Picked up my iPad Pro 10.5" today....yes I like the bigger screen...I feels heavier but that could be the extra few mm in length changing the
balance. IOS11 will be the making of this model.
I believe the Air2 was the ' change maker' for tablets and opened up the potential for what we are using today!

Looking forward to "downgrading" to the 10.5 from the 12. I love the pencil and the power of the 12 - it is just a bit to big. Not sure what to do with the 12 - it might move into a otterbox and be used for football (Australian rules) coaching.

I just want to actually be hands on with one before I get one. I use the Pro all day every day at work so a neat tax deduction as well...

Is it recommended to use a screen protector for this if we plan on using Apple Pencil a lot? I can't stand scratches on the screen and am hoping this one doesn't scratch easily.

Take the damn rear camera off this thing, and get USB-C on it too.

I don't get the whole USB-C "need"... you can't connect other USB-C things to it. If you could use Flash memory or printers or some functionality then maybe. What is it about the rear camera you hate? Yeah it sticks out... is that the problem? I see a lot of older users on holiday taking photos and videos with iPads. They like how they can see the huge preview and can sit and share images afterwards without any fuss: no swapping memory cards or plugging things in. Putting iPhone 7 quality camera in this iPad makes sense. I'm sitting there with my better quality camera, unplugging, shuffling adapters, moving files, editing, deciding what to do while they've already posted to Facebook what they are up to. :)

For once, Apple have gone all out to make sure the iPad has latest processor, memory sizing, sound, camera and screen tech. Anyone who hasn't upgraded in years might be tempted.

Apple didn't have the courage to get rid of the headphone jack on this thing?

Well getting rid of it would have angered a few people. Less get angry leaving it knowing you can still use Bluetooth if you wanted to. Can't please everyone it seems...

You could if iOS recognized the device though right? I have a Lightning to USB-C cable for my MacBook Pro, couldn't I connect my iPad to some USB-C device with it?

My guess is that all you need is support in the OS.

I really dont need this over the cheap iPad to do what I need...but i really like that larger screen and latest Touch ID. Just seems a waste for 2x the price for media consumption :(

Rememer that on top of iOS 11 the difference between the “cheap” iPad and the new iPad Pro are significant.

Imo the “cheap” iPad is only a hair better than the iPad 2 (gasps from crowd)

(0:56 in the video, input blocked twice)

When is Apple EVER going to deal with constant input blocking in iOS?

No matter how fast the device is, having to constantly repeat gestures/taps makes it feel laggy and unresponsive.

iPad is becoming more and more of a PC replacement for a lot of people , especially once iOS11 hits. 2-3 years down the line, by next year, it's possible they can give the MacBook a run for their money.

Is there any lag going from the lightning dongle? You can't get rid of the jack on any pro / multimedia device because most of the music apps would be unusable to do audio lag. Headphone jack is a necessity.
