Hmm actually thinking about that, it would only affect the ship date not how long it takes to ship...

Apple are quite limited with their shipping agents I order an ipod for my wife a couple of Christmases ago and said I'd pick it up from the depot only to find out it was on the other side of the country near Glasgow and not in a business park on the edge of town,

Maybe they are being ultra Conservative (Michael Howard rather than Dangerous Dave Cameron).
 
damn, ordered my macbook (not pro) last friday at around 2pm and it still says it hasn't left fedex in california.
 
Is there any way to upgrade to overnight shipping? I ordered a 17" BTO one 20 minutes after the store came back up, but it doesn't look like it will ship today. It still says it will ship June 6-8, but with 2 day shipping it will arrive on Monday if shipped out tomorrow. Does anyone know if Apple offers overnight for an extra charge? I'd love to have it before the weekend!

By the way, has anyone even had a 17" MBP ship yet? All reports I've seen have been for the 15" one.
 
Next day shipping wasn't an option when I ordered mine. I'm guessing it's impossible since it if shipping from half way across the world. However, if you call, the worst they can say is no! :)
 
I called Apple last night to inquire about upgrading my shipping service. They obliged, and my Macbook Pro is now being sent via overnight shipping.
 
Maybe today

My iPod shipped yesterday (from China). Someone else mentioned theirs shipped from PA. I wonder if this is because I engraved mine?

My free Canon PIXMA printer shipped today :) (Giving it to my parents though, thought I would be a nice son)

My 15" MacBook Pro has not yet shipped :( I was hoping :apple: could whip mine out in a day, seeing as how I got my order in semi-early.

Let's hope it ships tonight! Or at least be tomorrow.

And I also did not have the option for next day, so I opted for 2 day shipping. Hoping it makes it here before the weekend.

I ordered the 2.4Ghz MBP and it shipped! but the shipping date says it was shipped on June 7... weird..

iPod shipped on June 6 tho.. which is today... I am in Canada btw..

However, how come only my tracking for FedEX works? my iPod is shipped through Purolater and the tracking link doesn't work. Anyone have this problem too? :(

This surprises me as I called them today to ask the very same (UK) and they said there was no upgraded shipping. Where was your order placed? Could the lack of shipping choice be restricted to certain countries/markets?

Yes Purolator's tracking routinely does this to me. Once no tracking info showed up until AFTER I received the package. Relax :) They are actually a decent courier, their tracking software just sucks.

That's good news. I might have to do the same if mine doesn't ship today.

Oh, plus I just phoned my credit card company, and apparently the charge just went through 10 minutes ago. I've never purchased from Apple before, but do they usually charge you once they ship the product?
 
Also interesting... i just went back through the ordering process to see what shipping options it listed (UK) and for the exact same configuration it now quotes 4-6 weeks to ship. The only shipping option shown is 3-7 days.

I'm guessing the delayed availability has to have something to do with stock levels.
 
I ordered mine (2.4GHz 15" stock config) within about 30 minutes of the store updating ... they've sent me a power adaptor so far, but no MBP :rolleyes:

We'll see how long it takes us kiwis to get through the queue ... will be a nice upgrade from my 1st gen 1.67 GHz PBG4 when it arrives (and hopefully have a couple less scratches). Currently claims to be shipping by the 12th and arriving by the 14th ...
 
this thread should become more popular now as i wrote about it on my website and stuck it on Digg too. Hopefully we will get more people confirming what i have said.

We ordered within 5 minutes of eachother and our MBPs were shipped within 5 minis of eachother :)

Has yours actually been picked up by FedEx yet or was just the package data transmitted?
 
i just drove my butt to the bethesda row apple store and picked up the first one they opened out of the shipping boxes...what a difference from my 1.5 G4 powerbook from 2004 with a busted logic board...(anybody volunteer a guess what i should do with that thing?)...
 
Well I'm waiting (im)patiently, too! I ordered a 2.4GHz 15" MBP with a glossy display at exactly 6:04PDT. Gonna be one hell of an upgrade from my Revision B 1GHz 12" PowerBook, eh?! I can't wait! My 8GB nano will be arriving tomorrow. Oh, did I mention due to the bug in the apple store system when it first came back live, and the education discount, I got it with a glossy display for $2164.00. W00t! I WANT MY COMPUTER!!!! *pouts*
 
Overnight

Apple can upgrade my shipping to overnight---I'm on the phone with them right now. She says to ship it overnight will cost: $42. I'm located in Northern California. I'm passing on it.
 
Mine has a ship date of 6-8 June and a delivery date of 8-14 June.

It han't shipped yet and my account has not been charged. I did have it custom configured by adding a 160g hard drive and iWorks installed to a 15" 2.2 ghz.

Has anyone at all who custom configured had theirs shipped yet?
 
Mine has not shipped yet either. I order it around 6:11pm yesterday and status still says not shipped yet....
