The widgets are useless....our shipments only go with a courier literally 24-72hrs before delivery and the apple site is currently not displaying the correct data as usual

what do you mean by the apple site is not displaying the right data? please post a pic if you can or explain what i being misstated on the apple website for your order status. Mine says it still has not shipped. I am getting more and more frustrated. especially because my powerbook is having lots and lots of problems and once this one goes I am SOL.

What the heck does 'In transit' mean anyways. Mine was in transit from 530PM on Sunday until 12:50PM today. I assumed it meant, on the way to the local distributor, but alas it really means 'sitting in a warehouse'.

It better show up tomorrow, or I'm calling Apple and/or Fedex and asking for my express shipping charge to be refunded.

Yeah, I hate waiting. :( I was comparing it to my Nano's journey here so I was kind of hoping it's been in transit for over 20 hours because it's coming straight to Memphis. Oh well. :(

I always assumed "In Transit" meant it was on a plane/bus/train/whatever.

So did I, and the stop after Memphis is Ottawa, then it gets loaded on a truck and delivered. But it went from 'In transit' on Sunday, to 'departed FedEx location' this afternoon, which was also in Memphis. A little frustrating, I won't lie, as it was originally 'supposed' to be delivered this afternoon.

I ordered the 15" with the 160GB 7200rpm HD and its estimated ship date is 4-6 weeks. For the 15" MBPs, at least, the upgrade to the 7200rpm HD is the reason for the delay. You must have a different HD in your 17".

Same here, I called the Apple Store to ask why and they didn't have a reason. I told them I could fly to China and build one in less than 4-6 weeks. Geez they get us all excited about the 160 at 7200rpm and then make us wait :p

:D
I live in Amsterdam, so I'll get it soon!

Mine should be here too, because it shipped from Shanghai 1 minute and 2 days earlier, though not yet any signal of it being in Arnhem.

They'd better put some 'Out for Delivery' on this morning, otherwise Im thinking about getting furious.

MBP NOT Stolen already...

Well my 2.4 15in MBP should have been delivered this morning...

Called Fedex a few times after the tracking updates suspiciously stopped coming. After the 3rd call, they told me that they don't know where the package is and assume it is lost.

Called Apple to tell them. The 'Lost Package Dept' will contact me in 24-48 hours at which time they will probably tell me that they'll ship me another one from China.

Not sweet.

Well, the computer showed up this morning. It disappeared for a day and Fedex told me they lost it, but somehow it popped up.

This is my first Mac, so I'm in the process of trying to figure out the best way to go about loading/storing everything...and also trying to learn this new OS.

I do have to say that the glosssy screen is beautiful. These new LEDs are bright as can be, and the glossy screen really makes it shine in my opinion. I am not having a problem with glare at all.

Watching a David Gray DVD as I type... Cheers.

Pardon me if this is obvious, but what are Apecode, TNT and other such things? Are they package companies- like UPS and FedEx?

Also, I order my MBP (along with iPod, Wireless keyboard, Brenthaven case)... all of them, except the MBP has shipped. I ordered them on the 11th, and the iPod, keyboard, case got shipped 12th (via FedEx).

When do you think I should expect the MBP to ship? Apple's order status page says that it is supposed to ship between 12th and 14th. Is Apple good with these times?

Thanks a lot!

:)

Ordered the 2 day shipping... :D
It's gonna be my first mac, and I just can't wait for it to arrive! :D

hasn't budged an inch. It was supposed to ship between 11-13th, but so far nothing has been reported other than "not yet shipped." It is 1PM in Shanghai, I sure hope they get this beast out soon so I have it for the weekend.

Delays with CTO 2.2GHZ/160GB

I'm frustrated. I had the university that I work at order a 2.2ghz 15.4" macbook pro with the hard drive upgraded to 160gb at 5400rpm last wednesday, 6/6. Apple calls this a "proposal," because the "purchase" doesn't take place until the computer is in stock in the store and I take it home. Unbeknownst to me, Apple has a store dedicated to "Proposals," on which it says that the the MacBook Pro will be shipped in 1-2 weeks. And, true to that, my Order Status page says it will ship "By Jun 20." Not what I was hoping for. Is anyone in a similar position? Live and learn, I guess.

Is this the message I will see change to include a fedex tracking number?

In the end it will send you an e-mail with the tracking number. Als there will appear a button 'track this order'. On that page, the tracking number will be.

I have already posted this multiple times in the thread!

Apple Store UK is useless, you can't track **** with it.

I ordered a base 15" MBP on June 10th, and so far nothing shows up:
MBP 15/2.2/2x1GB/120-5400/128VRAM-USA
Ships by: Jun 12 - Jun 14
Delivers by: Jun 13 - Jun 15

I called today to change my shipping to standard overnight and then called later just to make sure that everything was changed, even though I saw the shipping method as standard overnight when I logged in online. The Apple representative that I talked to said that my order was in the process of being shipped either that night (6/12 at about 10:20 PM EST) or early the next morning from Shanghai. I don't understand how that could be, as my card had not yet been charged, and has not yet been charged for this order, as Apple only charges once the MBP is packaged and ready to be shipped out. Anyways, I called twice after that and spoke with different representatives and they both told me that it was in the process of being shipped that night. To me, something is either shipped or it isn't shipped.. apparently my MBP is in Apple shipping limbo  *sigh*

I tried to get a clear answer out of her asking if the ship by date is guaranteed by Apple and she said that it's just an estimate and that it could take longer to actually get anything moving. She also said that it could be sent out as early as tomorrow (6/13) and be en route to my home by the day after (6/14). Although, there is no guarantee.. Oh MBP, where art thou?
I will post any progress..

I've found TNT to be a bit laggy on the way over from Shanghai, but this is what Apple and TNT told me would happen. Once it got over here to Europe it was updated at least once a day.

My MBP arrived at Heathrow, about 7 miles away at 5:30 this morning.

Just to clarify...

Pardon me if this is obvious, but what are Apecode, TNT and other such things? Are they package companies- like UPS and FedEx?

Apple uses both TNT and UPS in the UK (if not elsewhere in Europe) - and these are equivalent to eg. FedEx (although not as fast - and I believe FedEx can give you morning/afternoon delivery times? which I don't think TNT/UPS do - they do a "between 9 and 5" type deal)... Apecode appears to be a tracking site to the European 'relay' hub, but I don't think it packages or delivers anything... :)
