"All of Apple's new iMacs come with matching accessories, so we've got an orange Magic Trackpad, an orange Magic Mouse, and an orange keyboard, not to mention the braided orange cable to go along with it."

Really? ALL of them COME WITH...? I am looking at Apple's store site now and the iMac certainly does not COME WITH the accessories...the magic mouse and trackpad are an additional cost.

I’m looking right now and the mouse is free. The track pad costs 50. If you want both it’s 129.

if companies are successful, apparently they are supposed to sell machines at cost.
That certainly seems to be the opinion amongst many in these forums.

The reason this iMac doesn't cost $999 is because it's not a junk computer like many (although not all) Windows all in ones.

Apple does not play in the low-end market. It plays in the moderate to expensive/very expensive end of the pool.

Comments like this will make them release the next one with an even bigger chin 🤣

You mean you don't like this? Just think of how many more Post-it notes you could fit on there!

I dont know what that link is, it says not found.

I have no issues with the iMac design, but I'm about as far as you could get from the target market.

But that's because unlike the vast majority of people commenting about them, I actually buy computers based on what they are able to do, less so about... the size of their "chin".

I see nothing wrong with that aesthetically. Like I said I’m more worried about what it can do.

Well, geez, that edited image I made was supposed to be a joke (based off your own comment laughing about the idea a bigger chin in post 205), but I guess it fell flat. Guess I should've made the chin even bigger 😂

Sorry maybe you missed my “point” - I was trying to highlight how many people have lost their **** over the smallest details (eg: chin).

if a bigger chin means it can be a better computer I’m all for it. Go full jay leno if necessary.

Oh, ok. Your first comment made it sound like you wouldn't like the idea of a larger chin. I think most people who buy Apple products care a great deal about BOTH form AND function. I agree people shouldn't lose their **** over either of these as long as it's not something atrocious (like if they made the iMac in the shape of an Apple, LOL!).

Yeah sarcasm doesn’t carry well, I’m normally more obvious about it.

I understand that people have preferences that’s natural but the majority seem to be upset because it doesn’t match their own preconceptions about what it would be.

All the moaning about it not being “space gray”, for example - and the hyperbole about “worst design ever” are just ridiculous, they’re like bad caricatures of how people always complain about Apple regardless of what they do - but these are actual people.

Faster than a years old 21” iMac means little. It’s not faster than apples entry level MacBooks or mini. Id take a MacBook over it. But I already have monitors, better kbs. Mouse (who uses a Magic Mouse).

For the average person a MacBook is still a strong consideration with this iMac only really boasting an decent 24” monitor. 300 gets you a 4K 27”‘from dell. Guess it depends on person. Colors don’t do anything for me. Kids laughed and said no. Laptop please. Wife said no. Laptop only.
This is my issue too. It should have been marginally faster than the mini at least. Or with more cores.

Hmm, the colored KB and mouse remind me of something. Not sure what...

Backgrounds matching the computer seem familiar too, as do the general design of them. I sure like the reincarnated "Quantum Foam" over the default Big Sur background.

Pfft. Hold out till they mix things up and bring back the materials used for pre-flat-design iOS/macOS.

Who needs a white bezel or a black bezel when you can have wood grain, or rich corinthian leather, or green felt.
You scoff, but my PowerBook 1400cs had a removable top panel that you could customize with graphics, or replace. I replaced mine with one made of wood veneer.
That’s just classy right there.
