Impressed. Wife and I just picked up a pair at our local Apple Store. Packaging was very nice, per usual. The case with the AirPods inside is noticeably heavier than the regular AirPods; the product feels sturdy and well made. Pairing was a breeze. Out of the box, the case and buds had a 76% charge. Nice! Noice canceling tech is impressive. These don't disappoint. Tested in a loud room with a QuietCool (induction fan) and it drowned that out no problem in both NC and Transparency mode. Music sounds great. I love rock, progressive and EDM and everything sounded nice. Good mix all around. Bass was very present, mids came in at just the right levels and highs were crisp. Instruments and vocals are isolated well enough to pick up on nuances. You can hear a lot you'd normally miss. Not sure if it's the Adaptive EQ.

We are happy with our purchase!

Besides what the app is telling you, how is the right side functioning with ANC-on? Can you hear sound leakage or weak effectiveness?

The seal definitely isn't as snug as my BeatsX in-ear headphones so I don't think ANC is very effective as it could be. I can live with it though because the fit is still far better than my AirPods gen 2's. I was using foam covers on my previous AirPods just to keep them from falling out of my ears and they helped to isolate the sound better.

I've seen people asking about the comparison to the Jabra's, and if that hasn't been done already, here's mine:

Very similar sound quality. Airpod are more comfortable in ear, but it's not like the Jabra's were uncomfortable. UX as far as set up, and use, and further connectivity on Airpods, is as usual, amazing. Case is thinner than Jabra, but nice, and the new design of the air pods is much better than the previous ones.

If you're halfway decent at solving BT connectivity problems and you want to save money, Jabra's. If you dig Apple's UX, attention to detail, or the look of, and you don't mind the price, Air Pods Pro.

Do 3rd party foam tips work with these new AirPods? I imagine they should unless Apple made their tips in non-standard size.

thanks! figures. I guess I have to hope Apple tips fit well. I used 3rd party tips on my BeatsX and PowerBeats Pro as I didn't like the original tips.
I'd imagine that 3rd parties will be selling tips in 6 sizes before long.

I would love to see someone compare these new AirPods Pros with a pair of Bose and Beats.
A YT reviewer compared to Beats pro and said APP were better. I think it was UrAverageConsumer.

I really like these. I’ve been using a first gen pair and have got a ton of use from them, but I always longed for a chargeable case and with NC included now, it was a good time to jump.
The sound quality is way beyond the original pair and the NC is effective.
9/10 recommend.

They connect a bit differently than the slip-on ones I’ve always used. These snap (click) into place. Likely in time there will be foam versions to snap on?

Absolutely am loving my AirPod Pros. And with Apple’s great resale value, I’ve sold my AirPods 2 for a decent amount.
The Pros are incredibly comfortable, sound great, get a fair amount louder than the AirPods 2, water resistant (awesome as I live in Pacific NW and won’t have to worry as much), overall I’m just super happy with them. I feel like they also look really good! They look less “goofy” than previous AirPods, which honestly didn’t bother me much.

well worth the money (for me)! Apple is going to make a killing from this awesome product!

I really like them... features-wise and sound-wise, they’re objectively better than my Series 2 AirPods. Comfort-wise, though... a different story. I must be one of the few who never had an issue with the fit of traditional EarPods or AirPods (I have small ears, evidently), but these new AirPods Pro have a larger bud - the hard plastic part - that strains my ear after 10-15 minutes of wear. Shame. I’ll be keeping them, as the ANC works surprisingly well. But they won’t be my casual, around the house earbuds - I’ll stick with the traditional AirPods. These will probably be my main travel/airport headphones... with my Bose doing the heavy lifting during actual flights.
You’ve tried using the smaller set of tips that the Pros come with?

I bought a pair today and played with them for about 5 minutes. They're already packaged for return tomorrow. They sound great, but no greater than my existing previous generation pair. The noise cancellation seemed impressive, but isn't something I really care about. The biggest thing I noticed about them (and the reason they're going back tomorrow) is how hard I found it to remove the AirPods from their charging case. Maybe my fingers aren't the right size or shape, but I just can't get a good grip on them to pull them out. This would drive me crazy to live with on a daily basis. Oh well, I tried to love them.

I picked mine up tonight, and they’re just ok. The noise cancelling works pretty well, but the improvement in sounds quality over my AirPods 2 is marginal, at best. I’m going to try them on a flight next week, and if the noise cancelling performs well on the plane, I’ll probably keep them. I wasn’t looking for audiophile quality, but I was hoping for something more with these.

What's the volume like? I noticed the regular AirPods have a much lower maximum volume than Apple's wired earbuds.

This is the main reason I still haven’t bought any Airpods. I tested them a few times at Apple stores but the maximum volume was always too low.

Can anybody please verify if these new “Pro” pods can play at the same volume as the wired earbuds. Thanks.

My only gripe is the price.

I wish they could have done a non-wireless charging case option again to get the entry price down a little bit.

Especially since after three years they are likely to be almost useless in terms of battery life just like my version one AirPods are now. These are not devices that you’ll be using 7-10 years from now and they are very expensive when you consider that.

I am into my third year of original airpods. Battery has degraded, but still very workable. What does one do with them when the battery becomes really bad? Is there an option to replace battery? Or an exchange discount for getting new airpods? Any idea?

Hope you don't have the "Volume Limit" setting lesser than max? I discovered this setting recently myself

Received mine yesterday. Noise cancelling is good and NOTICEABLE. Very surprised that people are claiming otherwise. Wore mine in the streets of London yesterday, turning on/off the NC. Big difference.

Pairing was easy. The default attachments fit my ears perfectly as per the test built in to iOS.

Why is everyone complaining about price?! It's standard Apple pricing. We're paying for the brand here people not the equipment. Anyone bought a designer coat, ever?!

I just unboxed and set mine up. I am IN LOVE WITH THESE. These fix 99.9% of the complaints I had with the 1st/2nd gen AirPods. I am SO HAPPY to have these! And the sound is fantastic!

For those of you that have been using AirPods for a while ..... mine are plugged in and charging (lid closed) - are you supposed to get an amber light while it's charging up, or do you just get a green light on the case when the case and ear buds reach 100% ??

I was expecting to see an amber light on the case while it was charging and then it goes green when it's fully charged. I'm not getting any light at all while charging.

I guess you have to open the lid to find out anything. You would think the case would display the green light when fully charged (weird?).

That’s normal behavior. The status lights only operate six seconds or so, even while charging.

I’m considering a pair to replace my Sony WF1000MX3 which were great on my XS with iOS 12 but are rubbish with my new 11 Pro on ios13 - never connect automatically any more needing a prompt on the Bluetooth settings screen every time, and sound quality reduced between 12 and 13. Sony don’t appear to care and have offered no new firmware.
