You’re jumping the gun. The other difference you didn’t mention is that the note 9 is a year newer than the iPhone X. You can make a more fair comparison when the new iPhone comes out in september ;)

Also, I know you probably get a kick out of spending hours customizing the layout of your home screen and making doodles on your phone, but I prefer to use the time spent on my phone getting shnt done. That’s why I choose iPhone.

And you can argue all you want about the Apple Watch being a hideous square toy. The FACT is that it destroys the galaxy watch in sales. If you like it great, but most people will disagree with you.

And yes, you are correct. Apples customer service is far superior to Samsung’s.
Not to mention that the new note is just a S9+. With more storage and a stupid Bluetooth s pen that you can snap selfies with!!!!

Real innovative Samsung. Try again.

Samsung will never be on Apples level. That’s why Apple sells so many iPhones iPads watches. Cool screen though. That’s about it.

The iPhone X is a mid range phone for $1000, that’s the difference

Less memory, less storage, smaller lower res screen, no S pen, no expandable storage, no headphone jack, bigger battery.....etc

Not saying any of that necessarily makes for a better phone, but at least with the Note 9, you know you are, at least on the hardware front getting plenty for your money.
I find it ironic people keep saying that the hardware on the N9 is superior to the X. And it also blows my mind that you consider the X to be a mid range phone. It’s a year old and still defeats the N9 at all benchmarks (so, I guess that makes the N9 a low range phone?). You can have all the gizmos and gadgets you want on a phone, but they’re all gonna be half baked implementations if you don’t have powerful, optimized internal hardware to power all of it. Samsung is jumping the gun. They’re going for more flash and less stability (especially when they had batteries that exploded). Apple may not be as flashy but they’re certainly more stable, and that’s why it’s so much easier for them to build off of it.

Yea for sure, I am not doubting that they will continue to innovate or have a piece of mobile in the future, but I do see Huawei eating into their business significantly. Samsung's phone costs are getting to Apple levels, but without the sales. Personally I think they should be positioning them selves in the mid-range to better compete with Huawei (and eat into Apple sales as well), instead of focusing on Apple so much.

Yeah i can see your point, but I don't think you usually want to compete with Chinese or other Asian companies directly. Most asian cultures desire American trends, so if Samsung were to not cater to American trends, then they would lose even more by not copying.

No, you're just making the statements you make and wearing that avatar, jeez.

That's what people do in a forum. They post their opinion. Regardless, no need for anyone to get so personally upset. I mean, it's not like I'm going around posting, "I'm the gee gee gee gee gee geegee genius." Apparently, thems, fightin' words. Lol

Yea you might be right there, we'll see what happens.

Really looking forward to the Samsung watch. Not that I would buy one, but hoping it has 3 days battery life to push Apple. Tim needs a bit of fire under his butt. He only probably worked hard when he had the fear of Steve in him!

I doubt it.

If anything, I see Apple doing the opposite. The magic number here seems to be 1 day battery life (18 hours actually, minus the time you sleep), and most users are typically getting close to 36 hours (which allows me to wear my watch for two days without charging).

This means the watch actually has extra juice to burn, and moving forward, I see Apple introducing more features to make use of this surplus battery life.

Most users will charge their watch overnight while they sleep. In this context, excess battery life isn’t a feature which would make a noticeable difference in their daily usage. So I don’t see Apple increasing battery life in this regard.

You are right that it makes sense to charge over night. But then you don't get any sleep monitoring, which we know Apple is working on and has acquired a company or two (Beddit, and I thought another one but I could be wrong).

So that's why I think we will see 36 hour standard at some time, but that's just my guess

I have a S3 Frontier and sleep monitoring is awesome. My watch lasts 2 1/2 days with always on display enabled. Would probably last a full 3 days with always on display disabled. This is why I don't understand Samsung's claims on several day battery life, like it's something new.

But then again, I have the non cellular version. So maybe Samsung means several days with LTE connection?

True but this watch isn't marketed for regular smartwatch users. This is a response to the Fitbit watch. Stick with the s3

Thats how a watch should look? Thanks for your opinion. I happen to think it looks like a hideous cheap casio found at a carnival. The Apple Watch looks much more premium in every way.

No way. The Apple Watch looks like a cheap Casio watch from the 80s, or an iPod nano with a watch band. It's the one product they need to slim but don't. A round watch looks way more stylish IMO, compared to the boring, square screen with fat bezels. However, I do understand a round screen can be impractical in many ways.

I use my Apple Watch for many different things, but objectively I use it to check time the most. So in my eyes, it's a watch first, that can do much more. Yet, Apple limits us with the same old watch faces with the exception of the pride face (which is just fulfilling Tim's personal interests). Why can't they just create a developers kit for watch faces and sell them on the App Store?

I would like Apple to introduce native sleep tracking in the Apple Watch but I’m quite happy with the battery life on my series 3 Watch. I usually charge it every night but on a few occasions I haven’t and I’ve been able to get a second days use out of it with ease.

Because these days it’s becoming the norm

That’s true, but I think Android manufactures are delusional in thinking that they have the same leverage as Apple.

There are tons of options in the Android camp. The same can’t be said for the iPhone. Only Apple makes phones that run iOS, so they have more leverage in charging $1000 for a phone.

Well they need to sell their devices for what they are worth on terms of components and make some kind of product.

What’s the point in making a premium phone and then selling it at a loss. There are tons of options in android but some people want a high end device. Perhaps not as many as want high end Apple devices but it doesn’t mean just because you are using android you can only have a budget phone. Look we even have designer watches making smart watches running wear OS.
