We should be able get Control Center to look like this mockup.
That mockup looks SO good!
I find it a little bit strange that they went for a darker UI for the new Control Center. It doesn't quite seem to match the rest of the lighter UI. Kind of like that's what the Control Center should look like in dark mode.

If you need to manually switch between the two, your router is outdated.

I was replying to them because they were acting as if this is much needed feature. It isn't.

As opposed to much-needed features like "Bedtime Alarm" that the world was clamoring for, LOL.

I personally think it's cool if a phone helps you adapt to your world a little easier (substandard home routers, unusual work Wifi situations, and all); rather than designed to assume a user with an ideal situation. I don't blame folks for asking for a feature that may help them out a lot, even if it doesn't apply to me. Heck, I don't personally get why "Dark Mode" is such a hotly desired addition; but I respect that some ppl here really want it!

My Samsung phone in 2010 pulled up the Networks menu via long-press on the Wifi toggle... seems like the option to switch btw. available Wifi networks would be a natural fit for 3D Touch on the toggle in the control center.

I support feature that add to the experience and the usability. I do not support whining about the lack of completely unnecessary features. Pretty simple. The ability to quickly toggle between more than one WiFi network in a single location is not needed and whining about it is rightly being ridiculed.

Can anyone tell me if you can get to Control Center via the lock screen by swiping up from the bottom still? Or does this open the "old" notifications??

I like that a lot. Apple's design is too chaotic. I suspect they will clean it up before the final release.

I'm pretty sure they won't, although I do like the mockup much more. They even use it in their promo material.
Remember when the ugly iOS 7 icons were presented?Everybody expected those to be replaced before the final release. And here we are 4 years later, still looking at that butt ugly camera icon.

LMAO!

WWDC 2017 replay video in full. Huge mistake!

1:47:32 into the video after Craig frederigi shows off the drag and drop from the dock to open Messages app to the roght of thr Ipad iOS11 you'll notice a tiny cpu process monitor widget running right above the background wallpaper of the girls head LMAO!

iOS 11 is an absolute UI mess. What happened to the harmonious design language that Steve embraced? CC and the App Store are jarring to look at. What is with that white space and large, bold font? There are like four different font sizes in the App Store homepage. Why weren't basic functions included like having two apps open at once or choosing a default app? Why don't we have bundled notifications? Mess.

My next phone will be a Galaxy. I've heard so many great things about it from friends who switched after owning an iPhone for years.

It's a little premature to write off iOS 11 barely two days into a developer preview. Apple has previously tweaked the design during the beta process.

Anyone notice how erratic the auto brightness on iPhone 7 is? Mine keeps dimming way too low. Also I don't like the layout of the lock screen and keypad. Looks childish compared to IOS 10. Maybe some aspects of IOS 10 will creep back into later betas.

You are wrong. This isn't 1999 anymore. Apple releases Public Betas now which as the name suggests, opens the door for newbies who want to get their hands on the software before launch. So with that in mind and the launch of the Public Beta at the end of the month, I am asking a very reasonable question. Is it stable?

I gave some very helpful advice on this forum last year with regards to stability and I had no serious issues (such as files deleting). So if anyone is actually using iOS 11 and doesn't have a lecture for me, please could you share your feedback on your experience with me?

Thanks.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but Beta software should only be installed on non-production and non-critical systems.

And Betas do not linearly become more stable. One version may be "stable" and the next breaks all kinds of things.

I have zero compassion for someone who bricks a mission critical system with a Beta and a then cries out for help.

Having said that, I have put Betas on things I shouldn't have, but at least I knew what I was doing and had a good backup to restore to. But I've also had enough problems that it isn't worth it to me to be able to play with the latest system at the risk of things going wrong.

My kids are all grown, but it seems like there should be a parental settings feature on iOS (and there may be, since I haven't had any need to look for it.) This would be a great place to enforce the use of DNDWD.

What you are asking for is different, as it sounds like you wouldn't be moving while this happens, which is required for DNDWD to kick in.

Tim Cook does not have an eye for aestheticss. SJ did. The current dumbing down and poor UI of IOS and OS over the past 2 years strongly reflect that contrast.

Isn't that the image histogram, surely?

Will iOS 11 slow down the iPhone 6? I feel that sometimes my iPhone 6 is sluggish. e.g. the camera app under iOS10

Maybe too early for this alpha version but it's very disappointing that the 3D Touch app switcher does no longer work, as reported in some videos elsewhere.

I can't imagine why this would be no longer available except that the incoming phones can't support the feature for whatever technical reason.

I do like some of the changes, however, it doesn’t seem like a major update to me. More of an “s” upgrade, if you will. I don’t like the new bold font they’re trying to use, reminds me of a Zune player or something....
I mean... how often would someone REALLY be doing that... Seems like a rather silly "feature" to waste resource on.

Actually this is something I'd love to have too. In my house I have good wifi. However, my devices have a tendency to latch on to a local wifi network from the cable company that depending on where I am outside my house in the yard can be stronger than my home wifi or unfortunately quite weak. I often don't realize I've attached to that network until the wifi quits. It would be nice to need to only go into control center to change networks instead of completely leaving the app I'm in, usually a TV app. On a side note, why is "Settings" not available in slide over or split view?

By the way, a customizable control center has been available on jailbroken phones since 2008 (BossPrefs/SBSettings). Welcome to the party, Apple.

Simplest things they can not do!

1) We need the ability to set the alarm volume at a different level than the ringer.
2) Do not disturb needs to allow different times based on what day it is! Not the same time for all 7 days.

Ugh...

Files App??? Steve Jobs has got to be rolling over in his grave.

It's the most important feature they've done in a long time, in my opinion. Would you have been more satisfied with new emojis? This actually brings some value to professionals. Maybe now I can actually look at replacing my Android device.

I suppose since the screens are getting larger on iPad Pro only, u see the introduction of a MacOS-style dock more often than u would on iPhone..

But iPhone is getting to that stage as well. 9.7-inch dunno about that.

This. So simple, a small tweak, should have had this ability from its introduction a few years ago. Classic example is when one is at work... for 5 days of the week! Completely agree with you...
