nice, I'm tossing that model around in my head still ...
How so? I really like the always on display on my Series 6, battery life is still excellent.I have a 4. The first thing I would do is turn off the always on the MOMENT I got it. Sorry.
I’m on the very first S0. It still lasts me a full day in battery life. It still tracks my workouts. It still tells the time correctly. It still reminds me that I have an appointment.I never understand series 4 people who aren't upgrading yet. The always on display from series 5 was by far the biggest apple watch update ever
If that's the biggest upgrade ever, that explains why they haven't upgraded. It's not that big of a deal. I'm still rocking a Series 2 because Apple refuses to get serious about battery life for long duration fitness/gps tracking. If I upgraded, the first thing I'd do is turn your favorite feature off to preserve battery life.I never understand series 4 people who aren't upgrading yet. The always on display from series 5 was by far the biggest apple watch update ever
Apple Watch 7 will be my first. The larger screen and brighter always-on-display is what finally got me.
It's Apple Watch Series 7 launch day, which means customers who pre-ordered last Friday are receiving their deliveries. We picked up one of the new Series 7 models and thought we'd go over the features and compare it to the Series 6 for those who are still awaiting their own devices or who are on the fence about purchasing.

Compared to the Series 6, there's not a whole lot new with the Series 7. You're not getting new health features, and even the design is largely the same. The casing sizes are larger, though, coming in at 41mm and 45mm, and there's a noticeably larger display.
Apple has cut down on the size of the display bezels and it's a change that looks nice, plus the expanded size allows for features like new watch faces and a full keyboard for the first time.
The always-on display is brighter than before, and Apple says it's using more durable glass that's less resistant to cracking. There's also IP6X dust resistance certification, which is new and joins the WR50 water resistance rating.
Most people are going to enjoy the larger display, but it could be an issue for those who have smaller wrists and were content with the prior sizing, especially with the 44mm to 45mm jump.
Other than the changes to sizing, the slightly more rounded body, and the tweaked color options, there's not much else new. The Series 7 has all of the same features as the Series 6, like blood oxygen monitoring, ECG, heart rate monitoring, fall detection, and more, with the one other standout feature being a faster charging speed.
Using the new charging puck that comes in the box, the Series 7 can charge at up to 33 percent faster than the Series 6, as long as you have an 18W+ USB-C Apple charger or 5W or greater USB-C PD adapter.
If you're coming from an Apple Watch Series 6, there's no compelling reason to upgrade to the Series 7 unless you want that display increase, but those who have a Series 3, Series 4, or Series 5 will find this a much more notable upgrade that's worth the money. Did you upgrade to a Series 7? Let us know what you think of it in the comments.

IMO, there are only 3 main improvements after the Series 4, those being the always on display, the longer battery + and faster charging, and the bigger screen (only in the Series 7).I never understand series 4 people who aren't upgrading yet. Sorry, I simply can't get excited about ANY Apple Watch. The iPhone helped me ween myself of any watch. What does the the watch do that the iPhone cannot? Even worse are the marketing messages about a new color. Who really cares what color it is?

Are you on the latest version of Big Sur?I had a Series 4 and upgraded to a new Series 7. Interestingly, when setting up my Mac so it can be unlocked with my new Apple watch, the Mac indicates the new watch is a Series 6.
My iPhone screen time has gone way down after getting the Watch. I don't have to take out my phone to check my messages emails since they show up on my Watch. I only break out the iPhone if the messages/emails are important. Plus I don't have to break out the iPhone just to check the time of course. Same with temp and weather forecast.Sorry, I simply can't get excited about ANY Apple Watch. The iPhone helped me ween myself of any watch. What does the the watch do that the iPhone cannot? Did you have to upgrade to the latest iOS on your phone. I got mine today as well and I forgot that your iPhone had to be upgraded to the latest version. any issues? I have an 11ProPicked up mine before work! Starlight is pretty nice! Depending on the lighting, it’ll look more silver or more gold. Otherwise, it’s a champagne-ish kind of gold.
