I ordered mine on the day they were released at about 12 noon. 17" i7 7200 rpm 500 Gb, 4 Gb Ram, Overnight shipping said ships in 2-4 days delivered 16-21. Mine still has not shipped. So frustrating. I called Apple today, they refunded my shipping charges, but could not tell me why mine has not shipped and why other people with the same config ordered after mine have shipped and been received already. So after they made the change for the shipping charges, it now says ships in 3-5 days, delivered April 23-28. Arrrg!! Does anyone know why this would happen?

My macbook pro i5 is now en route to Louisville, KY

Got a destination scan via UPS....it's on FLIGHT# UPS69 to Louisville right now with about 3 hrs until landing. Final destination for my MBP is Toronto...the UPS expected delivery date for me is Thursday, April 22nd...maybe I'll get it sooner. It's strange because I didn't pay for expedited shipping but on the UPS site my delivery is listed as "SERVICE: EXPEDITED"

Thought I would add an update. I ordered my 15" 2.4GHz Hi-res shortly after release on 4/13. I selected the standard free shipping option. My MBP was delivered this afternoon.

UPS69 Left at 4:13 PM, your departure scan is 5:29, so you are probably not on that flight. You are probably going on UPS85 later tonight with a few of us. You have the exact same departure scan as mine.

Thank you my fellow Ontarian for steering me right! I messed up my 24-hour clock conversion I guess...or just wishful thinking getting the better of me. When do you think we'll get our delivery...does it go from Louisville to Toronto tomorrow and then on a UPS truck???

Probably ANC-SDF-YYC. But it they're purposefully delaying it, perhaps something like ANC-SDF-YVR and then a truck from Vancouver to Calgary. UPS doesn't tend to bounce packages around air hubs in my experience; they tend to just let packages sit around if they need to be delayed at an air hub. Though they will sometimes truck it in from further, same as FedEx. FedEx does sometimes like to bounce stuff between air hubs to adjust load. (E.g., an earlier poster right near Oakland whose FedEx shipment came into ANC, then got sent down to MEM...rather than sending it on one of the ANC-OAK flights.)

Looks like my pack left...is it possible that it might be going thru UPS 61 to ontario then calgary?

I honestly don't know where it will go after Louisville. We'll see tomorrow I guess.

Yeah, that's Ontario, California. Not Canada.

UPS61 to Ontario is to Ontario, CA (Los Angeles area), which appears to be a mostly-regional hub for the Western US and Hawaii. There are no UPS flights to Canada from there.

You're almost certainly going SDF-YYC or SDF-YVR...

Edit: I poked around a little more and some of my assumptions about YYC/YVR were incorrect. YYC has flights from both SDF on UPS6492 and this odd SDF-FSD-YYC flight on UPS492 (FSD being Sioux Falls, SD and not having any UPS service other than SDF and YYC; I guess it was small enough not to need its own flight, and YYC needed more capacity but not too much, and FSD happens to be almost directly in the path; SDF-FSD-YYC is only 0.4% longer than SDF-YYC.)

YVR's only UPS flights appear to be from BFI (Seattle area.) So your package should go ANC-SDF-YYC or ANC-SDF-FSD-YYC if it's going into Calgary, and if it's going into Vancouver to sit on a truck, it could go ANC-SDF-BFI-YVR or ANC-ONT-BFI-YVR. There may be flights into other area airports I just didn't easily pull up.

Frequent flier miles? :D

Anchorage can be good for that... I once flew from Boston to ANC for a 35 minute layover before turning around on the same plane for a ton of frequent flier miles stacking multiple promos and status bonuses and such. :) Think I went BOS-ATL-SLC-ANC-SLC-LAX-BOS (and everything upgraded!)

If only I could get miles shipping packages around... "Mr. Cardboard Box, please report to gate 42 immediately. Your flight is ready to leave."

I think this could be our UPS flight out of Louisville tomorrow morning to Montreal...it's the only Canadian flight I could find. What do you think??

http://www.flightstats.com/go/Fligh...?id=189775360&airlineCode=5X&flightNumber=474

Your link is missing, but if you're referring to UPS474, it leaves at 4:26, and the flight from Anchorage doesn't arrive until 6:09. It's possible it will be shipped to Syracuse or somewhere around there and taken by truck the rest of the way. I say we just wait and see.

UPS488 SDF-YYZ works too. And don't discount the possibility of shipping into BUF or DTW and riding a truck over the border...

488 seems to leave earlier, but who knows. I'm going to bed, gotta get away from all the refreshing and such.

