Just spoke to UPS. My MBP will be in my hands within the next hour! :D :D

EDIT - Thats me got it! This is going to take some getting used to, enjoying it though! The actual laptop is so silky.

MBP just hit Mount Hope ON at 5:30EST. Anyone from BC know how much longer it should be to reach Vancouver??

Mine says: Ships 14-16th May. Will this say that its shipping from the factory to my home at the 14 or 16th? And how long may it take? I'm living very north in Norway.

It means it is planned to leave the factory anytime between those two dates. Keep in mind that if it's not ready to ship on the 16th they will give you new dates. It seems that there aren't so many delays now so hopefully you'll get yours shipped on the original date.

Ok. Thanks for the answer. Does it usually take long for the Mac to get shipped? Like whats the average time?
Thanks in advance.

I ordered mine through a Apple reseller store on April 13th. I got the 15" i7 Macbook Pro, 7200 RPM hard drive and Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display. The store has no updates, sucks :(

Same here. I ordered through a reseller on April 20th. I phoned them 3 times already and they say they cannot track the order. There is some sort of problem with the tracking system. At least that's what they say....and I have to believe them.

I've been so impressed with the speed of my new 15" MacBook Pro i7 that I've now given the first one to a member of the family. The second one I ordered last week arrived in just six days. That one will be going to another family member when the third one I ordered arrives. Since my entire family uses Mac's I've chosen to order identical configurations (see below) to keep it simple.

What's so impressive is Apples online store. They just keep getting faster. The one I ordered yesterday is already built to my CTO specs in just 21 hrs and is in route to me now. Unless it gets stuck in customs, I will have it in just four days. It's the fastest I've ever received a CTO Mac.

Finally I can assure those of you contemplating an i5 vs i7, I've had nothing but fast, quiet performance from the two i7's I've purchased. They are simply fantastic!

lol...I waited 2.5 weeks from the time I ordered it until the time I canceled the order because it hadn't shipped yet. I think they got past whatever was delaying it though.

Just a thought to share about resellers. I like to support small & medium size businesses like they operate. So I bought a MacBook Pro through a reseller about three years ago. Like many of you, after my order was placed, I waited, and waited, and waited. They gave me every "reason" in the book why my computer was not being sent to me. Finally eight weeks later it arrived.
.
That bad experience caused me to do some research as to how they operate. As a result I learned why so many have gone out of business leaving only the larger ones we have today. Their primary income is from everything other than the actual computers, as they are so dependent on Apple and make very little if any profit selling the computer. Making things worse is Apple treats them with the same attitude as they do Adobe. Believe it or not, it's what it is. Apples highest priority is profit taking and when you look closely and stay on top of business news it's obvious. I'm not bashing Apple, or judging them. I have been a long time customer. Jobs is brilliant. It's just too bad he has to be so incredibly arrogant and greedy.

If I'm gonna have to wait 8 weeks, it wil def. be the last time I order anything from Apple. I need a computer ASAP..
EDIT: But I ordered online, so I hope it goes faster..

So you basically advice us to cancel our orders, and reorder through the online store?

My shipment now has a resceduled delivery date of 5/14. It was supposed to be delivered today 5/13. Another day, another delay. It's been sitting at a distribution center, 15min from my office, since last night!

I think Apple and UPS are in kahoots! Apple tells UPS that an order is from a reseller. So UPS will do *something* to delay the shipment! What a bunch of jackasses!!!! UGH!

I finally got everything worked out. I ordered a CTO i7 15" which came defective (wireless didn't work). Brought to genius bar and they agreed it was defective. I have sent it back and my new order has not yet shipped. My estimated arrival is between May 14 - 20th. They dropped the $18 shipping and upgraded me to the high res AG (had hi res glossy) for free to appease me. Now the waiting game begins again, as does constant refreshing of the apple order page :(

My estimated arrival is between May 14 - 20th. :(

Ordered a 15" 2.4 i5 Anti-glare on May 12th... Estimated arrival between May 14th - 20th.

UPDATE: May 14, 2010 3:11 PM - Left/Picked Up FedEx origin facility in Shanghai (Package Received after FedEx cutoff time):( Hopefully this doesn't mean it's going to sit in Shanghai all weekend...?

So my order doesn't have an expected delivery date.... It left China 2 days ago and just left Alaska about 3 hours ago. Not sure if I'm going to be getting it tomorrow. I doubt it. Monday it is I suppose.

I ordered my 17" CTO Macbook Pro on May 11, 2010. It left China yesterday evening and has an expected delivery date of May 19, 2010.

Macbook Pro config:
17" Hi-Res Anti-Glare
i7 2.66Ghz proc
4GB ram
128GB Intel SSD storage

Ordered my 15" i7 8gig, 7200rpm, high res anti glare from a reseller on the 14th of April no updates on its location until it hits my country ... no updates yet ... still waiting :'( a bit disappointed that apple can deliver these from their website in a week and I have waited four ... do apple not want resellers to sell their products?

MacBook Pro 17" CTO re-ordered, day 3

Hello guys,

As promised, I will post any updates with my buy from the Apple online store. It's not shipped yet ;) But the latest message i've got is that my MBP is set to ship monday may 17th, ordered it may 12th, so it's awesome. I will keep posting relevant updates as soon i'll hear anything new.

Hope we all will get our MBPs very soon :)

Hey Bpran, Just curious which upgrades did you get? And which Re-seller did you order from?

I ordered the i7, 7200 RPM HD w/High Res Glossy...And i ordered it from Fortress...

Did you get any update about yours? Did the re-seller tell you when you can expect it?

Mine is 17" i7, 8 GB ram, 500SSD, matte.
I just received phone call today that my MBP will be ready on the 18th May.

Hello guys
So I just phoned my premium sellers headquarters, and I finally got an answer. They built it, and it's probably shipping tonight. It took me way too much effort to find that out. He told me that he was expecting it this week. So finally after 1 month they gave me some info. It's ridiculous, but i'm still happy that I finally know something more..
So I recommend those who also orderd at a premium seller and had the same issues like me, call the headquarters, or specifcly ask for the status at apple, because it seems that they apple only gives them 3 status updates, being built, done building, shipped.. at least that is what I got for an answer..

I wish you all goodluck waiting, and I hope/expect yours to arrive next week as well(those who order back in april)

Prepared for Shipment!

Hi guys,

Yet another update! Mine is prepared for shipment after 2 days! 3 days before exspected shipment date! This is very promising, and i'm so excited! :D
