Has your MBP shipped yet?

correct. Spoke with Fedex IP (international priority) group and they said I probably will not get a status update until Monday evening my time (EST). Fedex is not running flights to Anchorage till monday. Fedex generally doesnt provide any information regarding flight schedules, but I really pushed them

You my friend have a wonderful machine right now compared to mine. I've had my PB 12" since a few months before Intel came ashore the Apple continent. I've been rocking this little guy ever since, and it is much less robust than your C2D!

Lol...this would be my personal machine at home. I don't own my work machine on only use during the day. I personally bought the my new MBP so I am in the same era of computing as you.

Yes the order status will change, but once it has shipped there is no point in going back to Apple to check the order status, as you will by the time it has shipped, have a tracking number and can follow it to your hearts content on FedEx's website.

I still haven't gotten a "shipped" notice. It's 5am in Shanghai. I'm glad I don't live in Europe right now, or even somewhere in the mid-west or east coast. I live that much closer to Shanghai and by way of that, to Anchorage.

This is my second MBP order since the 13th and I live in Anchorage. I don't think they fly to ANC on Mondays. I got my first Scan on the 17th (sunday) and it wasn't delivered until Wednesday morning the 21st. Which, btw, is the same day I ordered this one.

Yes the order status will change, but once it has shipped there is no point in going back to Apple to check the order status, as you will by the time it has shipped, have a tracking number and can follow it to your hearts content on FedEx's website.

That's weird. I ordered the same config at the 26th and as of this morning it has been shipped. I received a tracking number from Apple.
I assume yours wil ship soon too then.

Gah, I am so jealous. I ordered mine on Monday (26th) and it appears that it won't be here until the 10th.

If it wasn't for the discount, I would have gotten it in store (if available).

So, i was tracking flight FDX48 this afternoon and thought to myself, it would be really nice if my MBP was miraculously on that flight. anyways, i checked flightaware 22 mins after FDX48 touched down and didnt see a change in status. well, my handy package tracking on my iphone gave me a push notification of the status update. and looks like my MBP WAS ON THAT FLIGHT!! that made me happy. considering its only 2pm Alaska time, will I expect movement towards newark, NJ tomorrow? or am i still looking at a delivery target of may 4th??

My first post using my new MBP. I have to tell you all...

This machine is awesome. By far the fastest machine I have ever used.

I got the i7 15'' HiRes Glossy. It's the best looking display I have owned or even seen on a laptop. No yellowing, no blueing, no immediate heat issues, no pathetic blemishes in the aluminum, no stuck pixels. (All at first glance anyway.) I ended up getting the SSD cause it wasn't that much more and I wouldn't have to mess with installation. I totally don't regret it at this point opposed to just comparing specs on paper. This computer doesn't lag a bit. I click something and it's done. It's much faster than my bosses 17'' last gen MBP.

Without going into a detailed full review, this laptop is great and by far the best computer I have ever owned. So anyone checking these threads, I am another one that got a "as advertised" laptop with no problems...only a two week build and ship time.

Hands down my favorite feature is the new on the new MBP is the inertial scrolling. I don't see why the old MBP's won't get it. Maybe 10.6.4...

yes. it was prepared for shipment on wednesday morning (EST). two hours later it changed to shipped. stayed that way until my last update.

FDX48 just left anchorage for Newark 27 mins ago. I'd be really stoked if my package somehow made it through customs and on to that flight!! I live 30 mins from EWR airport.

Helicopter

My MBP 15 inch with hi-res gloss screen is listed as prepared for shipment today. Since I paid the extra $24 for fast shipment, I am thinking that Fedex will have a special flight from China to San Diego tonight. Then tomorrow, they will helicopter my MBP to my driveway for delivery. Does anybody see any flaw in my logic. If so, I will just have another beer.