UPS to Atlanta

mine just landed in anchorage on what i believe was UPS81. Should be in Kentucky at 1AM ish, and MAYBE to me in canada by tomorrow! please please please!

Mine too. Not sure why I'm like one in a million on UPS to ATL instead of FedEx, but just glad to see it's moving. Ordered 4.14 midday, 17" anti-glare i7, 8GB RAM, 500GB 7200. Ordered standard shipping.

Has anyone figured out where these are headed (3:20am CST April 20 departure from Shanghai)?

Here's a summary of some of the basic info on shipping/flights we have, since much of it is buried several pages back and I see some of the same questions being asked multiple times.

psychos, I know you're still up waiting to see your shipping status get update ~11:21PM CDT when FDX90 lands in Memphis. :) I'm gonna stay up too since I believe my MBP is on that flight.

First off I want to thank you for one of the best posts EVER on Macrumors forum. I've been on this forum for a couple years and this post is certainly among the best I've ever seen. I'm posting some info here not to pick nits but to provide more info from my particular order which may indeed be an edge case.

2. Once you have a tracking number, you will probably see "Picked up" and "Left FedEx origin facility" scans already. This seems to mean that FedEx has your package at/near the Apple warehouse. A large percentage of people seem to get a "Package received after FedEx cutoff" along with the "Picked up", but this doesn't seem to affect total transit time since it still appears to take until at least the next day to be flown out of Shanghai.

Below is my tracking info. Note that I ordered Thursday, Apr 15, 2010 at 12:59 PM CDT. My package went wheels up the same day it was picked up and only 13 hours after pickup.

3. You'll get two "in transit" scans. I believe the first "in transit" scan is either arrival at the airport, or just a location scan at the airport. This may happen either the same day as the pickup, or may not happen until the next day shortly before the second "in transit" scan. It appears that the second "in transit" is the plane with your laptop actually taking off from Shanghai. This generally seems to happen the next business day after the "Left FedEx origin" scan. Many people are able to match the timestamp on their second "in transit" scan with one of the FedEx flights leaving Shanghai, which can tell you which flight your laptop is probably on; see below for more on that.

As my shipping shows the second "in transit" can happen the same day of the "Left FedEx Origin Facility" scan.

Also, it seems that many folks are getting their packages early. Maybe folks with expedited shipping are the ones getting it early? In any case my scheduled delivery is Wednesday, April 21 but with the flight arriving in Memphis in less than 1 hour I'm hoping my MBP gets to me tomorrow since I live in a suburb of Dallas, a major city. My wife actually brought up a good point with respect to people getting their shipments early - with the delays caused by the volcano in Europe it's almost certain that traffic into the Memphis super-hub is considerably lessened as there's no Europe-Memphis flights landing. Quite possibly Memphis is overstaffed for the number of packages they are receiving, both overstaffed by FedEx employees and by customs employees. So instead of packages waiting a day to clear customs and get broken down into regional destined pallets they clear customs and get loaded onto appropriate regional hub flights on the same night.

Well, here's to hoping we all get our MBPs as soon as possible.

I am beginning to question, if I were to pay for the express shipping. Would my package have gone a different route from shanghai to calgary? I just don't see any other way this package could have gone by looking at all the available flights? I can't help but think the express shipping method is just a cash cow for apple...

Aren't we assuming that that's FDX90 to Memphis?

Mine left at 3:20 am too.

FDX90 left Shanghai at 11:14PM April 19th CST and was in the air when the 3:20AM April 20th flight (whatever flight that is) left Shanghai.

est arrival : 21st

Date/Time Activity Location
Apr 19, 2010 9:00 PM At local FedEx facility SHANGHAI CN
Apr 17, 2010 1:53 PM Left FedEx origin facility SHANGHAI CN
Apr 17, 2010 1:52 PM Picked up SHANGHAI CN
Apr 16, 2010 10:42 PM Shipment information sent to FedEx

My macbook hasn't even left China yet and I paid for 2-3 day shipping. I have no idea how they are going to get it here by my arrival date of the 21st. This sucks

Has anyone figured out where these are headed (3:20am CST April 20 departure from Shanghai)?

It'll most likely be a FedEx flight to Anchorage some time tomorrow morning. Currently not listed by FlightAware, but i'm sure they will be.

FDX90 left Shanghai at 11:14PM April 19th CST and was in the air when the 3:20AM April 20th flight (whatever flight that is) left Shanghai.

3:20AM is NOT when the flight left, just when it was scanned. It can be several hours before the plane actually leaves.
