I ordered mine (2.4Ghz, 500GB 13" MBP) on Tuesday night, but still says Not yet shipped (and it still allows me to cancel the order).... I hope I will get it at least before the end of NEXT week... I don't know why the early date on the shipping is listed as April 16th (tomorrow), when they apparently haven't even started making the computer yet...

I even told him I know a lot of people with same customizations, and theirs is shipped out already. He's like nothing I can do.
Edit: I even asked if they use Fedex or UPS...he didn't say...all he said was they ship nationally...that doesnt make sense. I even asked if they do deliveries on Saturday and he didn't answer.
As it says in my post, yes... it's prepared for shipment.
This is all in the last 15 minutes it did this. I've been checking all day.
Also, I do not have a tracking number yet, I expect to have one within a couple of hours once it says "Shipped".
BTW: You guys really should try your luck asking for expedited shipping if you didn't pay for it. I called to ask if they had a better idea of when it would ship earlier today and they offered me 2 day for free.
I'll probably just end up flying to China and getting it myself. I'll even help them put it together if they'd like...
yep, that's a good news to you. My original ship method was 2 days shipping, and they helped me upgrade it to next business day shipping.lol
I was told from an apple rep that its coming from overseas so next day isnt possible....did you order yours online? How did you get next day shipping?
That is correct. The package has to go through customs. I believe the route is China to Alaska and then on to Fedex distribution locations.

after I ordered my mbp online I made a call to apple because there was a problem with my credit card and the rep helped me solved my problem. Then I told him I really want to get my mbp as fast as possible, then he said that he could upgrade my shipment to next business day and he did already. That's how it happened
Well, if your BTO is coming out of Asia to the US as I'm assuming, then no, next business day isn't an option. (Unless you get a courier/UPS or FedEx "Same-Day"/etc to pick up your laptop very early in the day and put it on the first flight out from nearby HKG... you might be able to get it late in the evening or the next morning for $1k shipping perhaps.

I'm still "Not Yet Shipped." In Massachusetts, placed my order for a 15"/2.66/Hi-Res Antiglare at 7:46PM PDT on Apr 13. Edu discount, if it matters. Still shows an estimated delivery of "Apr 16 - Apr 22"... Wish the status page had an auto-refresh feature!
...at least UPS just showed up with my 2x4GB RAM upgrade.
Looks like those with 15" machines are getting prepared for shipment now, hopefully the 17" will be next

I just got off the phone with a different Rep and at least he was able to explain all what you just told me. Unlike the other guy who didn't know crap. He did refund me on expedited shipping and let apple pay for it instead, and told me it should be reflected on my order as shown online. I just went to look at my order status and it still shows as charging me for shipping so I am assuming there's a serious lag in order updates online and in the system because there's a lot being sent out today. (And also a lot of us refreshing the page...lol)
I will probably call and ask for my Shipping refunded as well, no sense in paying for it if the lag is happening on their end
How long does it usually take from going to "Prepared for Shipment" to being shipped? I presume once it is shipped I get a tracking number?

I ordered my MBP 13" 320gb on Tuesday night. The guy from eplehuset (norwegian apple store) said it will be at least two weeks before I can pick it up!!!! And on top of that, this ash cloud from that vulcano on Iceland prevents any planes to land many parts of Europe, meaning my MBP won't be landing in Norway any time soon! Looks like it's gonna be a long wait for me...
If I'm correct on the BTOs coming out of Shenzhen on http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX48, that flight is scheduled for 7:05PM Shenzhen time. It's 5:30AM there right now, so chances are your laptop will sit around for about 12 hours, then get put on a truck or whatnot over to the airport to be loaded.
Once someone has a tracking number and can confirm where the package originated from and when it actually departed whichever airport, then the above can be proven or disproven...
