It bends in pockets? Who said that? So why hasnt it happened with my 6 that I have owned for 2 months, and now Plus that I have owned for over 2 weeks then?

Who said that?? Welcome to the last 3 months, do a Google search.

Are you really asking why things don't happen to you but happen to other people? Maybe there is a bad batch? Maybe you don't put it in your pocket? Maybe they had a silent fix? Maybe you have an awesome case you don't take on or off? Maybe you never sat down with it in your pocket? Maybe you treat it like a piece of Waterford crystal? Maybe you are just lucky? Doesn't change that it happens. Small percentage, absolutely. But it happens and stop denying it.

Edit... since you updated your post. All your arguments (I can snap any phone in half...blah blah) have been discussed thoroughly in this thread. That is not the issue. No one denies a phone can snap if you try hard enough. If that is your argument, fine. I am not going to argue that.

Maybe simply being in your pocket isn't what's causing bends. That's the thing you're pointedly ignoring: that the fact of it being in someone's pocket is a SECONDARY factor in the bending. The primary factor is some amount of force that was applied to the device. Where the device was at the moment it happened is important to know, but is not the CAUSE of the bend. In other words, contrary to the statements made by many people here, the answer to the question "How did your phone get bent?" isn't "it was in my pocket."

Surf Monkey, you are extremely selective when you are able to find reasoning in a post, and it only seems to be in yours or people whom you agree with. You are a smart person. You know exactly what it means when someone says it bends in their pocket. The cause is obvious. Stop with the word games.

The cause is not obvious unless the person explicitly states what the cause was. As you know (if you're being honest) many people here have never said what happened to cause their bends. Their answer has often only been "it was in my pocket." Whether or not they know exactly how the bend happened, that's not an answer to the question of how it was bent. That's an answer to where it got bent. Characterizing pointing that fact out as "word games" is completely disinginuous on your part, as is your attempt to deflect by going after me personally rather than addressing the actual substance of my objection.

"deflect by going after me personally" .... really? Yet anytime someone questions your posts you respond exactly this way. Pot meet kettle.

that is just from the one page of your history.

But sure, I'll spell it out. When a phone is in a pocket you do things, like stand up, sit down, put the phone in, take it out, go for a run, kneel down, have a toddler jump on your lap, bump into counters, lay down for a nap... all these things happen in a given day. Which of these caused it?? It doesn't matter. It is happening more with this phone than previous iphones. That's really all that matters. If it is acceptable to you, then great. Enjoy!

Jpeg42.

How do you know it is happening more now than before?

How many 5s and 5s have bent?

Please site your sources.

Thanks.

Weak "evidence," my friend. You're drawing a false 1:1.

See, that's where the problem enters the picture. It doesn't matter TO YOU. You're content to believe that the phones simply bend under mundane circumstances (though how you expect to convince anyone that a toddler jumping on your lap or running into a counter are examples of ordinary or mundane circumstances is beyond me.) Others, myself included, would like to know a little more about what's happening, because given the vast number of phones out there and presuming that millions of people are using them in absolutely mundane ways 24/7, one would expect ALL or MOST of them to suffer bending if what you assert is true. Since this is NOT happening that begs certain more specific questions than "what pocket do you carry it in."

You and others will now blankly accuse me of being a blind Apple apologist who is an idiot, is accusing people of negligence and lying, call me a dick and gleefully crow about how you're putting me on ignore.

It's obvious. And a real laugh you of all people are asking me to cite a source.

I am sorry you feel such a victim on the Internet surf monkey. But there is a reason there is a consensus of feeling towards you.

We will never agree on this. And it doesn't matter. You are happy with your phone. I am happy holding off until Apple improves it. Cheers to that!

Love when people use that one of nine site as a source let's pretend those are all unique posts and with no duplicate (i dont have tine to analyze 400 pics) and let's pretend those 400 only account for 1% of the phone effected thats 40,000 effected phones which is 0.001333333333333% of 30 million phones(which might be low to real numbers)

Do you real think a company publicly address issues when 0.001333333333333% pf their product has issues

And lets not forget most of the reports end with apple replaced the device

And Oneofthenine was banned from Macrumors. He has no credibility. For people here to bring his site up as a source is simply silly.

Nah, just when anyone makes a post here everyone gives them hate saying it's their own fault.

Well it is their own fault. Who the hell's fault would it be? If it's that person's phone they bent it. Period.

I've had my iPhone 6 for about five days now. Yes, it's the flimsiest phone Apple has ever produced. I haven't really bent mine yet, and I've been fairly careful, but I keep an eye on it, and today it got a slight twist (you know, lay it face down, rock back and forth between two diagonal corners). So I twisted it back. Didn't take any real force at all, and got it back to perfect. Then a bit later it happened again. LOL! All from front carrying in regular old jeans (not tight, that's for sure).

