OK. I got your point. And you are right. If the store comes down, then. . . we see what happens then.

I would be really disappointed, if the store is not coming down today. But as I said earlier, usally it comes down 9.00am NewYork time

Yeah, the other option might be for 9:00 AM PST, so that's in less than an hour.

Who knows - we might have to wait for the SuperBowl - but I really hope not.

And I'd love to see *something* from Apple acknowledging the day - its just too weird.

I totally agree, the lack of ANYTHINg means there must be something.
 
Keep in mind that 1/24/1984 was a Tuesday, so it could be argued that the 20th anniversary is tomorrow. At any rate, I guess all speculation is futile and we'll just have to sit and wait.
 
I'm trying to hold off on the excitement. I just don't want to be disappointed. It would be great if something would happen today. I'm going to be at my local Apple Store this afternoon.

This here's my first contibution to the forum. But I have enjoyed reading the threads .

I would just like to send my best wishes for apple on having made so great computers so far...
At the moment I'm sitting with my IBM 200 MHz which really sucks, but I'm holding on to my money 'till there's a new or revised PowerBook on the market to replace my PowerBook 5300

Hope there's good news on the horizon
 
the Apple store isn't "down"... that means they aren't working on it for the new surprises, if there is one.

So, in other words... nothing new today!

I am so sick of this. I sit on the edge of my seat, hoping to give Apple thousands of dollars, I get my hopes up, the products are in need of a revision, and they just don't come through. NOT EVEN ON THEIR ANNIVERSARY! COME ON!! This is insanity.

the rumors on this site have been B.S. at best lately. I laugh every time i see "expect new ____ tomorrow..." this place is becoming a joke, and waste of my time. Dont blame Apple for your disappointment, blame this rumor mill for getting your hopes all jacked up only for nothing to happen. displays this, updates that, price drops? yeah right. just a way to keep people coming to macrumors.

Mac Rumors has let us down. They have resorted to putting in stuff about how Steve Jobs believes that Apple has screwed up in the past! That is NOT a rumor.:mad:

understand the the 'rumors' you're talking about aren't necessarily based on facts or overheard conversations - in many cases its just speculation, educated and not so much educated (more like wishful thinking :D).

Most people understand this.

:confused: disappointed.... still a giant iPod on the main page... where is the Mac in the center spotlight? It's the Mac's 20th anniversary and yet Apple keeps the iPod as the focal point... really tell's you that priority #1 is indeed music/iPods... *sigh* I am saddened.
 
I have been following the news and forums on this site in hopes that a new and faster Mac would be coming out. As a old school mac user that has since switched to PC for the past 10 years, I was looking forward to moving back to a mac. But it looks to me like I'll be going with the dell P-650 for now, maybe I'll give it another look in 3-5 years.

Too bad they never did anything with the anniversary, I've waited for 3 weeks and I just can't wait for the superbowl at this point.
 
Just peeked inside the Apple store in NJ and no hints of any thing new. SH%T

Seems that AppleInsider.com has removed any signs of the Apple 1984-2004 commercial rumor. I can't find it anymore!
