I ordered a stock 2.2Ghz model on the 11th (right after the store went back up) and my ipod was delivered today, and with the free standard shipping! The MBP says 'in transit' at 9:21pm on the 13th in Shanghai, estimated to be delivered on the 15th in Sarnia, ON. Can't wait!

Just got the following in my e-mail from the Apple Store:

We are happy to advise you that your order is now in transit, however, we are experiencing a short delay. We now expect to deliver your order by 18/06/2007.

That's if the bleeping plane has taken off!

I just realised it's a bit like my first mac buying experience in 1995 when the local reseller in Dundee constantly said my Peforma 630 would arrive tomorrow. Right up to the point I cancelled the order and bought one off the shelves of John Lewis Edinburgh.

I also just got this email. Also in Edinburgh. Also standard config. Looks like ours will together till the very end :)

This whole experience has been a bit annoying though - went into Scotsys at the weekend and they had them in stock - could of walked out with one if my order hadn't "shipped" on the Friday :(

How long did it it take for your MBP to ship from the time you ordered it? Did it match the estimates that Apple provided?
I ordered mine at approximately 11:15 PST on June 5th. It shipped late Friday night. My MBP was delivered by fedex two days after the original Apple estimates. Once it actually did ship, they updated their estimates and they matched the Fedex timeline.

pffft no updates at all today

best be some this time tomoro, its supposed to of arrived in the UK today.

eenu

how long was it for you to go from accept scanned at EDC -> departed direct ->booking slot obtained...... to in the UK or on the truck or whatever?

mine updated yesterday to that first bit, between 2-4pm, so i was wagering on about 24 hours trip to the UK give or take a few hours and then it might get scanned at such n such a warehouse and appear on the apecode

no email from apple yet mind.

also, mine was CTO but it also has to merge with parallels and the apple care (decided to keep it, what the hell its £50 no biggie) ... i find it curios that is has to merge with a non-physical item lol. with paralles do they simply bung a copy in the box? or do they install it for you?

I work for BT and get "staff" discount (about 80 quid off) at the Apple store else I would have done the same.

Mine is still with all the others waiting in the broken plane at Pudong. Too bad, I was expecting to post this message on my brand new MBP by now. Ah well, just a little grumpy now, but now I get to be excited for an even longer time about my purchase :D

The only thing that really bothers me is that there has been no status update since june 12th 9.00 Chinese time. That's nearly two days ago! I'm not mad at anyone, I just can't wait this long! I just hope it arrives early next week, or maybe earlier...

Hopelessly Waiting...............

I was thinking, while I surf through this thread trying to figure out how long in takes on average for the MBP to arrive, I thought that maybe we could all state the day we ordered it, the approximate time, the customization options of the MBP, and the day that we got it (also add it you paid extra for shipping). I would love to know this info so that I can figure out when mine will arrive! (also add if it was a Student Discount order and the state/providence/country you live in)

If this sounds good I would appreciate it since I have seen a lot of you that have received you MBP but don't understand why mine is still not here yet I ordered it the first day at 8:00am PST.

Has anyone else not received theirs that ordered in on the first launch day before 12:00 ?

My story...

15" 2.4Ghz MBP 160 HD 5400 rpm glossy Educator discount

Ordered 6/6 about 2 AM (was debating screen/specs for 12 hours)

Was told would ship 6/8-11 and deliver 6/12-15

Picked up Shanghai 6/9 4PM

In transit Shanghai 6/11 1 AM

Arrived Anchorage 6/11 1 PM

Arrived NYC 6/12 9:58 AM!

I initially ordered mine on the morning of the 5th but ended up calling on the 8th to change my order, which changed the status obviously. At the last minute I went with matte instead of glossy. Anyway, it's the 17" high-res matte, 2.4Ghz, 2GB RAM, 160GB HD 7200 RPM. The order was shipped from Shanghai on the 11th and will arrive tomorrow morning.

The nice Apple rep gave me free two-day shipping when I changed my order so I guess my order might've gotten here on Friday with standard.

OK so I've been on the phone with 3 different Apple store people and then a Developer Connection manager and they confirmed that all new MBP 15" with the LED backlight are going to be shipped from China. I paid extra for the overnight shipping and the manager said that the store people made a mistake in thinking that you can get 2nd day or standard overnight shipping since the product comes from China and has to stay in customs for at least 24 hours. The overnight and 2nd day shipping are only available to products that are available in US warehouses, and for all overseas shipments the standard 2-3 day shipping applies.
Initially my order said that the MBP would get shipped June 12-14 and get delivered June 13-15, but that is supposedly not accurate. My order will hopefully ship out from China by June 14th, but I'll get it maybe June 18-19 if I'm lucky..
If they had some Apple stores in South Carolina and I didn't have my developer's discount, I would pick one up from the store.. I guess I'm stuck waiting

Lucky you. I went with the same setup. I am supposed to get mine the 19th...

I consider myself lucky. I ordered my 2.4 15" (glossy) tuesday the 5th just after the update, to be shipped the 8th and delivered the 13/14th.
After I called the following day with apple to check some details they cancelled my original order, this also meant the shipping changed to 13th!!! After another call they told me they would sent it as soon as possible. They kept word, this morning at 09.45 TNT was already there. The impatient waiting had ended. :D
For all the guys (and girls;) ) who are still waiting, I know how it feels. But I have to admit, it was worth waiting for. It's a great machine.

I ordered my MBP on the 11th. It has still not shipped yet. But today, my credit card has been charged- does that mean its going to get shipped soon? Or am I just having high hopes?

I dont recall the last time I waiting this intensely for a product to be delivered.... its totally out out of control (and I am loving it):D:D. My only concern is that I will be out of state July 5th onwards.... so as long as they deliver before that, Im a happy guy.

OK, I ordered it May 29 ('knowing' an update would be coming, thanks to all the rumors sites), it got replaced, and they received my payment June 6, shipped it June 9 (though it was supposed to be June 11-12) and put it on June 13 for delivering (though that was June 14-15 in the start).

Well, maybe I shouldn't complain so much. It is not June 15 after all. It's only the fact that you know why it is not here makes it hard.

Ordered a 2.4 17" Hi-res glossy MBP about 20 mins after the store came back up and it arrived this afternoon. Sitting side by side with a 2.16 17" Matte MBP the screen is simply stunning. It's significantly brighter and the increased resolution is fantastic. Went for glossy this time and it seems pretty good. Just in the process of getting everything loaded on the new one and cleaning up files before copying stuff across. Not sure I will notice much difference in speed but will hopefully be able to tell when editing movies.

All in all, a very happy chappy.

I ordered my MBP 15" 2.4GHz w/Matte early Monday morning (11th). My order status still says this:

Ships by: Jun 12 - Jun 14
Delivers by: Jun 14 - Jun 19

It looks like my Amex has a pre-auth charge for the amount of the MBP. I called yesterday and was told that my order is boxed up and ready to go and that is should ship today or tomorrow.

I still don't understand why Apple doesn't just send a bunch of MBP's to a warehouse in the US and then distribute them from there.

It has still not been shipped, but my card got charged today.... so I have high hopes that it will get shipped today/tomorrow..

My order just changed also:

Ships by: Jun 12 - Jun 14
Delivers by: Jun 14 - Jun 19

which really is on par with what the people that I have been talking to at the Apple store have told me. My total price just changed, and for shipping it now says 2 day but the shipping charge is $0.00.
I wonder if I have to call my credit card company again and change the pre-authorized charge amount to reflect the $12 shipping difference now. Is anyone in the same boat now?
