I'm located in suburbs 20 minutes away from Milwaukee, Wi!

My shipment finally transitioned to prepared for shipment!!

2.66GHz Intel Core i7
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
MBP 15" HR Glossy WS Display

Apple rep said if my area offers saturday shipment, and if it ships out today, its possible to be here saturday!

What did you order? That's probably why you haven't shipped yet.

2.66GHz Intel Core i7
8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x4GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
SuperDrive 8X DL
MBP 15" HR Glossy WS Display

the same with that guy

that's unfair, i am in MN USA:(,and my order is earlier than you...WTF

I have to agree. my order date is before his also. 5 minutes after the store came back up.

Order Date: Apr 13, 2010 at 05:40 AM PDT

Just upgraded the screen to the HR anti-glare but still hasn't shipped or prepared even :( Apparently they don't do "first come, first serve"

Tried calling to possibly procure a free upgrade to expedited shipping as some have suggested... no luck. I didn't ask outright, but I did tell the guy that a more specific date than the "Apr 16 - Apr 22" estimate would be helpful as my current MBP is quickly dying and I may need to go borrow a machine if it's late next week instead of early next week. (Which is true, my Fn key just died, adding to my dead up arrow that's remapped onto Right Shift, and it's getting easier to drive the CPU up to 100C and repeatedly thermal throttle it...unless it decides to kernel panic instead which it's doing every few days now.)

Alas, no luck playing the sympathy card. :)

You should have asked. They changed mine for me but I had to ask. Within several minutes the addition appeared on my order details

So Expedite shipping does include Saturday then? That would be awesome since I know I am in a Saturday delivery area! :D

I think I win, just got off the phone and the service person not only refunded my shipping she also offered me a free case. Got a black spec mbp case don't know if I will use it but those are $50 and she comped it to me ;)

apple wins points in my book!

Saturday shipping

Does anyone know if there is Saturday shipping in Canada? Specifically Toronto/GTA area?

Anyone with experience?

You should have asked.

He seemed rather unpleasant and annoyed, having said both before and after my little story that he could not provide any info that the website couldn't. I'll call back a bit later and ask, since almost every Apple employee I've dealt with has been much nicer than that guy...

Where or how can I check if my area is a Saturday service area?

Go to fedex.com and get a estimated time/cost from some random major location (could use 10001 for NYC) to you, and do a "quick quote." Since it's Thursday, it'll show you both Saturday and Monday price options for 2-day shipping if Saturday delivery is available in your area.

Yes!!my area is open on Saturdays too. haha.

Thanks. I hope it ships my order tomorrow.

My area is open saturdays too.... why does it make me pick though from pickup or drop off fedex location? does that mean my area only is available for pickup on saturdays?

I had originally ordered a printer with my 17" CTO but on speaking to Apple today I was told that the printer had gone from 24h to 1-2 weeks on back order.
So I cancelled the printer and was told I could buy it separately and still receive the rebate.
Since then my order's shipping method has changed to Fast Ship (EMEA) which I've discovered means that the courier takes charge of the delivery from the factory gate in China to my door.

If you order multiple items from Apple it seems that your order will be collated at a centre in Holland, obviously adding time to the delivery.

I have also read that a separate factory in China takes care of the 17" CTOs but I don't know how much validity there is to that.

Unfortunately my delivery date has still not changed from April 28th.

Cool thread!

I called in and talked to a charming older woman who explained that they have a target to start building BTO machines at the latest by the third day after the order comes in.

It sounds like what other posters have said, that they do them in batches based on configurations, and some buyers might get started quickly because they happened to order a configuration that was just about to be started.

Of course, this means nothing if your machine is already in stock. They just ship the machine.

Apparently, the machines have a port of entry in Alaska, then are changed to various other planes for a delivery hub closer to the final destination. I didn't want to talk her ear off so I didn't get into the specifics of what city my machine would come to, but she did acknowledge that it would be flown directly from AK to the eastern seaboard.

w00t!

Just figured I'd throw my info into the mix:

Status: NOT YET SHIPPED
Order Date: Apr 13, 2010 at 05:55 AM PDT
Ships: 2 - 4 Business days
Delivers: Apr 16 - Apr 22

MBP 15.4/2.66/CTO

I'm located in Upstate NY... and I'm pretty sure the 160gb Intel SSD I ordered for the MBP is going to get here before the computer does.

Damn. I guess they take into effect border wait times for Canada. Guess its Monday at the earliest for me.

Order Date: Apr 13, 2010 at 09:08 AM PDT
My Location: Southern California USA
Shipping: Standerd
Expected Delivery: Apr 16 - Apr 22

15" i7
8GBs ram
7200rpm 500GB HDD
High Res Glossy Display

Status: Has not shipped yet :(

This will be my first computer that is a laptap and my first computer that cost more then a grand. Can't wait because trying to run Photoshop and Aperture at the same time with 1gb of ram on my current setup is not working to well lol.

If my status is "prepared to be shipped", does that mean my pro is already built, and just going to be shipped soon?
