The strange part about this is that the 2nd "In transit" message and the arrival message are timestamped only 28 minutes apart. It is not clear to me if there was just a backlog in the tracking info appearing or some glitch in the scan time of the arrival message. I'm hoping it was just a backlog and the computer is currently making its way across the country toward Boston.

Those are in local times for each location. Shanghai is 16 hours ahead of Anchorage (12 hours ahead of EDT, and EDT is 4 hours ahead of AKDT in Anchorage,) thus the time disparity. The 3:20AM departure seems to be a PVG-NRT-ANC flight, arriving in ANC on FDX24 NRT-ANC. Currently unknown what flight (or even possible longer route than non-stop) it would've taken PVG-NRT.

Your machine is sitting in ANC right now. It should continue on via one of the US hubs (see the mini-FAQ in my sig) later today to BOS.

mine did that too yesterday. I got a quantum email with a new date (1 day earlier than the last one that showed on the UPS site, but it was the same as the one that first showed on the UPS site) but now the UPS tracking info doesn't show an expected delivery.... I'm counting on tomorrow though!:(

Duh - the times are local scan time, so it isn't 28 minutes, it is 17hrs later

It left 3:20 China time... and then arrived 3:48... Alaska Time.

When it was 3:20 in China it was probably only 7:20 in Alaska.
 
i thought mine was onboard last nights flight to memphis but i guess not, any idea what this means?

I ordered at 12:30 pdt time on 4/13 and mine still has not shipped.

I hope this means it'll be on UPS81 out of Shanghai right about now and in Louisville tonight, however my package status is now 'Exception' and they no longer have an expected delivery date whereas last night it was still expected for delivery tomorrow. ;)

Edit: it feels to me like UPS81 is late taking off, but hard to tell:

Ugh my FedEx shipment is showing it's My Local FedEx Facility in Scottsdale which is 20 steps from where I'm at work right now. I called FedEx and asked if I could just go pick it up but they said since it's in a container or w/e they won't have it ready for shipment until tomorrow and Apple requires at least one delivery attempt before it can be picked up at FedEx but I won't be home to sign for it :(. How quickly did everyone's ship out after it arrived at their local FedEx? Since it arrived early (7:28 AM) I had hoped it would be ready today.

Not my usual sucky FedEx guy; dunno if it's just his day off, or if he's gone. Even after I told this guy that it was awesome it made it from Shanghai in < 24 hours and a day early, he apologized that it wasn't delivered by 10:30. :)

Mine's still chilling (literally) in Anchorage. Are they waiting on customs to clear the shipment, or does that occur at the final hub (Memphis?) To be fair it's still 0700 in the morning in AK.

Not so sure. Mine has an identical status as yours, in transit from Memphis with a similar timestamp and mine has to make it's way up to Rhode Island. Something tells me they wouldn't be driving it up there on an expedited order.

Wonder if something is up with these. Same pallet that missed shipment or something.

Ordered my MacBook Pro i7 17" with auto enroll AppleCare last Tuesday (April 13th) 10:00am EST.

As of 9:28am this morning, the shipment was in Louisville. I originally had a Thursday delivery date, then last weekend, my tracking status indicated a delivery date of Wednesday. Now the delivery date is gone.

Just wondered if there were any other buyers in the Ontario area who bought CTO MacBook Pros and are seeing similar or different shipping results.

Most FedEx flights start heading out of here around 2:30pm AST 6:30pm EST.

Mine is in Anchorage, where I work. However it still says not due for delivery until tomorrow by noon.

I just updated the post, mine just flipped to that to. I'm watching UPS81 on flightaware, seems it's either late taking off in Shanghai or the flight tracking abilities are just not that great.

I *assume* everything will go through Louisville, but as I'm in Vancouver I selfishly think it would make more sense to send mine to Ontario, Cali. ;)

i'm jealous. my order was placed around the same time as yours and is also shipping to Cambridge, MA but still hasn't arrived. in fact, I think it's on the wrong plane

the only planes to leave FedEx Memphis at 3:17AM today were heading to Florida, Michigan, and LA. Scheduled for delivery tomorrow and that still hasn't changed though
