Not directly due to the layout, but the prices for the MBPs are approximately the same in euros as in USD, even though they should be bit lower even after taxes. For example the 15,4" i7 costs 2199 euros, even though converting from the USD and applying the taxes it should be somewhere around 2000 euros.
That's of course possible...However they have in the past known what's the correct layout, as I'm writing this from a Late 2008 unibody.
That's good. Is it primarily the letters that are different? Or are numbers and other punctuation keys in different locations as well?
DANGIT! FedEx says est. delivery date is the 5th. I purchased 2-3 day shippingIf it was Picked up May 1, shouldn't it at the latest be here May 4? Or does it have had to left China for the "clock" to start running?

A lot of peoples seem to be showing up a day before estimated delivery.
Also a lot of people are saying that paying for the 2-3 day shipping will only save you a day at most : (

Long time lurker, first time poster ( at least I think so ). This would be my first mac and I have been amongst the "waiters for arrandale" for a long long time.
I ordered my mbp and some other peripherals on the 21st of this month. Attached are the screenshots of the specs and the delivery details. Even though the estimated delivery is by 4:30pm 5th May but I am pretty definite it shall reach Denver, CO much before that. I believe its standard shipping.
The shipping address is to a business which will be closed on the weekend, so hopefully FedEx will deliver it on Monday. Any idea if the trucks come by on a Sunday?
Too bad it wont be in my hands till the 15th of the month as I don't reside in the States and a friend will be getting it back to me here. Still ... very excited!

Blah, I was hoping for delivery on any day except Thursday since that is the day when I will be at school all day for finals and won't be home to sign for the package. So guess what day Fed Ex estimates for delivery? Thursday
I'm ok with getting it late in the week since it'll keep me focused on studying instead of wasting time playing with my new MBP. The only problem is that I have to decide if I want to risk presigning and having it left on my doorstep or wait until Friday for redelivery

After the "Prepare for Shipment" notification, I received tracking info and invoice about 8 hours later.

As of 7 am local time, its now at destination sort facility. A whole 5 days ahead of the estimated delivery date. Looks like fedEx is picking up speed!

I'm gonna have fedex hold my package at a fedex location for pick-up. I'm fine with leaving an amazon dvd on my porch, but I don't want the MBP sitting there all day...

I don't think those of us who have received the "Package received after FedEx cutoff" message means our beloved machines are on any machine--at least any machine that is currently in the air. I'm pretty sure it is sitting until sometime tonight (which will be tomorrow for Shanghai) for it to be Monday to actually fly to The Anc. I could be wrong. Someone correct me if I am but that is my assessment.

Yes, I have already tried to call Humac (apple retail) and apple online. Both of them say, that all they know is it will be here on the estimated delivery date - which by now seems very unlikely. I have tried to be nice and patient while talking to the apple staff, but it's not gonna stay that way, if it's not shipped by next week!

DO NOT RISK LEAVING IT OUT ON YOUR DOORSTEP. i'm really paranoid about things like this, especially since only last week someone broke into my neighbors house. you just never know and you paid way to much to have it stolen at all but especially on the day of delivery.
my order updated with a tracking number but i have no idea what website to use to track it? can someone please tell me? it says uk distribution centre for assigned carrier and i have a carrier tracking number starting 81 is this the right number?
That's because the order hasn't actually been given to the carrier yet - when it does, the name of the carrier should appear instead of the "UK distribution center"-thing, and you should be able to track it until its final destination.
As far as I know, the numbers starting with 81 belong to UPS - but I'm not really sure. It's worth a try on all the major carrier websites, though - for example UPS and TNT.
