Can you "unstick" a stuck pixel?

And, what kind of math is that?

Actually some people claim you can, but I've never liked the procedure of rubbing the screen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defective_pixel

I assumed a stuck sub-pixel. Ergo the maths.

My professional NEC 2690WUXi has a stuck red subpixel. It's not a big deal. I would (and will) give Apple cr@p for a lot of issues, but a dead or stuck pixel is just a reality of the relatively low prices we are paying for electronics. In any case, i consider it about as annoying as a dust spec - it really doesn't effect performance of the machine.

Good news: My MacBook Pro came today! Bad news: Wireless is jacked up. Keeps dropping signal. istat pro says it drops to 0 input and output :( Cant play wow because I keep getting disconnected. I can barely surf any sites wirelessly, but can on my old MBP and my girlfriend can on her MacBook. Will be calling Apple. It is CTO so I can'y just exchange :( I am so BUMMED

Got my MBP earlier and just now had the opportunity to get it up and running. I love it so far, but since this is my first Mac, I have quite a bit of learning to do ;)

One thing though, I was under the impression I would be getting a package for Applecare. Does Apple not send anything for that now? In the Applecare/Ebay threads, people kept mentioning the Applecare box for proof of registration.

My 3 years are showing on Apple's website, so I am not TOO concerned, but just thought I'd ask in case I ever need the box.

It's probably tied to your Apple I.D. I'm pretty sure that you can go to the Apple website and look up your Applecare when you type in your info.

I ordered myself a 15" i7 with AG screen and 7200rpm HD on 21st April through my local apple retailer and was told it would take around 10 days to be delivered. Anyway I went back today as it's been over 2 weeks since I ordered and have heard nothing.

I was told that 'apparently' my order was put through on the day I purchased the computer but that because apple had run out of i7 processors the computer wasn't even due to be built until early next week and that it would take at least another 2 weeks after that to be delivered and be ready to pick up. Let's just say it's fairly annoying to say the least .

Has anyone else been having these same problems? Anyone who ordered from apple online?

Ordered April 16th (17 inch, i7, AG, 7200), still hasn't shown up.

I ordered this exact combo from the Apple Store on the 27th, and mine is due to be delivered either today or tomorrow. It's at the local FedEx facility.

Finally left Kentucky! Hope it is heading to Toronto.

i ordered my 15" i7 HR AG MBP with 8GB of RAM from the computer store at my school on the 26th and it's finally here!! but now i have to wait for to get processed through the university's shipping & receiving department before i can get my hands on it!!

my MBP is so close, yet so far away.

Super fast delivery

Ordered on May 3 at 10 pm EST. Delivered today MAY 6 (Boston, MA). COMING FROM SHANGHAI. WOWOWOWOW. Amazing.

I ordered a CTO Macbook Pro on May 3. I checked the order status on May 5 and saw that my credit card had been denied (I need to pre-authorize purchases over a certain amount with my bank). Doh! Two days of waiting down the drain! I didn't get any kind of email or notification from Apple of this. If I hadn't logged into Apple's website to check the order status I never would have known there was a problem.

I authorized and re-submitted my card on May 5. Now today (May 6) my order has shipped! I'm really pleased because the website said it would ship in 5-7 days. Here's hoping the 2-3 day shipping really works. :D

I can't believe mine shipped yesterday with standard shipping and is out for delivery today. I'm so happy. That's why its never worth it to get 2nd day shipping.

Damm!!

I've ordered a MBP 15" i7 with High Ress and a 7200 RPM HDD on the 17th!! The employee told me it was going to arrive between 28-04 and 05-05!
It's still not here!

So they e-mailed Apple again.. and it should already been here!!

Where is it?!!

Checked mine and it said that it will arrive at the 14th or 16th of May. I ordered it at the 27th of April. Hope it arrives earlier!

Ordered a CTO 15" i7, AG, 500GB@7200, 8GB RAM on April 19th.

14 days ago, I received an email stating there had been "unexpected delays", and that it wouldn't ship until May 5th.

Today, I just received another email stating that it has been delayed a 2nd time, and won't ship from China until May 11th!

Upset and frustrated, to say the least...

Ordered 15'' i7 with anti gloss display on the morning of April 13. It is not yet shipped due to shortage of i7 processors, current estimate is 5-7 days till the factory in China will start building i7 models again. So, I am looking at a minimum of 6 weeks between order and delivery. Unbelievable...

Sounds like people that ordered i7's around the 20th of April had a bump back. Mine is scheduled to be shipped on the 13th of May. I contacted the Apple rep for Education and he's going to "see" what he can do.

yep looks like it, mine went from 7th to the 19th of may.
ordered it on april the 23th
