Did Gurman forget the iPad 10th gen?

I remember it was supposed to be released at the October event...

I agree. The AppleTV 4k is expensive, but having come to it from an Amazon TV 4k stick, it is much better in just about every way. I'd have to see if it were worth it to upgrade, though. My TV is only 1080p, so even the AppleTV 4k is too much for me.
I used the Xbox Series X as my hub but the apps sucked. Video was very choppy etc. I switched to Apple TV 4K and I love it too!!

Apple was planning a second fall event in October that would focus on the Mac and iPad, but that may no longer be the case.

A little off topic but wouldn't that be the first fall event since the iPhone event was still technically in summer?

Apple could decide to release its remaining products for 2022, which includes an updated iPad Pro, Mac mini, and 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, through a press release on its website rather than a digital event, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
Would reliable Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman lie to us?

In the same boat. Wondering if 16gb ram on the 1tb version is worth it. Thinking of just getting a 2021 version
what do you use it for? I would love the 16GB just for future-proofing purposes lol, there is nothing I do that requires that much on an iPad.

the rumors of the 14” make me want to just wait.

I’m in college with an iPad Pro 11 m1 I got this year but I want a bigger size and storage since I can't see well should I sell now and get 12.9 or wait ?

Can we just all remember…

Back in March 2022 we had an event which consisted of…

iPhone SE (nothing new)
Same iPad Air (with M1 which already had been promoted to death at previous events at this point)
New colours for iPhone 13/13 Pro

The only thing at this event which made it event worthy was the studio display and Mac Studio (introduction of the Ultra chipset) that was all…

Considering this upcoming event has:

iPad Pros (with new connectivity/MagSafe)
Probably new magic keyboard
Redesigned basic ipad
M2 MacBook Pros
Potentially Mac Pro and Pro Display
Launch of MacOS and iPadOS

This is definitely more of an event than what we got back in March IMO…

On top of this, this prediction is coming from Gurman, who doubled down on the flat edged Apple Watch rumours last year.

I'm guessing they're waiting to release an Apple Silicon Mac Pro until most of the bugs are ironed out with the various plugins in common use with music & video production, eg. see

Maybe it's taking longer than Apple thought?

If no event is planned, I can’t think for the life of me why Apple would have held the iPhone event so early… surely it would have made more sense to hold it towards the end of September especially with the HUUUUGE delay on the 14 Plus… something just not lining up here for me.

Will the news Macs, especially the Mini, be based on TSMC's 3nm process?

"And then didn't come the Mac Pro. Is that going to be the name of this episode?"

Aside from that, that one Space Grey Mac mini is the one Intel Mac Apple still sells, isn't it? Hopefully they're about ready to topple that solitary domino.

I'd be surprised if the the M2 Pro/Max are released and there isn't an event.

Either way, this is the first time since 2016 I've been waiting for a specific update before my own upgrade.

For existing products going to M2 variants a presser makes sense, but the Mac Pro (which is due by EOY according to Apple's transition plan they've stated publicly) would have to warrant something more, that is a big deal. Maybe a Nov "One More Thing" frankly this is easily a reason to use it, seeing as it is the one more piece to the Apple Silicon puzzle.

Yay! As with the M2 MacBook Air, I am looking forward to slower single NAND chip and 256 GB storage for the new base 14 & 16 MacBook Pro's at a higher price. I suppose they we shamed enough not to want to show up in person for that.

I don’t understand a spec bump. There are no new formats and it may make it 0.5 second faster? I’m not sure what that would accomplish except keeping the price too high.

I think the biggest issue of Apple TV is the price of the unit itself. It’s too expensive so I agree that cheaper version (dongle) would help growth.
There are moments where mine stutters. In true Apple fashion they might decide to spec bump the current model with last year’s iPhone chip that they are producing at higher scales than ever to negotiate lower pricing with TSMC, and continue selling the 4 year old units at a reduced price. It’s almost the lazier way to do things, instead of pouring R&D into engineering a lower cost model and leaving the 4K unchanged.

This would be the final confirmation that this will be just a minor spec bump. I'm disappointed that we're probably not getting WiFi 6E. I wonder whether Bluetooth 5.3 will make the cut? Supposedly the new Apple Watches support BL 5.3, so I suppose there's a chance.

Might be time to ditch my Intel iMac 2019 and go with a Mac mini and add a bigger monitor - sure it’s not 5K but I don’t want to wait for the next iMac that could still be 24-inch.

I have to say for a "essential home computer" love my 24" iMac and plan to use it till MacOS stops supporting M1, here's to a long future hopefully and not getting dropped like the initial intel Macs did when Snow Leapord came around.

I predict:

Fall 2022: M2 14"/16" MBP and Mini, and possibly a Mini Pro.

Spring 2023: M3/3nm Mac Pro, Mac Studio, and 14"/16" MBP (all with hardware RT on the GPU's), plus a revised Pro Display XDR to accompany the introduction of the first AS Mac Pro. Not sure if they'll be updating the Air and Mini to M3 then or later.

I think we'll also be seeing a 15" Air and a large iMac, but I'm not sure when.

Those quoting Apple’s own two-year timeline need to remember that statement was made before a global silicon shortage. Plans change. I suspect the Mac Pro will make its debut at WWDC 23.

And those worried a press release only update for the iPad would mean no changes to the design need to remember Apple have released entirely new products this way. Moving a camera or changing a charging port is small fry.