*shrug*

Repeated twisting may eventually cause it to start malfunctioning, I suppose. As long as it's not an obvious bend that I can't fix by twisting it back, I'll just have Apple replace it when that happens. I'm otherwise happy with the phone, though I have to say iOS is a bit harder to use than Android ;). Love being back in the ecosystem for some things, but wish Apple could polish the OS up a little. It's not horrible, but it takes half again as long to do many things as I'm used to. The last time I owned an iPhone we were using 6.0 and it was a much snappier, stable experience.

I do think it's funny how much denial there is going on. It's just a phone, folks, and nobody on MR is responsible for the design. It's not a perfect phone, nor is it the best Apple has ever made (from a construction quality point of view, at least -- it's the most usable because of screen size & such :)). I see no reason to white knight for Apple. If they want to keep getting my money, they need to step it up. For something costing nearly a grand I expect a lot.

It's obvious. And a real laugh you of all people are asking me to cite a source.that!

Got it. You are pretending get you know what is going on.

You are taking your opinion and pretending they are verified facts

That is the joke.

Keep trying!!

Your making assumptions and statements that it bends in peoples pockets as if it was fact and that it happens to everyone and that it can and will happen, and that is what I just disputed with you, thats the point here. And I am telling you here everything is just perfect over here with the iPhone 6's that I owned.. Sure I seen the internet , I am on the internet every single day, and I also rememeber the same 4 "bendgate" photos being flucuated everywhere for a few weeks and also UnboxTherapys videos setting ablaze

What about Xperia Z3 users reporting bending issues? Or a few M8 owners too have reported bending issues aswell, I never said it is impossible and hasnt happened, obviously, but by the way you wrote your statement sure dam made it seem like you were making a fact and that its absolute truth itll bend in everyones pocket when that isnt the case here

No I dont have a case on my iPhone, never put a case on the i6's that I had (had i6 first, changed to Plus)

They cant possibly do a silent fix and get away with it, that is not possible and they cant do a silent fix on the current 6 Plus and 6 as that would be a massive outlash and hell for Apple...

I do put it in my pocket, I put it in my front pockets only I never put them in my back pocket (dont want it getting stolen out my backpocket, dont want to forget it is there and sit on it by accident with my 215 pound frame and body)

What are you talking about? I even said a small percentage in the post you are quoting. I am taking the exact opposite side of "bending does or does not happen to everyone".

Apple is replacing phones that are bending under normal use. They are recognizing the defect in these cases. That is good. Why would you be arguing against me here??

Sure. The reason is that there are lots of immature people who love to act in a highly trollish way around here. Thing is? There are just as many, if not more, rational people who agree with me on this issue. And for the record, I don't "feel like such a victim." I just find it amusing that the attempts to victimize those with differing viewpoints are so predictable and unimaginative.

Cool. Fair enough. I don't necessarily disagree with you but don't understand the way you explain it. Again whatever. And sorry if you felt I have trolled you. Forum banter is all in good fun. Glad you don't take it personally.

Well maybe because you haven't been jumped on by multiple people on the forum and then telling them they are feeling "victimized". Maybe when that happens to you, you won't call it "forum banter".

The entire problem about this bend crap that SAMSUNG CREATED (let's get real about it) is people seem to get mad when the trolls who are trying to spread the news fast get intercepted by logical thinking from Surf Monkey.

The big reason is plenty obvious why the bend threads have ceased dramatically is because Samsung got called out. People knew what they were doing. You can choose to believe it or not but if something like bent iPhones was really happening to a lot of people it would be still going on in the worse way.
How interesting that right after the Note 4 was released publicly the bend threads seemingly disappeared.
If Samsung had not been doing so many sabotage ads against Apple, insulting their customers and copying their product they may have gotten away with this BS they created.

You lose all credibility when you pull out the Samsung conspiracy theory. Sorry.

Edit ... And the Apple white knights jump all over anyone with the bending issue. I have no sympathy for them when they get it back some.

What?? Excuse me? What credibility am I suppose to be trying to show myself as having? I stated my opinion on the matter. I said you can choose to believe it or not. If you have nothing but insults to throw then you're the one losing credibility. Feel sorry for yourself.

My iPhone 5 has that exact problem. Hold it in landscape and it drops wi-fi and cell connections. I'm unconvinced that the "grip of death" was ever really fixed in the 4 & 5 series phones.

Do you have proof? My iPhone 5 was perfect. How do I know you're not just making this crap up?

Take a 1 inch long by 1 inch deep piece of aluminum and try to twist. It will be fairly hard to do. Now take that same 1 inch deep piece of aluminum and make it 10 inches long. Will be extremely easy to twist. Granted, the iphone is not just a thin piece of aluminum, with internals and a glass screen, but the Plus will be easier to twist than the 6. Of course something has to twist it as it won't do it on it's own. It has a better chance of slightly twisting in your pocket than bending. After 2 months, I have noticed a slight wobble in my 6 Plus. Was extremely easy to twist back into shape with minimal effort and slight twist. Even if the phone does twist over time, it will not be significant due to everything inside the phone. The glass will keep it fairly rigid, same with the battery etc. I still think the phone is hard to bend with normal use. Slight frame misalignment due to twisting may occur with normal use. Not the same forces at work compared to bending.
