did the same. gave up on best buy. target early morning seems to be the best bet.
Yes, as I posted yesterday I entered Target upon opening was the only customer in the department & bought 3 units.

Yet that said I was in Best Buy last night buying something else. Thought I'd check out of curiosity, asked if they had any cancellations and bought two more.

Knowing how busy they are, my suggestion to others is don't wait to be called, get pro active & your chances will be much better. I never wait for a retail store to call me about anything.

Cheers :)

Left a deposit at Best Buy on 3/16. Spoke to a worker there and said people line up in front of the store every morning before they open waiting for one. She still had a stack of reservation flyers left, but I have no idea how many reservations they actually have.

The 45 minutes I spent waiting on the reservation/customer service line, only 1 other guy reserved an iPad and 1 person called in asking if they were in stock and when they were getting them. I'm sure the sales girl has taken those calls so many times it was almost automatic "no", "we don't know when", "I have no idea". haha.

I have a couple of BB gift cards so I will wait patiently for my first iPad. Ordered a White 32gb Wifi model. Hope it comes soon!

Why did you buy 5 iPads? This is why most of can't even get one!

I have a reservation at a BB in Manhattan, but I decided to check out a Queens location this afternoon just in case. The guy there said that they were no longer taking reservations, and no more had arrived since the initial shipment last week. In fact, he predicted a month until they received any more at all. On the bonus side, they had the smart covers in stock, so I picked one up. Now I am just staring at the cover, waiting for the phone to ring. Not sure what else to do at this point.

I just got a call this morning from Best Buy and picked it up now. 32GB White Wifi.

i also managed to walk in to my local Target this morning at around 830am and picked up a 64GB Wifi White.

FUUUUUUUU

Checked the best buy stock in my area. There are 2 to choose from, the one I DIDN'T reserve from got some in of my model. I'm only hoping that maybe the one I reserved at just hasn't received theirs yet today.

Maybe there is hope. I just checked online stock for a 16GB black wifi and two out of the six stores around me show it as available. Before now all stores have been unavailable. Too bad the store I reserved mine at isn't one of the two but maybe they'll get a shipment soon as well.

16 GB Wifi

Just got a call that my Ipad2 is ready for pick-up. Reserved a 16 GB Wifi Black on Saturday at 3pm at Best Buy in Hartsdale, NY.
Don't know what number in line I was or anything but this is a good sign for those of us in the tri state area.

Edited to change from Sunday to Saturday-

Good to hear - it seems like the Targets around me have been getting anything BUT the 16BG wifi models, so I'm glad to hear they're out there somewhere. Not sure I'm brave enough to check the stock at other BBs, knowing there's nothing I can do if they do have it.

Damn man, I reserved a 16gb Wifi (was first on the list for that particular model) saturday morning. NOTHING.

Just picked mine up. Good job Best Buy. They got me the right model and everything!

3 other iPad 2s are locked up waiting for their new owners. :D

No call yet for me. Reserved Friday 5:05pm last week. 64gb AT&T black. Mount Vernon Best Buy in NY.

It seems like today is the day. I was momentarily excited to see that my local best buy out here on long island had 16gb wifi's in stock but evidently they're all pre-order. I'm happy for those people though. Maybe it bodes well for other retailers that at least they're fulfilling some today.

agree finally some hope. I am hoping friday will be the day. haha its been a week.

I think if you obsessively watch Target's inventory and have a reserved slot at Best Buy, it shouldn't be too long.

I reserved a Verizon 3G version, and the BB employee said most others were looking for AT&T, so maybe that's how mine came up quick?

He also said I was one of the first to get one since launch day. I didn't reserve until Monday, too. Lucky?

OMG, they called while I was out at the Apple Store (forgot my phone)!!!! I'm on my way out the door to get mine!

picked up

I just picked up. My Best buy (Hartsdale, NY) got 5 iPad2's in since launch. They came in today. They were all 16GB Black WIFI models. Since I was one of the first 5 to reserve this model I got one. So I guess I just lucked out. Good luck to everyone else.

I think it's unfair that stores get them while others don't. I can understand a store that sells a lot receiving MORE, but for one store to receive product while another receives none?

Especially when Apple stores can receive up to 20-30+ a day, while a bestbuy receives none in a week.

Well, they about gave me a heart attack, but I have it in my hands now. At first they couldn't figure out where they'd put the iPads. I even stood there and replayed the voice mail to confirm that yes, the girl who left me a message was someone who really worked there. Finally someone unlocked the back office and they were in there.

The guy said they only got like 4-5 in their shipment, so I lucked out that they got my model!

What model and what store??!!

I decided to visit the store I placed my reservation at for my 32GB 3G AT&T.

I walked right up to the customer service counter and asked if any iPads 2's were delivered today.

They told me that they received a total of 5 all 16GB Wifi. She even went as far as showing me where I was in the line of iPad 2 hopefuls.

I am the first one on there list for the Black 32GB AT&T.

I then visited target and Walmart both reported receiving 1 16GB Wifi iPad 2 each.

I asked all the locations when there last delivery of iPads was before today's, and all the locations confirmed that they had not received a delivery since the lunch day a week ago.

today seems to have been the predetermined day to ship out orderers to stores.

I can also confirm that BB is no longer taking reservations.

The BB sales person on the sales floor informed me that beyond there customers who have already secured a reservation, the projected ETA for more iPads was 4 to 6 weeks.

It's not looking too good for anyone who has not already reserved an iPad.
