Haha, aw, mine's on the same plane as yours! Ordered a 15.4/2.53/7200rpm500gb/HR Glossy last Wednesday. Live in Rhode Island.

As long as I get it by Friday, I think I'll be all right....

Trackthepack.com tells me it's going to Louisville, and all of the flights to Louisville from anchorage have left already. I'm definitely not on UPS105. My tracking hasn't updated with a departure scan from Anchorage, so I sure hope they are just late on updating their data, and i hope i'm on one of the planes that already left.

Another odd tracking combination..

My 15 didn't have any "in transit" scans in alaska, it arrived, went through int'l shipment release then left..

For my 17 there's an in transit scan in alaska that doesn't correspond with any flights that left to Memphis.

There's FDX76 that left at 2:29 and FDX94 that left at 4:04 local..

fdxb.jpg

The Scan out of ANC doesn't have to be an exact match for the flight time out. It was prob the 4:04 flight rather than the 2:29 thinking that they scanned then took off.

The arrival in alaska from Guangzhou lined up with a flight from tokyo.

Interesting. That makes sense since there doesn't seem to be a FedEx flight from Guangzhou to ANC. But you do line up with that NRT flight nicely, plus it took almost 24 hours from your CAN departure to ANC arrival which could be explained with a layover in NRT. FlightAware doesn't show flights that don't have one end in the US/Canada/Caribbean of course...the few other tools I'm familiar with only show some of the cargo flights within Asia. (E.g., I pulled up a few cargo flights PVG-NRT...but none FedEx, and couldn't find any cargo flights CAN-NRT at all.)

My obsessive curiosity with this tells me that I need to go poking around to see if I can find some tools that will show those. :)

Not the case...there are plenty of ANC-SDF flights left. Keep in mind that flights often do not show up as scheduled until they file a flight plan, which might not be until shortly before the flight. Take a look at ANC-SDF flights. There are SEVERAL flights with later departure times. The best way to tell if you want to do a bit of poking around is to open up all of those flights. Then, look for the ones that ran onto the same day of the week in the past; easiest to just scan for the last couple weeks, so find ones that ran on Apr 12 and Apr 5. Most of those are likely to operate again today. Again, best we can do here is to look at history, and guess at what's going to operate.

UPS tends to be fairly good at posting arrival/departure scans in my experience, compared to FedEx at least. So I'm betting you're on one of those flights that's going to leave later today and just isn't showing up as scheduled yet.

I was referring to flights for tonight, and all of them but one, UPS85, are already en route. There aren't several more listed to depart later, just the one.

what path does it take from ANCHORAGE to reach calgary, alberta?

Probably ANC-SDF-YYC. But it they're purposefully delaying it, perhaps something like ANC-SDF-YVR and then a truck from Vancouver to Calgary. UPS doesn't tend to bounce packages around air hubs in my experience; they tend to just let packages sit around if they need to be delayed at an air hub. Though they will sometimes truck it in from further, same as FedEx. FedEx does sometimes like to bounce stuff between air hubs to adjust load. (E.g., an earlier poster right near Oakland whose FedEx shipment came into ANC, then got sent down to MEM...rather than sending it on one of the ANC-OAK flights.)

I am waiting for the same thing from UPS and I called them and they said that mine will be arriving at pearson airport toronto tomorrow morning but apparently it will take 2 days to go from pearson to north york ( 20 min drive) and so they said if I call tomorrow I should be able to just pick it up instead of waiting till thursday

Mine is on UPS 85 (probably with yours), due to take off in under three hours. Get's in at 6:09am.

There's a decent chance UPS2997 will go out around 11:30PM, and there are a couple early AM...of course, that doesn't get to SDF in time to connect to...YYZ or something near YOW? Doesn't seem to be a SDF-YGK flight. Could see it going into SYR as well and being trucked up from there.

I don't see them being able to get it to you in time to make it up there from any of those, even with an early morning departure. Or did you dig up a SDF flight to somewhere closer to you? (I'm going by your displayed location...)

I think the only way it'd make it by tomorrow is if they had put it on a much earlier flight to SYR to catch one of the late afternoon/early evening flights, if there's no closer location to you.

did you get a departure scan? and that would really suck because i doubt they could get it from Louisville to Ontario (Canada, not California) in time for delivery tomorrow.

Not yet. Three hours to go. I doubt it, too. If you are on the flight to Louisville, then it will get in around 6am and then whatever flight towards you. Probably Wednesday at best for both of us.

Tell me more!!! I ordered the same minus the glossy display. Heard too many people complaining and ordered the non-glare.

I had a glossy white macbook before and it was fine. I think the screen looks great and I doubt I'd use it outside much at all. I think I made a great choice!

Also, I ordered it on launch day and received it today with expedited shipping.

Yeah, sucks. I knew I shouldn't have taken that Wednesday night shift at work. Ah well, I'll let you know if I get a departure scan. Where are you shipping to?

Final is Washington, DC. I'm thinking Wednesday is very likely (that was the last estimated date before they took it off).

TNT just updated their webtracker

20 Apr 2010*09:40:11* Pudong International Airport* Shipment In Transit.*

so I assume that this MBP is still in China...?
Who knows when it'll arrive in Australia? Is TNT quicker than FedEx or UPS?
I wonder when Apple will start to try contacting me regarding the cancelled credit card that they can't charge the MBP to.

I think part of the problem is that Apple underestimated the demand for new MBPs using the new processors, and also that the tracking details for a package are not live or updated as frequently as people want them to be.

Perhaps Apple could look at getting Genius staff in locations around the world to config MBPs for online orders, because the main customisation tends to be RAM and Hard Drive.

I just got an email from Apple this morning saying that they have shipped my order via TNT!!! But it hasn't left China yet according to the TNT tracking website. Looks like I will have a few options: a)Contact Apple and give them the details of my new credit card and then sell the base model I had purchased for me yesterday at Apple Store Chermside; b) I go into hiding from Apple's hitsquad and keep it; c) I return the CTO MBP to Apple Store Chermside; At this stage A is looking like the likely option.
