laptop.Who really uses iPad Pro's to their full extent? Like... what industry are you in? Wireless charging on an iPad seems… stupid.
I hope that’s a mistake and, if they’re adding anything, it’s a MagSafe port to free up the USB-C.
Technically the already have wireless charging through the Magic Keyboard.Wireless charging on an iPad seems… stupid.

Apple also addressed that at WWDC. It’s up to developers to use the new tools that Apple is providing them.Run pro apps? You're welcome.

The iPads already have wireless charging with the Magic Keyboard.Wireless charging on an iPad, talk about waste of energy.
