Actually a merge is less likely to show on Apecode as a merge goes via Walsh Western and is distributed by UPS. Apecode specifically deals with the European Distribution Centre (TNT) and TNT themselves.
Not quite, Apecode tracks Kuehne & Nagel and delivery to the distribution centre. If your package is with K&N it vanishes off Apecode's radar when it arrives at the EDC or Walsh Western.
Apecode will not track a package to your door, but it does provide links to the TNT tracker which might (if your final leg is with TNT). It seems that if TNT are handling the package from factory to door it never shows up on Apecode, and this seems to be happening where there is no merge-in-transit.
