If this is par for the course, Apple TV Minus will go the way of iPod Hi-Fi - too late into a crowded marketplace.

People should remember that Netflix has put out garbage as well and has cancelled many shows. It’s very difficult to make hits like The Office, Friends, Game of Thrones, etc.

Apple will probably just keep throwing money at for a few years this till they have some hits.

Personally, I wish Apple would stick to being a content delivery service rather than a creator.

You forget, Netflix had “Stranger Things”, whilst Hulu had “The Handmaid’s Tale” and Amazon “The Man in the High Castle”. Apple has “The Morning Show”...

They should really include like 4 free intones rentals with the subscription. What I’ve watched so far, while not bad, is not worth $5 a month when competing services are close in price and offer so much more. Apple needs a back catalogue of content on this to make this last

Not familiar with Intones rentals.

On Apples Newsroom site it does say in the small print at the bottom of the page that it is included for a limited time.

And it seems that yes, students paying for the 4.99 Apple Music subscription are indeed getting tv+ included, for no additional cost.
There’s nothing on Apple’s website about it, and nothing on macrumors, but it is mentoned on some other tech websites, including some comments that Apple has confirmed it. Though no detail on how long for, and if there any conditions, other than remaining a student and continuing a student Apple Music subscription.

So far I'm really impressed with ATV+

Everything I've seen has been high quality and very entertaining. I expect to extend my subscription past the 7-day free trial 👍

Sifted through the lineup last night and Snoopy is the only thing even remotely interesting. No docs, no sale though.

I'm here for Snoopy... ;)

"For All Mankind", of course the other space one I was looking forward to, kinda interesting (but not really into it alternate reality stories unless it's Sci-Fi). I kept thinking to myself (this never really happened).

Gonna watch the rest of it though since it's free anyways...

I wouldn't normally subscribe just for one show (a long cartoon show nonetheless split into 8min segments).

Here's hoping they put Snoopy in Space on physical disc for people with no Apple access!

With limited episodes, such a small offering and only promises of more content, I will not spend 4.99/month.

As long as I can continue to watch re-runs of Castle and Friends, I am good :)

Oh Boy. What a downer! Not even worth free. I got one year free, but I put a reminder on my calendar 11 months from now to cancel the free membership.

smh i got a year free and STILL ive never been as NON-HYPE for a service as this, theres only like 4-5 shows and they are all lame pandering shows and nothing else like who would pay for this when disney plus is going to be so much better and theres still HBO, netflix, hulu, amazon prime with so much more to offer

people with a new apple device get a free year. everyone else gets a free week.

Turns out replacing an iphone with apple care (which costs $99) also counts for a free year of Apple TV+. Didn't expect that... I'll take it. (I know this is true, because they gave me one year for 'purchasing iphone' but only iphone I've purchased in 2 years is an applecare replacement.)

It would just take one decent series for me to sub. 50 a year vs buying a series for 30-40. It’s about the same. But still waiting for the compelling series that would hook me. For the next year though it’s not an issue.

Meanwhile Netflix gets 73 new original shows or movies this month? That’s just for November. All at once. Not just a partial drop while you wait each Friday for a new episode. There’s just no comparison here.

Started my 1 year free trial as someone who bought an iPhone after Sept 1. I can't believe Apple payed a quarter Billion for Morning Show. Total trash.
I watched two of the episodes last night. Not too bad. I would give it a C+ or maybe a B-. A little over acted in spots and a little "just reading the lines" in spots but it's ok IMHO. Hoping the characters grow in coming episodes. I really got tired of them using the "F" word all the time tho. It loses it impact after so much repetition.

One thing annoys me is that if I want to watch via the website I have to verify my identity using a credit card only, they won't verify with a debit card. Seriously apple, I don't use credit cards so I'm pretty much blocked from website viewing

Could only manage to watch half of episode one of The Morning Show before I couldn’t tolerate it anymore. It was horrible. I can’t imagine how you can take three great actors and produce such terrible, boring garbage. Of course those actors are all known more for comedy, and using them in a dark drama which doesn't seem to have any interesting direction was not the smartest thing to do. I’m glad Apple was allowing a free peek by letting us watch one episode. I’ll never pay 1 penny for that garbage.

BTW, the video looked rather poor on my iPhone XR screen. I’m not going to waste my time by downloading the Apple TV app to my Rokus or Fire TV devices. No programming of interest and too much money for the subscription service. I doubt I would watch it even if they gave everyone a free year. Garbage is garbage whether you have to pay for it or get it free.

I’ve only had time to watch the first episode of “SEE”. I thought it was a fairly good show. The actors did a good job at making the situation they were in, seem believable. “SEE” is pretty good IMO. Looking forward to watching “Morning Show” when I have time this weekend.

Apple TV+ only needs 2-3 shows to be a successful service, because it is $5 a month. Let me say that again, it is $5 a month. NetFlix has a lot of content because it was the original streaming service provider with original content, so NetFlix has a lot of reasons to keep the subscription active. NetFlix knows this too, that’s why the price keeps going up. NetFlix is $15 a month. Hulu only has Handmaids going for it, that show is literally the only reason we subscribe to it and that is $10 a month. Once we finish watching it we cancel Hulu. HBO for us, it was just Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley, we watch those and then we cancel... HBO is $15 a month.

For $5 a month and for literally being a brand new service, I don’t have much to complain about. All the people who are complaining despite having it free for a year... all I can say is, that’s sad.

Not every show is a hit to every viewer. Ex: A lot of people swear by Big Little Lies, I couldn’t get through an episode before being completely dumb founded. Downton Abbey was another one, I also thought “The Favorite” movie was stupid but it won plenty of awards (How?!).

Maybe check out “SEE” before writing the entire service off.

I don't think Apple is giving a free year to anyone, just checked, logged in and it's only one free week and then I need to pay: for the content available I don't think I will...o_O

I got a free year and after 12 months will be 4.99/month

I am a gay guy that leans slightly the other way at times. Where am I going with this? I watched the morning show and if I was that hooked on Aniston's boobs the average straight guy will love it. It's my new guilty pleasure. I think it is going to do really well.

Anybody having issues AirPlaying Apple TV+ to second gen Apple TV. My plan was to mirror my iPhone 11 to my second gen Apple TV to watch on my big screen. Seems like they will only allow AirPlay to an AirPlay 2 device like 4th gen Apple TV or higher. Sort of messed up in my opinion. Since I don't want to spend $149 for a new Apple TV I'm just going to get a Fire Stick which seems dumb if they are trying to keep people in the ecosystem.

Watched the first 15 min of “The Morning Show” and stopped after a while - I find it’s hard to focus on the story with so many vulgarities.

I kind of expected more from Apple in regards to “PG-ing” the content... but I’m probably one of a handful that thinks you can still tell great stories without needing to have so many vulgarities.

If you have such delicate sensibilities, you really need to seek content outside of the TV-MA realm.
