Heh....here's an example of how "bad" my signal issues are.

At one of the labs in which I work my 3GS would, if I was LUCKY, show 2 bars and GRPS. Every so often I might catch an EDGE signal if I was in the right position and the stars were aligned. My iPhone 4G is so bad that I usually get 2-3 bars of 3G. It's so pitiful that I can actually make a phone call.

Couple this with no screen issues, a GPS that's way faster to get/lock signal, network transfers running much nicer, and oh boy am I a happy camper.

Same here! No yellow issues and I couldn't replicate the reception issue no matter how hard I tried. Plus now that I have a bumper on it I'm really not worried at all. The screen is unbelievable, the phone just feels fast, and I'm really impressed with the battery and call clarity.

I believe that some people are having issues but just because they are doesn't mean everyone else is. Its actually sort of annoying. A girl noticed my iPhone 4 today and said something along the lines of "Doesn't that not even work, like it can't make a call." And I tried to convince her that I haven't had a single problem and she wouldn't believe me. Whatever, I'll enjoy my new phone while she refuses to buy one because a few people are having issues.

Zero reception problems. Both normal call and on speaker phone. G/F actually said it sounded better than when I was on my 3gs

No yellow stain

Gorgeous.

100% happy

Ditto!!

It's unbelievably perfect. Which I am completely shocked about because of the build quality I experienced with my 3G (finally got an "ok" phone on my 4th try).

I went to my Apple store at 2:30am, even though I had a reservation, and hung out with some of the coolest people. I was among the very 1st group that got let in, high fives all around from shoppers and Apple employees :) Was in and out and up and running in literally 6 minutes. Got to work EARLY instead of late!

I knew about the yellowing before I got in line on Thursday so I thoroughly checked mine before I left. And I've tried to replicate the signal problems I've seen and can't. As a matter of fact, my iPhone 4 is markedly better in so many ways. Better signal (I'd drop a call every day, none yet) louder speakerphone, louder iPod output (I swear)...it even shows barely any fingerprints (oleo-phobic coating)!!! And I was at 100% when I went to bed last night and woke to 98% (2 push accounts, wi-fi, location on)

I'm a hugely happy camper :)

Put your finger on the lower left corner antenna gap and all of you delusional owners will no longer have a "perfect phone".

Phone is perfect now with the griffin clear base I bought from best buy. It just flies compared to my 3g :)

I did, held it just like they did in the vids. Waited 1 minute to see any changes.
Not Covering: 5 bars
Covering: 5 bars.

Also ran Speed test, holding and not holding.

Not saying it isn't an issue....just saying I'm glad I don't have it.

no real problems here either! iPhone 4 rocks. i'm just paranoid about dropping it so i'm looking into cases or the bumper...

You can buy a brand new Mercedes and crawl around and find some little imperfection if you look hard enough maybe a thread showing under the seat... my phone looks and works perfectly. To think we paid $600.00 for the original and now the 4th generation look what we can have for a lot less money. Too many cry babies on the forums complaining about everything... one was really upset because it was so HOT in Phoenix yesterday ? Should have stayed home instead of buying on launch day...

lol...what happen really was...someone broke the news? and it's like a scratch. and really, its NOT THAT BAD. but your mind plays tricks and amplifies everything.

That said, my iphone 4 is PERFECT. it could make ice cream for me. So i really don't have a say on this connection issue. (i don't know.... wear ESD certified shoes)

Exactly, I've dropped zero calls secondary to holding it "funny"

As a long time ham radio operator I can tell you antennas and RF are fickle things-everyone has put Apple on such a platform as far as design perfection. No matter where you put the antenna certain things are going to attenuate the signal. It sure sounds like they made a heroic effort to make things the best possible, including the algorhythm for choosing the best channel

Second, as far as design, if it was all plastic, people would bitch, it is now all glass and gorgeous (hard to scratch) and people bitch, the fact it isn't transparent titanium makes people mad...

Geez..

I love my iPhone 4, it is gorgeous, fast and has better voice quality than my 3GS..

120 out of 600,000 people cry on the internet and everyone assumes 100% of the phones are broken.

Iphone 4 IS the best phone yet.

True that, I have like 10 friends with iP4's no issues, the only issue they have is they can't put the phone down :D
